  1. Thank you all for the replies! I am feeling much better today. I still get a Sharp pain in my left side but it is nothing compared to yesterday. I think going from liquids to mushies caused some sort of gas situation- that's the only thing I can think of. I hope no one else has to deal with the same thing!
  2. I am 15 days out and this morning I started experiencing absolutely excruciating pain in my left side, shoulder and neck. I have a very high threshold for pain and almost never end up in tears over it, but boy was a crying today. It hurt to move and breathe for crying out loud. My surgeon sent me to the ER Had a chest xray and ct scan on my stomach as well as blood tests, everything came back okay. They gave me an IV with morphine and that didn't even touch the pain. 7 hours & $150 later I'm back home and still in terrible pain. My guess is that its belated gas pains. My surgeon took me off mushies & put me back on liquids. Hopefully that helps! What a day! Thanks for letting me rant!
  3. My surgeon told me to bring mine. Like someone else said, its not used during the surgery but when they gave me pain medicine in recovery it knocked me out and they put it on me at that point.
  4. My doctor didn't give me any guidelines calorie-wise. Following her guidelines I'm taking in about 1000 calories a day which is dramatically less than what I used to. I guess I'm just going to have to hang on tight and ride it out. I didn't go through all this to fail!
  5. I don't have a fill yet, 3 more weeks. O realize everyone is different to a point but I'm just curious. I'm supposed to be eating 2.5 ounces of purred food for each meal but it take about 4 ounces to fill me up and the full feeling doesn't last long. I feel like I'm sabotaging myself but I'm starving! I am eating wholesome healthy foods.
  6. Great suggestions everyone, thank you! :-)
  7. My surgery was 4/24 and so far I'm feeling great. I lost about 22 pounds in the first week and have stayed within a pound of that but haven't lost any more. I start mushies today... I tend to over analyze so I need some opinions. What are mushies to you? To me pretty much anything could be misjudged of you chew it enough, though I'm sure that's not what my surgeon had in mind lol. Also, I used to be a big pop drinker, obviously I've given that up. Does anyone have any suggestions for tasty low-calorie non-carbonated beverages? I drink a lot of Water but it would be nice to have some variety. I tried some 'diet' fruit juice and it was terrible! Any help would be appreciated!
  8. We are almost exactly the same size. I'm 5'6.5" and currently weigh 310. Neat :-)
  9. My doc didn't have me stop at all. I even took my pill the day of my surgery (after I was discharged) per my surgeon.
  10. I'm 5'6" and my first goal is 220. I plan to set another lower goal once I reach 220.
  11. This EXACTLY what happened to me.
  12. I agree, Frosty Chocolate Pure Protein is all I can stomach.
  13. Yes! So thirsty! I drink all throughout the day, mostly water but nothing seems to quench it :-( Also, I think my swelling has gone down (banded 4/24) because I'm getting hungrier and hungrier. It's taking more food to fill me up each day and I'm still in full liquids until Tuesday.
  14. I had my surgery on Tuesday and I came back to work today... So far so good!
  15. I hope you start feeling better very soon. It helped me to take a nice shower and get out of the house but that's so hard to do with no energy :-(
  16. I had the headaches too, I stopped taking my lortab and switched to regular tylenol because the lortab didn't help the headaches and that was worse than anything else. My mom was getting very upset with me because I was getting so dehydrated but I couldn't help it so I know what you mean.
  17. For the first time I felt something go down the band, a tylenol pm gelcap. It was weirrrrd!
  18. I started feeling pretty good yesterday afternoon. They sent me home with an On Q Pain pump catheter stuck in my belly which I pulled out yesterday, that made a big difference in how I was feeling, probably mostly because I couldnt take a shower until it was out, talk about feeling nasty! I'm starting to feel hunger for the first time - I just woke up this morning and my stomach is growling and making all kinds of a racket. All in all I fell pretty good, I think I'm going to go back to work tomorrow, two days earlier than I had planned.
  19. Hello mums, I had my surgery the same day as yours. I don't start mushies until a week from Tuesday so I don't have much info to offer, just wanted to say good luck!
