  1. We can't have NSAIDS after surgery? YIKES!!! I am allergic to most drugs and alleve is the only thing that works.
  2. I just now joined and my user name is kzben. I have no idea how to use it yet, not how to add friends.
  3. Wow! Thank you; I would've never thought to strain the drinks to get rid of the unmixed powder. I am sorta afraid to use the blender because of the "foam"; will it give me gas? Should I like..make it and let it settle in the fridge for a couple of hours?
  4. The EAS Advantage RTD comes in 2 packages the 17 gr protein gives you like 24 cartons; but the 20 gr protein I think gives you 18 cartons. I get mine at Sam's. I also like the premium from Costco - it has 30 gr protein.
  5. Does anyone have an idea how long to wait before having a mammogram after surgery? Looks like my surgery will be in early November and my yearly mammogram is usually the week after Christmas.
  6. I bought a half gallon bottle and keep refilling my glass; since I am supposed to do 80 oz of water I add a 16 oz bottle. I make tea and diet drink from 4c from the half gallon bottle ( pour 16 oz in a cup and add the powder ).
  7. Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought I was the only one who thought Chike was terrible. I like the premier shakes; ordered unjury, the synthax nectar and I love the Permalene - bodacious berry.
  8. I am in stage 3 kidney disease. I am so glad to read what you wrote. When I had my blood work done, the nephrologist said my protein was fine, but my calcium was up a little and suggested I give up the yogurt for a while. I have lactose intolerance ( so, no real milk products ). So, I gave up the yogurt and only taking calcium supplements, and the test was fine this time.
  9. I am being treated for bi-polar. The psych evaluation went smoothly. She said if I was stable on my meds, it was ok with her, but to make sure the psychiatrist adjusts the dosage as I lose weight.
  10. I look at it this way: Luke was a physician and God used him. Why give man intellect and not let him use it? God doesn't work that way. A friend of mine had the surgery and her pastor told her (in front of alot of people) that she had no faith and should consider "deliverance from the gluttony spirit". I convinced to find another church. I thought only the enemy would condemn. Jesus did not die so we would fall on condemnation from others. Gee, I thought sin is sin - no matter which sin it is. So, should being judgmental (judge not...)_ is not a sin, but overeating is? WOW
  11. do they want a copy of your weight loss - what you ate and how much you exercised? I had to do a listing of everything I ate for 3 days and 1 had to be a weekend day. Then there was a 5 page questionnaire - allergies, likes & dislikes, etc. that was all pre-Nut.
  12. I have high bp ;and my "good cholesterol" is not good; sleep apnea and pre-diabetic; forgot - stage 3 kidney disease - I'm sure hoping this is enough. My BMI is 36 and I have 100 pounds to lose.
  13. H ave had IBS since I was 24. There are soooo many vegetables that upset my colon. I also have given up milk, soy and wheat products.
  14. My cardiologist told me to watch my sodium, phosphates and and potassium for gout. he did not mention protein, though.

Mab, we drink Fruit 2 0 ; it has no calories and does not contain aspertame. Costco and BJ's sell another brand, but for the life of me, I can't remember the name. I have half-timers - half the time I forget and the other half I just don't remember.

have you tried the no cal flavored waters? I like them better than making my own sometimes.
  17. I have Cigna also. Just completed my 6 month supervised diet. They may have changed it to 3 months, but I already went to the other 5 classes - Cigna only pays for the first 3 anyway. I am just taking one day at a time; trying to change my eating habits beforehand.
  18. Red Lobster is one of a few restaurants that have special meals for WLS people. My daughter worked there and told me. I am happy
  19. I get it coming "out both ends" when I have anything with aspertame in it. No problems with Sucralose ( splenda) yet.
  20. The quote from my surgeon's office for self-pay was $17,905., all inclusive.
  21. You could always "can" them yourself. They sell small canning jars.
  22. 4C is made with sucralose (splenda) as are the fruit flavored waters and Powerade SF. But, splenda is sweet too. I just decrease the amount I use.
  23. Caffeine can dehydrate you.
