  1. Speak for yourself, I'm headed to TJ Wed!
  2. Alp!!!! So glad to hear you are doing well and knowing you are a physician really puts my mind at ease! Thank you! Headed there tomorrow!
  3. Dr Aceves, Dr Alvarez and Dr Kelly all said the same thing: they prefer covidian. All have used both Covidian and J&J and all prefer covidian, but all also said J&J is just fine, just a little more cumbersome.
  4. FTR, it's not a "special" stapler, and most of these drs use either covidian or J&J. I know this because I asked every one of them and they all had the same answer. .
  5. It really depends on what I said above. The drain would not be a guaranteed identifier of a leak anyway. So it's dependent on your doctor, your size, how surgery goes, etc. some doctors put drains in all, some put them in only when necessary.
  6. Dr Kelly does use drains sometimes. It really depends on how surgery goes and whether or not he feels it is necessary. People are scared of them but you really shouldn't be!
  7. Dr Kelly does not use a coordinator. I am going to him this week along with about 6 other people! (different surgery dates tho) You can reach Dr Kelly through his facilitator, Omar. 619-395-5347 wls-clinic@hotmail.com
  8. You probably could to some extent, but why? Even if you have a medical issue that prevents much of it, find a way to get moving.... you'll feel better!
  9. Wow hopefully a blessing in disguise!!! I hope everything turns out OK!
  10. Tia you've probably told me already but when are you headed to TJ?
  11. May I ask where you are in CA? I need a good PCP! Mine doesn't support this at all.
  12. I've read that these are a real side effect from the VSG. Arrgh! Keep us posted on how you're doing!!
  13. So Cam, what is the outcome? Did they find out what the problem is?
  14. Ha! You should smell my house!! Wonderful! I wonder why it's not recommended more often for sleeve patients?
  15. Sweet! Great to know! Seems like perfect post op food!
  16. Sorry??? It's very much appreciated!
  17. Hey Sweetie, this is exactly the info I've found, but it's from the internet and you know you can't always trust that info. I was hoping someone from here would have a NUT who recommended this for them... and maybe start a conversation. I know Blackberry does Paleo and this is a staple from there... so trying to start a conversation.... thank you so much!!!
  18. I guess nobody here knows anything about the healthy aspects of bone broth.
  19. So is it not a good idea to do it the day of surgery?? Now I'm not sure.
  20. Because I have had some issues with heartburn, I requested that Dr Kelly scope me before surgery to make sure everything is healthy and OK for surgery. We are planning to do it first, and then go to surgery if everything is OK. Has anyone else been scoped? Does it leave you with a sore throat?
  21. Oh man you just made me really happy with my decision to have my surgeon scope me before surgery. I just want to make sure there are no surprises.
  22. Thanks guys. I'm right after Cissie and my nerves are all over the place as well as my emotions! Arrgh!
  23. Awww!!! I am SO pre op and emotional! I totally cried. LOL
