  1. Ok, i have no idea where to even put this. I am pre-op, but an exercise/general question. Does anyone notice that they don't sweat during exercise? I can get my heart-rate up to 180BPM and no sweating. Normally this would not be a problem, however i get really hot and cannot cool by body down, via sweating. Am i the only one? Here i thought as a big person i should sweat more lol. Cheers!!
  2. I am so amazed by all the transformations!!! Keep up the hard work, and enjoy your new found lives.
  3. I have the zombies run and zombies run 5k. If you get tired of the boring ol' run, check that out. It can be so much fun! Run, the zombies are chasing you!
  4. I am sure i am not alone with the habit if night time eating. I am often an insomniac, and i find it so hard to resist eating between 2300-0300. I understand how bad it is to not sleep well, often, regularly, and adding nighttime eating to the mix is dangerous on many levels. I am hoping others have experienced this problem. How are/did you cope(ing)? I am speaking to a therapist..... We will see if it helps. Its not like i feel i need a snack, its almost a meal!! Support..... Inspiration....
  5. Those are some great rewards! I love the tattoo idea, i have been wanting one forever! I think i am up to three haha! I find that i want to be so much more adventurous, in my future i will Shark dive and more scuba, i miss it. Climb the trees in the outdoor jungle gym (called monkido here near Vancouver bc, it looks like so much fun!) These two goals are not necessarily a weight loss goal per say, but goals in life! I also really like the nail polish reward, i have never been one for nail polish, so it sounds a little adventurous for me.
  6. I am currently pre-op and am beginning my resolution of personal wellness. This includes spiritual and physical. I have made an initial goal to go to the gym tuesdays and wednesdays. At the end of the month, i want to reward myself for going twice a week. Since our goal is to avoid food rewards, i was curious as to how you reward yourself. My 100lb goal after surgery, hopefully 50 pre-surgery is to go zip lining. But my monthly goals need to me small and fairly inexpensive. So, whats your reward?
  7. I highly recommend zombie run. Not only does it help you train slowly up to 5k but is exhilarating as well haha
  8. I understand what you are saying, however, my most recent stranger conversation was. "Wow, you shouldn't eat that, your really fat!" So i think the latter is better. Just my 2 cents.
  9. Unfortunately there is no other option. I only had my referral set and was waiting for a call for my first consult. I have been waiting for a year for that. I was due for my call any time now. Now it was all moot. I am going to have to wait maybe 5 years to save money for Mexico. I am in school now and have to pay out if pocket for it. It just plain sucks.
  10. After over a year of being on a wait list for surgery. The office I was getting it done at list all their funding, and now I am back to square one! I am so mad! I cannot afford to go to Mexico and now I am stuck. So very very mad!
  11. I too have my own reasons for not liking the idea of "therapy", but i am hoping to work on things and get some help. I have come to realize, by my huge weight gain in the last 2 years, I have some issues to fix. Gastric sleeve will only get me so far. Thank you for the great guidance!
  12. So this week I decided I wanted to start seeing a therapist, but I am afraid. I am afraid of being judged and don't know what to expect. A little bit about what I want to look into. 1. Of course vsg surgery 2. I am addicted to food and cannot control my eating 3. My husband has been diagnosed with cancer this past 2 weeks 4. I get upset really easily and cry when I am angry These are just a few but I am really scared.
  13. Thank you for your insight. I will give incline another try. I never found that inclined helped my cardio, I did find it helped the leg fatigue though. How I miss running lol. Who'da thunk it ... I am looking forward to being able to run again, and hope I like it even more than before. Another thing I am missing since gaining weight is my flexibility. I used to be able to (3 years ago I am talking) be able to do all sorts of acrobatics, and I was 209lbs. Now I grunt to touch my feet and put my socks on. When did that happen? Lol. Such little things I miss.
  14. My heart goes with you. Sounds like the nurses curse to me anything that can go wrong will go wrong. Is it getting any better?
  15. So I like running, not at the love stage. I really Like running on the treadmill, and less outside because it rains a lot here. The problem I have with the treadmill, with a weight of 311lbs is, when I am running the treadmill belt slips out from under me causing me to slip. I don't fall, but it causes a twist in my posture. This twist often causes me back pain later. Any suggestions? Has this happened to you? Is it just bad technique? I know I har not given much info, but I am thinking I run "heavy" and when I land, I land hard causing the belt to slip out. So I have not been running lately and avoid the treadmill. This is saddening because I like it.
  16. Yesterday, I was eating an ice cream cone while driving home, and a group of youn adults drove by. They took on look at me, started laughing, and pressed on their noses like a pig making Oinking sounds. I felt so sad, humiliated. I didn't show that it bothered me, but I cried on the wy home. I cannot wait to get this surgery so this doesn't happen anymore.

I just got into 50 shades if grey. Erotic, but so good. Ugh bushed Book 2 yesterday and even better than book one. I am saddened I have to work or I would be on book 3.
  18. Hi. I am currently on the waiting to for my initial appointment. I was referred last February, and each day I yearn for a call. Realistically I know it is about a one year wait. I live close so here's hoping lol.
  19. Nursing student here. I will be graduating in August 2012 assuming my patho doesn't take me down lol. I am on a waiting list for my first consultation and have about 6-8 months left to wait. I am really hoping to get it done in my 6 or 7 weeks off I have coming up in 5 months. I might be asking too much. I am then back on clinical rotations for 4 months. It is so nice to see so many nurses here
  20. I live in the fraser valley, and wanted to know if anyone else is waiting for surgery. I had a referral put in last Feb, and have not heard anything yet, I think I have about another 6 months to wait before my first consultation. Anyone else?
  21. how do we add people in fitbit? I am http://www.fitbit.com/user/23DNFC if anyone wants to nag ahem I mean encourage. lol
  22. How are you liking it so far MiTurner247? I have had mine for a few weeks and really like it! I had no idea, i mean I had a little idea, that my like was so sedentary. I have always said I am pretty active, but my eating sucks. Now I can say they both suck and need improving LOL! My fitbit is becoming a part of me!
  23. so just to update on my fitbit. I have had it 2 weeks, and I LOVE it!! I admit my lifestyle sucks, and the fitbit really puts that into perspective! I joined today for the premium, and am not sure how I feel about it yet. My sleep effectiveness whether I am in bed for 9 hours or 4 hours is the same, only about 3-4 hours sleep per night. No wonder I am bagged! lol. Anyhow, I just wanted to update my experience. Tracking food is really hard for me, and I fear that may be something that my surgeon will deny my surgery for, but I need to try. My weight keeps going up. This has to stop! and I am sure fitbit can help! Cheers!
  24. Hiya, So I have been trying for awhile to track my food. It is a nuisance, but I realize it's importance. How did you finally kick your butt to do it? Any tips? Please don't respond with determination or motivation. Cheers Niki
