  1. Forgot to mention, these boards have helped so much. During the group session yesterday I pretty much knew everything they went over because I have heard it here. There was just one thing I didnt hear before, my doctor says if we get the flu in the future and are throwing up all the time from it, he wants us to come in so they can unfill us so throwing up doesnt damage the band. It makes sense but has anyone else heard of this.
  2. Went to my Pre-op doctors appt yesterday. Had a group Q&A session and the Patient Advocate said the night before surgery go out and have whatever you want for dinner So I get a Last Supper too. Going out tonight with the family, we have Anniversary celebrations anyways. Ready for tomorrow morning, I am the first patient for the day. Good luck everyone.
  3. I'm getting banded on the 20th as well Reading all the posts for encouragement. Going to my pre-op doctors appointment today and then will go out and get all my supplies for post-op. I'm getting all my wash done so the family doesn't have to worry about it. I feel like I am prepping for the new person that will be coming home after surgery. Getting everything all ready so all I have to worry about is taking care of myself. So ready for this. Good luck everyone.
  4. Thanks ladies.... the crazy thoughts as I get closer to surgery day....
  5. I am on Pre-Op diet, scheduled for surgery this Friday I am doing pretty well but there are times during the day that my stomach growls.... sometimes loud... It's no big deal but I am in an office where we sit close together... My question is this, when I get banded and my hunger will be more restricted. Is my stomach going to growl because it doesn't have food in it? Is it something that goes away as my stomach gets used to smaller portions? I know it's a silly question but as surgery day gets closer all kinds of thoughts are going through my head. One less thing to think about would be good. Thanks all.
  6. United Healthcare, it only took a few days but my nurse said I have a very good ins plan. They expected it to be a couple of weeks but it only took about 3 days. Good luck.
  7. Good luck to you, keep us posted as to how you are doing. I'm being banded in April and would love to hear about your experience. Take care.
  8. Congrats ..... Now the fun begins...
  9. Thanks for asking the question.....definately good to know. We can do this, no problem
  10. Sasha...that's funny, I thought I was the only one having my last of the favorites. I have been going overboard with it and am also looking forward to my pre-op diet. Surgery is on the 20th and pre-op diet starts on the 6th. Good luck everyone
  11. Thanks for the update Jess. It helps with my nerves Glad everything went well. Excited about my day in April.
  12. I'm so sorry to hear this I hope everything goes well with the doctors tomorrow and you get better very soon. Take Care.
  13. April 20th here.... was approved right away. The doctor's office called and I am scheduled for April 20th. Start pre-op diet on April 6th. So excited
  14. Yeah... Happy for you. I've just been approved as well but my surgery isnt until April.
  15. I didn't tell my boss other than I am having a procedure done and need 2 days off. He always states that he doesn't need to know any of our medical info. So I followed his wishes and didn't go into detail.
  16. I went to the doctor about 3 weeks ago, wasn't sure if my insurance would cover everything. Well apparantly I have great insurance and I was approved right away. I was prepared for a long haul but now I am excited / nervous that it is happening so quick. I will be banded on April 20th and will start my pre-op diet on April 6th (no liquid diet though). I have been hovering the boards for awhile taking in as much info that I can and feel pretty comfortable with whats ahead. And from a previous post- I am already working on my skinny bucket list ...... Lots of things I want to do when I lose this weight. Good luck everyone .....
