  1. Goofy, what doctor are you using again? We are gonna go ahead and try to commit to a surgery date today - and maybe bumping it up a bit to June 14th.
  2. Good to know! I see they carry them at Wal-Greens... maybe I'll pick one up today. Thanks!
  3. Now you guys are making ME want to see MINE! Dr. Kelly is gonna wonder where we all got this idea! LOL GOOD LUCK! I can't wait to hear about your experience!!!
  4. www.cornellweightlosssurgery.org If you look on the right side there are nutritional guidelines for the different types of surgery!!! And all sorts of other info!
  5. Oh man somewhere on here someone recommended a website that has a TON of info on it about pre op foods, post op, etc. is it Cornell website?? I saved it on my computer, I'll post it later! I wonder if your doctor would let you share some of the info on here??
  6. Ugg I do not like Protein shakes and I'm trying to find SOMEthing I like. I've recently tried the protein shots, too... and the Carnivore liquid Protein has less of a funny smell than the whey Proteins. And 50 grams of protein in that little bottle! I diluted it with some Water and it wasn't too bad.... That said, I also know that I may not like any of these after surgery! But trying to get an idea NOW of the ones I know I hate for sure.
  7. I'm shooting for June 18 with Dr. Kelly in Mexico myself.... I haven't seen anybody else with this date yet! I need a sleeve sister/brother!
  8. Willow, I'm glad you are doing so well! But please be careful. Your stomach is not completely healed yet and eating things you are not supposed to eat puts you at higher risk for complications. I would consider following your doctor's diet recs. to the "t" so that you don't have any problems, even if you are feeling great! The diet they put you on is specifically designed to give your stomach time to heal. So be careful!!
  9. The staples are titanium so no, they do not set off the detectors and yes you can still get an MRI. I bought and read Dr. Alvarez's book about the sleeve surgery and it is GREAT! I highly recommend you read it! I cannot, in my mind, understand how the staples could cause problems down the road. The staples aren't holding your stomach together for life. Your stomach does eventually heal and grows scar tissue over the staple line. So I wonder what was going on with the other surgery? I do wish we had more long term data on this surgery but it is what it is.
  10. Yes what exactly are the "serious issues" that they experienced? I think that procedure also has a band implant... Can you tell us more?
  11. I feel exactly like that. In fact I even convinced myself I was gonna low carb it AGAIN because, surely, I can do this! Then I went to the store, bought a bunch of meat and instantly felt let down. I have done this multiple times. It works for a little while, then I go back to my old habits. So I know surgery is for me. I have probably talked to more people, posted more stupid questions than anyone and it keeps leading back to... This is the right decision. I've even spent a week backing out in my mind ecause of the hair loss!!! And I'm slowly making peace with that, too!!! Good luck and let us know what you decide.
  12. Do you know how long it takes for us to start seeing new growth?
  13. I know!! It's the ONLY reason I am scheduling for June 18th and not sooner.
  14. Yes you could!!! That's why I am asking about these. If they are good it might be easier to just get a dozen or so.
  15. Me neither but I'm gonna order a few and try them. Sure would be convenient in those early weeks...
  16. I sooo wish I could go with you guys on the 9th but we already bought expensive Van Halen tickets and I can't miss that. LOL
  17. Their website is here: http://www.newlifebariatricsupplements.com/ I know you can make it too but this would be super convenient if they are any good. anybody tried them?
  18. Has anybody tried these? $3 each but worth it for the liquids phase post op?
  19. A bowel obstruction??? From what??
  20. I'm hoping for June 18 with Dr Kelly in Tijuana.
