3 months out & baby crazy!

I have a support system now that when the urge gets really bad I text them and they talk me down. I would like to loose another 40lbs before having a child but I'd be happy with 15-20. My husband and I are going to start trying in May.
  2. I have lost 60lbs and am 3 months out. I look and feel great but have become so baby crazy!! I know docs say to wait but all my tests come back great, I can eat almost anything (I took a few bites of pizza because I was curious), and I'm feeling great! Idk what's your thoughts/opinions? Obviously most of you will say wait but I'd like to know the pros and cons for those of you who have gotten prego before 12 months.

3 months out & baby crazy!

I actually had the surgery so we could have children. I didn't have PCOS but since I was so overweight I lost a baby. So I was advised to lose weight and surgery was suggested to me by my Endo and gyno. I did not have any other health issues presurgery other than being 100lbs over weight. That's part of the reason why I am so goo goo I suppose.

Yes I can eat a decent amount. I don't eat a lot at one time but I can eat multiple times throughout the day. I was told if I hit goal weight I could try at 6 months. I guess it would be good to lose more lol.

    BCBS IL

Does anyone have BCBS of IL but not live there? I am trying to get a feel on how long the wait is, or how much "trouble" I might run into. I do not have many comorbidies but I have high BMI and heart disease as well as diabetes runs in my family. The people I've talked to have been less than helpful since I do not live in IL.
  9. I'm not complaining about stalling because I would actually rather not lose super quickly so I don't have the issues with excess skin and such. However, I have hit a stall and I am only 10 days post op... Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this? I am getting discouraged because I still get hungry and feel like I can eat more than I should. Please help!!

    A little discouraged

YES Mocha-NJ!! Omg, getting protein in has been HELL. I just ate some refried beans with hot sauce. I started a little early on purée but I seriously could NOT eat anymore soup or yogurt. I was on a 2 week liquid diet before my surgery.

    Vitamins

There are vitamins called bariatric choice at a store call Sprouts (I'm not sure where you live). They are specifically made for people that have bariatric surgery. It's a chewable multivitamin, and it doesn't taste half bad. They are also available online through Walgreens.
  13. I have really bad diarrhea :-( I tried calling my NUT, just waiting for a call back. Is anyone else experiencing this? I do NOT want to take the milk of magnesia since waste is still coming out, but I take a multivitamin with fiber in it. Can I add some to a protein shake?
  14. tamarlarae

    This may be TMI but...

I am only 4 days post op. I haven't actually drank any protein shakes yet. I know I need to. I will definitely be adding some benefiber though if it helps!! My bum doesn't hurt, but I've been running to the restroom quite frequently thinking I may have had an "accident." Urgh so embarrassing!!

    This may be TMI but...

Yah it is. I haven't actually taken any MOM yet that's why I'm worried. I hear more people have issues with constipation so I just was hoping I'm not doing anything wrong :-(

    Meds?

Hi all, I'm 3 days post op and just tried taking the meds to prevent gallstones and the other ones. I forget which that is. Anyway, I can taste then in EVERYTHING and it is bitter and I almost threw up!! Please help, how did you take the meds and how did you keep them down??
  18. I am a teacher as well! I'm only 3 days post op and don't have to go back to work till July 24th, however, I'm also worried because that's a lot of recovery time but I will have to get used to a real routine again. If you're a teacher, you're probably on your feet a lot. I have heard that Dr. Schouls inserts help so your feet and legs don't swell but I have not tried it myself.
  19. Hello all! I am new to this forum, but I have been talking about WLS for about a year now. My husband was very much against it and not supportive until recently, which is why I've been looking at all options for a year. Now, we're talking about having children and I went to my OBGYN and she told me I needed to loose weight if I didn't want preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, etc. I have been yo-yoing on WW for 4 months now. I have Hoshimotos (thyroid disorder) but my blood work always comes back fine since we finally found a correct dose. I'm 6'1 24 years old, and currently weigh 325 with my ideal weight to be 220-230. I have NEVER been thin and although I do not have diabetes, I have high blood pressure and suffer from migraines. I would love to hear from people about their experience of being pregnant and having the surgery. I know I will have to wait a minimum of 12-18 months to have children, and my husband is okay with that as am I. Now that we both agree that MY health is important to take care of first he is now my biggest cheerleader. I have heard that the port site becomes sore and uncomfortable, but how long does the pain last? What kind of pain is it? I have a high pain tolerance, but I also don't want to not go to the doctor because I feel as though I can handle it. How were you after you had the baby? Did your surgery affect breast feeding? Sorry for all the questions, but I've done a lot of research and have an appointment tomorrow to talk with someone about getting banded so I would like as much info as possible or other questions you think I should ask when I go.

I did breakfast and dinner of protein shake and liquid only, then a good healthy dinner. It's hard but it helps.
