  1. Well I am at 5 1/2 months out and doing great!! No problems so far, no vomiting so far!! scale is moving at the pace I wanted so as to not have too much loose skin! I have a little bit but I am old - lol - well not really old, just turned 51 Thursday!! Feeling so fabulous, almost like I am 35 again!! I would do this again and have no regrets other than of course I didn't do it 10 years ago! My favorite part of my whole journey is that I have kicked all diabetes and blood pressure meds and no longer use a sleep apnea device!! My diabetes A1C has been 5.7% the last two checks!! I am not a work out freak but I do exercise everyday by walking. Sometimes I am frolicking (lol) in the ocean or swimming in a pool or even roller skating!! I thank God everyday for this procedure!! I know I don't post much on here anymore, occasionally I stop in, but that doesn't mean I don't care, just busy with life! If you have questions feel free to personal message me and I will chat with you! God bless you all and check out my before and after album in my profile under Gallery if you want!!
  2. People are telling me I am skinny now - and I tell them "can I carry you around in my pocket please" - LOL - goal is 135 - almost there!! whoo hoo!!
  3. Amen NancyJerry! Just keep on doing the best you can and don't compare yourself to others!
  4. I got a bunch of stuff from a girl in California and paid the shipping to Texas. Huge box cost me $35 - it was well worth it!
  5. Fabulous job!! Just log it if it goes in your mouth. Cut your carbs and increase your water. Just a start anyway. Congrats on goal!!
  6. Same here on the diabetes and blood pressure. Haven't had any meds since day before surgery and last A1C was 5.7 - whoo hoo!! You got this girl and congrats on taking control of your life! "My boyfriend......." make that "MY EX-boyfriend" - what an ass he doesn't deserve to be a part of your life or that child's with an attitude like that! (I can say that because I had one that said pretty close to the same kinda thing years ago when I was a size 5 - wanted me to lose more weight. So I gained more to hide myself instead of dumping his sorry ass!!
  7. I have one cup of coffee a day.
  8. I drank my morning coffee up until the day before surgery But, that was me - they didn't rule it out and it was liquid!
  9. When she brings it up again and she will, just look at her and say "How does me taking control of my life, health and weight and the way I choose to do that affect you in any way?" and then smile really big of course!! That should send her packing and let her know you aren't interested and her opinion isn't going to change your mind.
  10. Whoo hoo!! I am almost 3 months out and I too am rejoining life! Going to the beach, lake, dinner, etc with friends, not feeling like cancelling plans because I don't feel well or am embarrassed! It is such an awesome feeling and I love my "sleeved" life!!
  11. Could it be time for new batteries in the digital scale?
  12. Absolutely positively YES!
  13. Just a stall! You will be fine and will start losing again! I have had them last 2 weeks. Just keep walking, eating what you are allowed, getting your protein and your water in. It will start again, but during the meantime start looking at your body in the mirror everyday and I guarantee you will see some changing going on. Good luck and congrats on your sleevie!!
  14. I was on 3 meds for my diabetes. Insulin, Victoza and Metformin x2 a day. I quit the Victoza at the start of my 2 week pre-op diet and adjusted my insulin at my PCP's direction as my sugars started dropping over those two weeks. I started the 2 weeks taking 80 units a night and ended it taking 35 units. I continued the Metformin throughout the entire 2 weeks. They gave me two shots of insulin in the hospital as my sugars were over 180 but less than 200. I took no meds after I left the hospital for my diabetes. Sugars running around 110 fasting. Less than 60 days out of surgery my diabetic A1C was down to 5.7%. It was 6.7% before surgery with the 3 meds. A bonus: my high blood pressure is back into the normal ranges. I was on 2 meds before surgery. No meds since surgery for that one either. Test daily at least 3 times a day and have a plan in place with your PCP as to what you should do as it lowers. Good luck and God bless you!
  15. 3 months out - real hunger nope - sometimes forget to eat. Most days though I eat when I am suppose to and when I get that empty feeling. Water will usually satisfy that. I usually carry some Atkins protein bars around with me or cheese sticks just to make sure I get my protein in for the day, especially if I am running around town.
  16. I chose the sleeve for because I didn't want my insides rerouted either. But, doesn't mean it doesn't work for others. I just knew after much research that the Sleeve was meant for me. Less than 60 days out of surgery I accomplished what I wanted and knocked my diabetic A1C down to 5.7% and my high blood pressure back into the normal ranges - all of this without the 5 medications I was on to control those two diseases before surgery. I am proud of myself for taking control and making such a smart decision. Good luck with your new life and kudos for taking the time to reflect on what you want from the surgery. God bless!
  17. I am 60+ days out and very happy with my decision.
  18. Just tell them you have started a new routine by dieting and exercising and have lost (fill in the blank) ________ pounds so far. Tell them you are doing proteins first, etc and that protein is very filling. Let them know that even though you are on vacation you have made a life decision to make changes and won't be persuaded to derail yourself. Then move the conversation on........ Have fun and don't let them decide when you have your surgery!
  19. Have someone take a picture of you - you will see it! Congrats on your progress and no stalls!
