  1. I Have a silly question I think but I'm curious. This summer I plan on going to a park with roller coaster rides. Has anyone with a lap band been on fast rides and had any bad reaction with their band? I've always been nervous about rides making me sick - even before lap band. Now I'm wondering if having a band will make it worse, better, or no difference. Thanks!
  2. Jay Robb is a good one. And GNC has protein Jello. They have 20+ grams I believe!!!
  3. Thanks everyone for replying!! Yes, I do exercise, 5 days a week, 30 min walk up and down steep hills. I will reduce my calories some more and see how that goes.
  4. Yep! Me too! See my post about calories. I think I titled it no progress. ??? LOL I can't remember now! LOL
  5. How many calories do you eat daily? I have been at a depressing stand still this month. I resigned to keeping a food diary which I hate doing. But in that process I learned I am consuming about 1300 calories a day. I have a few online friends who have the LB, and they aim for under 1000 a day. So that made me think I am eating too much. however, according to an REE I had done it said I need to consume 1900 calories a day to lose weight. An REE is a device that measures your resting metabolism and how many calories needed to lose or maintain. SO..... If the REE is right, I'm probably not losing weight because I'm going into "starvation mode"??? What do you all think? I will go for another fill in 9 days, and i will ask them, but I was curious of what everyone here thought. Thanks!
  6. I need to lose 100 pounds. I chose LB because I felt the alternative was too extreme for me. If I was 200 lbs over weight, I would have chosen otherwise.
  7. I battle my "weekend fat girl" all the time! LOL! My husband is supportive but continues to eat poorly. We have always been each others enablers. Plus we've always used food as a reward or made food an "event". It is very difficult. My husband was away on business for 2 weeks. I lost 8 pounds. The weekend he came home, I GAINED 5 pounds!!!! You can be sure, I now have a very clear view of the problem and I know what to do about it. I need to kick my will power into a higher gear! But I've gotta say, all this Easter candy in the stores isn't masking it any easier!
  8. GOODNESS! I feel lucky! I had to be on a "liver shrinking diet" for only one week prior to surgery. And that consisted of chicken, fish, salads, and protein shakes. After surgery it was just a one month process of getting back to normal food. First liquids for week one, then blended for week 2 and mushy foods for weeks 3&4. It was easy. I'm so glad I didn't have to be on liquids for as long as some. God bless you!
  9. I was banded 9-22-11 by dr. Swain. I am very happy with him and his office!!
  10. Thanks for everyone's posts! I wish I had the self control some of you have.... But I know one day I will. But for now, I simply can't have a temptation item in my possession. Because I will eat an entire bag of chocolate!!! Eek! LOL. glad to know I do not face this alone!
  11. Hey everyone! I am 5 months post-op and have lost 40lbs and 17 inches! But I'd be a fool if I didn't admit I am still tempted by my biggest weakness... CANDY! It doesn't help that every holiday seems to center around candy! With Easter approaching, I am going insane! LOL! I love Cadbury candy coated chocolate eggs! (Lord help me!). But I was wondering, if any of you face the same temptations, and what you do to remain strong. I realized this morning that I simply cannot have any candy item in my house. I really can't help myself! So I'm looking for inspiration!
  12. I heard Jay Rob is good. GNC also sells a 20g protein jello.
  13. To my understanding yes if you purée it. But yuck! LOL
  14. Hello! First I would tell you to see your doc! It is strange that the tightness came virtually out of nowhere! But I don't think I'm too worried. For sure though, you should NOT live with a band so tight that you can only keep liquids down. Good luck!
