  1. Im going through this right now too. I had an upper GI today which showed some ulcers. My surgeon said that we have to find out if the ulcers are caused by bacteria (they can test with blood or a biopsy). If they are, they give a 2 week regimen of antibiotics and approx 6 weeks of an antacid (like prilosec). I still don't know if mine are bacterial, but once I do I'll be able to start treatment. Are you as disappointed as I am? I'm sooo bummed to be having a setback. My surgeon said it's important to be healthy and fully healed...at least that is his rules. Good luck to you. I'm anxious to hear what your doc says!
  2. Glad to hear your doing so well. I'm still preop but I worry how the sleeve will affect travelling. Good to know it can and does work for you.
  3. Dr. Podkameni is back! I have an appointment with him this Monday. Nervous and excited! I am in my 6 month of supervised weight loss. Hoping for a quick approval.
  4. This is really interesting! I imagine I'll be very emotional too (because I usually am anyway, hee hee). Thanks for posting this!
  5. This is kind of an old post so I'm not sure anyone will see it, but I wanted to say that PCIP is who my insurance is through. I found my information on healthcare.gov. I'm in Arizona and was able to get covered for a very reasonable price. I was turned down for a "standard/normal" insurance policy due to pcos.
  6. Your pictures made my day! I'm almost 36 and having VSG after the first of the year. I've been nervous that I'd look more wrinkly but you so do not! You look awesome and way younger too! Great job!
  7. I'm so sorry! I'm lucky to have a supportive Mom, but I definitely know those who are not. I think it's a good idea to avoid her for a while. Hopefully she'll come to her senses eventually. Congrats on your weight loss so far! Awesome!
  8. Hi Everyone! I'm 35 years old and graduated class of 1994. Four kids later, I'm ready to take my life back! Can't wait to get to know some of you.
  9. Hi! My name is Rebecca. I live in Gilbert, AZ and am a full Arizona Native. I've struggled with my weight most of my life, definitely since high school. I'm married to an awesome, supportive husband and have 4 beautiful kids. I've been through the process for preapproval for wls twice before, but this time is it! I'm actually grateful the other times didn't work out, because I now know about the sleeve..and I'm super excited! I'd love to join the AZ Sleevers group. Rebecca
