No word that I know of from Simply Southern. I've pm'd her a few times but no response. She has been on the site a few times but has not made any posts. Doesn't she know we're all worried about her???? I do hope she is doing well.

- I'm 60. Anyone else over 50 doing RNY?
Congrats. So glad you are doing so well. Keep up the great work!- Bad Day..
So, so sorry for all you are going through. I do hope you get answers tomorrow. Please keep us posted.- What ya eating tonight?
Small piece of ham, au gratin "potatoes" (made with cauliflower), asparagus, strawberry shortcake (1/2 biscuit). Not the best but pretty good for a family holiday dinner. Had abt 900 calories for the day. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk- Extreme weakness
How are your protein, water, and caloric intake? If I'm short on any of those, I get very weak and dizzy. Just a thought. Feel better soon! Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk- I'm 60. Anyone else over 50 doing RNY?
Good luck with all the preop hoops you have to go through. It really is worth it, even at "our age." Hang in there and keep your eye on the prize--a happier and healthier YOU! Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk- 6 Years--how is everybody doing?
I noticed that my post a year ago was the last one in the March 2007 bandsters, so maybe no one is still here. I'd love to hear how everyone is doing, though, so I'm trying again. I had a revision from band to bypass on December 10, 2012. So far, so good. I've lost 50 lbs since then. I've always been a slow loser, even with the band and everything else I've tried (which, with my age, adds to a very slow metabolism). So I'm not setting any weight loss records, but I'm pleased with the results so far and I feel better than I have for many years. Check in if you are so inclined! It would be wonderful to hear how everyone is doing. Thanks for your support, especially in the beginning of the band journey.- What ya eating tonight?

Good to see you here again! I (thankfully) was told by my doctor to stop drinking them and not to eat protein bars either. He said to develop a life-long eating plan with few carbs and lots of protein from natural sources. It was hard the first few weeks to get enough protein in but I'm good at it now and always get at least 60 g of protein, but usually 70+. I feel so much better without the artificial sweeteners and fake stuff! I eat mostly yogurt (Greek or Dannon 2x protein yogurt), fish, cottage cheese, lean beef, chicken, etc. Also reduced fat cheeses. I'm only supposed to have fruit 2-3 times per week so sometimes I add strawberries to my yogurt for a real treat. I also eat vegetables, but not potatoes. Hope that helps! I use mine several times every single day. Keeps me honest. My doc says most people underestimate their food and overestimate their exercise. So true. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk- List of Band to Bypass Patients
I had my band placed in March 2007. I had trouble from the beginning getting the right amount of fill. Finally got restriction after 9 fills. I lost around 60 lbs. but then had trouble again with the proper adjustment. Was too tight for awhile and ate slider foods. Started gaining weight. Band was unfilled. My new surgeon said he had never seen that much fluid in my type band. Gained about 40 lbs. and was having bad reflux. Tried filling a little again but reflux was worse. Continued gaining weight. So on December 12 I had my band removed and bypass done. The surgeon had a bit of trouble getting the band out and had to actually make the pouch a little bigger than he would have liked due to the band damage. I weighed 230 when I got the band and 228 when I had the revision. I've been a bit of a slow loser with both procedures, possibly due to my age (I'm 63 now) and the fact that I don't have as much to lose as some others, so weight loss is slower. But, I am just .3 lbs away from having lost 50 lbs since December, so I'm happy with that. I have about 30 lbs. still to lose. I'm very happy with my revision decision! Good luck to everyone else and to pebulz on her upcoming surgery.- December 2012 Post Op Group
