I started in June 2011 and had my surgery Jan 25, 2012, so a lil over 6 months. The center I go to requires alot of things to be done prior to surgery. I had to attend 3 support group session, attend a nutrition class, had ekg's and chest xrays and ultrasound, leg ultra sounds, psych consult, tons of blood work, visits with nurse practioner I had to lose 10% of my body weight it feels like I am leaving something out, but at any rate I had to go through alot of stuff and it was all good though. I appreciate the center I went through for having the pt go through this made me feel like they were really trying to put our saftey first.

It's my personal opinion, I don't care if the Dr. or whoever gets perks or not (not trying to be a smart a**) as long as I can see that this just might me in the best interest of me. I have never had any type of surgery prior to this, so how do I know if I am prone to blood clots or not. I appreciate the precautionary measures made for me.

Well, my Drs. ofc does require every patient to take the Lovenox injections at home for 14 days as a precautionary measure and I'm ok with that, because I would rather be safe than dead from a blood clot. The Lovenox injections are not expensive if you have insurance iguess depending on your insurance and how much they cover (don't know how much they are without) I paid $20 for the brand name 14 day supply 2 injections a day and would have been able to get the generic for $10. I don't find this to be mindless medicine when there is always a possibility that anything just might happen.

How many calories is in that can of nectar, and what all did you put in it. You still have to be very careful about the amount of calories you intake. Now if it is low in calories, please do share with the rest of us.......

I can imagine how good this feels. I can't wait and am so glad I didn't throw my old clothes away. I have so many nice items I just couldn't depart from them. Now I have the opportunity to wear them again....... Whoooooo rayyyyyyyyy!!!!!! BTW, I have been every woman from a size 16 to a size 22, once I got to that size refused to buy anything bigger......

I don't know what this is all about but I am 14 days post-op today and I spit also, but it is not a constant thing. I have not returned to work tho and will not be returning for another 2 weeks.

Yeah, and I think everyone needs to talk to them directly and stop listening to everything that is being said on here. you can't please all of the people all the time. If you have aleady made your decision and you are comfortable with then go with it and stop listening to all the rubbish.

I am very sorry to hear about your situation especially since I know so many people have such an awesome family support group. I don't mean any disrespect, but ask your mother since when did women start carrying babies in their stomach as oppose to their uterus...... BAM!!!!!

This is my personal opinion I would find a totally different facility with different Drs. and go there, too much drama with this group of drs.

I am only 10 days post op and I swollow mine whole, and have no problems.

I did through my IV about a hour before surgery and every 8 hours after that during my stay in the hospital. Once I got home for the first 14 days I have to administer Lovenox injections 2 times a day.

I had some of the same issues. When I first came home from the hospital, I think I barely drank anything for the first 3 days. I had no appetite and all the rumbling going on with my stomach after I did drink something made me not want anything. That 4th day I was scared I was going to become dehydrated so at that time i started to force myself to drink. I am also on medication and use to crush my blood pressure medicine up. That became so gross I couldn't do it anymore so I just break it in half now. I take one half in the morning and the other half in the evening.

I am so glad I got up this morning and startred searching for answers and ran across this web page. I was sleeved on 1-25-12 and was discharged to home on 1-27-12, I understand you completely. I don't have the nausea anymore I think it is because I have stopped using so much of the pain medications. Last night I said to my boyfriend I hope I don't end up regreting this. It has been very hard for me to get anything down, due to the fact that I can't stand the feeling my stomach makes everytime I try to drink something ( I call them stomach spasms). Now I am worried that I will become dehydrated. I have another issue I take high blood pressure medication that needs to be crushed up, is their anyone who has had problems taking there medications and if not what were your methods used. pls help me too.
