  1. We are date twins! How cool! Have you started your pre-op diet yet? I have and I'm miserable! Yes I started yesterday. It was a pretty good day! I previously wrote out what times I would drink and what I would drink along with my Vitamins. I pretty much stuck with my schedule and had a great 1st day! Yayyyyy surgery teacher twin! ! #june15newlife
  2. I agree but Christmas break would probably be better because that's 2 full weeks. I thought I was going to have to have mine originally during that time because I'm having a revision from band to RNY, but because my band didn't slip I'm blessed to be having everything Done on the 15th. Summer is perfect for recovery. I hope things work out for you! #teachersrock
  3. I'm a 42 yoa female as well, with very supportive spouse and friends. I started my liquid diet today. I've made it through this first day with no problems. My Surgery is June 15th. I'm very excited and focused because I'm having my lapband removed to get RNY. I believe this is going to be a much better journey for me and I wish you all the best. I'm loving the Premier Protein Vanilla. I did purchase an unflavored protein as well for after surgery in case my taste buds change. Looking forward to some great results.
  4. I'm excited about my band to bypass revision on June 15th. I wish everyone the best in whichever surgery they decide.
  5. Thanks for the information. I'm scheduled for June 15th and looking forward to my new life!!
  6. I'm looking forward to my revision in mid June! Yayyy!!
  7. I hope you are okay. Did you have to get an unfill? I had 1.5cc removed today and an Upper GI to make sure my band was okay.
  8. As of yesterday, I had 4.9 cc's in my 10cc band and have not done as I should in the past 6 months. I went in for a fill which put me between 5.1 and 5.5 cc (because some of the fluid leaked out). My concern is I have never had any problems with being stuck or vomiting in the year I have been banded. I was able to eat some soup twice earlier in the day and about 20 oz of water. Later in the evening I was not able to take down protein shake or water. Should I give it another day to see if my band adjusts to be able to eat or should I call to schedule an unfill? Thanks for all responses.
  9. OMG....I never thought anyone would have as wide hips as me and had the lap band. Now you have totally inspired me to keep doing what I am doing. Thanks for sharing your story!! It doesn't get too cold here in GA either, but I am anemic, so I always feel cold, and like to wear pants most time in the winter. THANKS AGAIN
  10. I NEVER thought I would be able to say that I lost 71lbs either!! Thanks so much!!
  11. Thanks everyone! I know you all are so right! I have to stop beating myself up. It's in my genes! Mayasgram what did you do about the fat knees or they just went away as you lost weight?
  12. Yes I have lost 10 inches on my hips and 4 on the thighs and I am very excited about that, but of course the dilemma with the thighs is that I still have to wear alot of the same pants from before I lost 75lbs. and they are extremely big in the waist cause I have this pear shape. I try to wear dresses all the time, but with the cold weather coming, pants are going to be needed at some point. I am happy for my progress, but I so HATE my thighs!!
  13. I think my fat is turning into muscle, which is a good thing because my biggest issue is I have wide hips and huge thighs. I am exercising my hips and thighs everyday, sometimes twice a day. I have 3.5 cc in my 10cc band, eating no more than 1200 calories, drinking 80-100oz of nothing but water, BUT I have gained 5lbs. I still have 100lbs I need and want to lose.
  14. Don't sweat it HUN!! You have to do what's best for you!! I know it hurts, but just let that be your motivation!!
  15. That's great!! Congrats! Do you have any suggestions or can you tell us your daily routine?
  16. I was feeling the same way, but started thinking I didn't gain it all in one day and I am not going to lose it all in one day. Stay encouraged, we will get through this!! CONGRATS ON THE 75LBS!

  18. This is just a copy of the serving size I had. I will post a better pic tomorrow.
  19. of course as far out as you are, you dont have to puree meat if you do not want to!
  20. Today I was so relieved to eat my first serving of meat ...so here is what I had for lunch(about 2oz). My hubby made 2 different bowls (one with chicken, and one with shrimp and crab). SPINACH DIP 1pkg. (8 oz.)PHILADELPHIA Cream cheese Spread,(we used fat free) softened 1cup FAGE GREEK YOGURT 0% ITALIAN salad dressing mix chopped spinach (we used fresh spinach) ½ cup chopped red peppers MIX cream cheese spread, yogurt and dressing mix in medium bowl until well blended. STIR in remaining ingredients; cover. Refrigerate several hours or until chilled. SERVE with assorted cut-up vegetables. My hubby didn’t use the salad dressing or the peppers. He mixed in and pureed 2 grilled chicken breasts. I had the shrimp and crab mixture for dinner!! They both were great!!
  21. THANKS EVERYONE!!! I'M STILL DOING GREAT...WALKING A MILE A DAY HOPING TO MOVE UP TO 2 MILES AND SO ON!!
  22. Quoted from my Education Book: Your urine after surgery is going to look darker and have a more noticeable odor. Don't be alarmed by this. Such changes in urine may be a sign of dehydration because you are not drinking as much Fluid as is recommended and needed. As long as you are having two to three episodes of voiding per day, your kidneys are functioning adequately. Water, decaf tea and coffee, chicken or beef broth, SF popsicles, and any SF, non-carbonated liquids are acceptable to increase fluid intake. However please try to consume 73-100 ounces of fluid daily. Bowel Movements- will not be regular until you start eating solid foods again. At that time, you may expect to have one bowel movement every one to two days and usually less in quantity than prior to surgery. If you are constipated for more than three days in spite of effective fluid intake, you may use an OTC laxative, such as milk of magnesia, Fleet enema, or a suppository. I used 2 tbs of MOM after 2 days, and have been going every two days since. I hope this helps.
  23. I was also July 3, and everything went GREAT for me. I had very little pain from surgery some gas pain through yesterday. I finally got out the house today and did my first full walk regimen. I am so excited about getting the LB. I have lost 9 lbs and still don't have an appetite. I am getting tired of protein shakes though. But have 7 more days to go. I wish all of you the BEST!!
  24. WE HAVE THE SAME NEW BIRTHDAY!! I WISH YOU THE BEST!!
