  1. Hi: I am Canadian, and our medical alert bracelet has the symbol of the medical profession (it looks like a snake wrapped around a staff). I agree with the thought you should stick to what the medical professionals will recoganize otherwise you defeat the purpose of the bracelet. I purchased mine from the medicalert.ca for $35.00 Cdn. Doddie
  2. Argon where are you from? It seems we are on the web at the same time, we must be from the west??? Doddie
  3. Nancy C: Where are you from. I am from N. Vancouver BC
  4. Yessssssssss~! I like that. My bracelet is starting to be too large. Love it. Better than stepping on the weighscale. Doddie
  5. Argon, they don't require a yearly subscription. YOu can order only the bracelet. I have the yearly subscription because I need to update the medical problems and medication frequently. Also, there are other benefits if you go to the website you can read them. Doddie
  6. I have the basic stainless steel and it is featherweight light. If you go on the website, you can see it. The front is a very styleish (sp) medical symbol and on the back are listed the band, diabetes and up to 5 medical problems. A medic would recoqnize it instantly but no one can read what is on the back unless you let them. And I eat, sleep and shower with it on. I even go to the aqua fit classes with it on. It never comes off. It is so "unnoticeable" that I had to point it out to our aqua fit instructor and lifeguard. Frankly, if you have the band, the literature recommends you have the medic alert bracelet or necklace or broach. It gives me a very nice reassured feeling of safety. Doddie
  7. Another point I should make, I wear the bracelet and not one single person had asked me what it is. In fact, I had to point it out to my doctor and he said "what is that ". When I told him it was medica alert he said great. It is feather light, and I never take it off even going thru airport security. Hope I have convinced a few of you can be a life saver. Doddie
  8. The website is "medicalert.ca". doddie
  9. Hi: I am wearing the bracelet and got it specifically for the band, although I am diabetic, high blood pressure etc. In fact when I ordered it, the technician called me and told me he couldn't get it all on the band.LOL. Anyway get one. You can get all sorts like broaches, necklace, gold bracelets, silver bracelets just go to the website. They are terrific people to deal with and everytime you go on line and make changes, they send you a new wallet card as well if you are in an accident, the doctors name are on record to be contacted. Doddie
  10. Good thing we were out like a light. What we don't know won't hurt us. However they did it, I am glad they did. Doddie
  11. Don't know if they were standing or not I was out like a light. I have seen TV where the doc is sitting with the computer scope and arms and assumed they sit. I guess putting in the band is like using a joystick.
  12. djhickm: You are posting messages. There is such a thing as a live chat room but you will need someone to chat to on the other end. You can sign on and "talk" to someone instantly as they respond instantly. With posts, I can post, log off and you will still get my message. Chat room are like you and I sitting in a livingroom chatting only we type. Take a look at the top border and you will see "chat". Click on that and see where it takes you. Doddie
  13. They told me as I got on the table, but I was so busy trying not to fall off, I never thought about where anyone was sitting. There fault if a little gas came floating by. doddie
  14. Fancee free congratulations. I dream of that day you are an inspiration. Doddie
  15. You are not a wet blanket. All of us at one time or the other have experienced the pain of slipping back into old habits. That is why the websites are so special. We are not judgmental just want to help and support. I have trouble where I live finding someone to give me a fill. I have to fly 3000 miles at a cost of $1,000.00 so I too have my down days. I am far too loose but money doens't grow on trees so I have to make do with my 3 ccs until I can fly out again. My weigh is very slow in cominf off. Doddie
  16. Marcar you have the rest of your life to reach goal. Just relax and enjoy the journey. At your stage, you have to heal. Follow the rules and enjoy the results. Doddie
  17. I have so many scars from surgery, I consider them "my tatoos". now if i could only find some boobs when I am at goal, I would be "in" doddie
  18. djhickm: why don't you go for a fill. If you can pig out, you are far too loose. Also, pigging out once is not the end of the world. The band is only a tool to help you keep your eating in check. You will have your days where you could have done better. Don't give up just resolve not to do it again anytime soon. Doddie
  19. Hi: I didn't gain, but I didn't loose much either. Doddie
  20. Hi Thanks your instructions are exactly correct. I managed to find a link that told me what to do and it worked. Thanks for responding. Doddie
  21. Who wears a bra? LOL I hope when I loose some weight, I will finally see my boobs. Doddie
  22. Hi Bejeweled. Really happy everything went well with you and that you remembered me way out here in the boonies. I did not need a repair for a flipped port, my port is just on an awkward angle. Nancy has told me how to tell my doctor out here how to position his fingers on the port and the angle of the needle. Hopefully everything will work out. Remember to take it slowly, don't rush going into the next stages of your food. Make sure you are ready. My goal is to go two weeks without PBing and so far I have made ten days. Sip liquids don't gulp, small bites, chew, chew, chew that is what I keep telling myself. I also have a timer for when I must stop eating. Keep posting. Really want to hear how you are doing. Doddie
  23. and has a bite if you tell him you are drinking carbonated drinks. Doddie
  24. This drink was recommended to me by Donna D. Nestea with Spenda. I buy the field berry an all natural fruit flavour with a splash of real tea. I put one packet into a bottle of water shake it and have a wonderful refreshing drink. 5 calories. Doddie
  25. Hi: With the new proceedure of "not anchoring" the port, mine is on a very awkward slant. The fill nurse in our clinic can put in a fill fairly quickly but when my doctor tries, after twenty minutes and 8 or 10 punctures he is unable to do it and I look like a pin cushion black and blue that is. The problem with my fill nurse is she is 3,000 miles away. Anyone else have this problem?:phanvan
