  1. I am so excited!
  2. It is completely normal to be nervous. Just remember that the journey has begun. This is what we've wished for and it is the stepping stone to unlock the new you! I am just 5 days post-op and I feel great. The surgery is something these doctors do so many of and you are going to be fine. I hope you find ease.
  3. Lol....anyone who says that they didn't cheat even the tiniest...i will question their honesty.
  4. I only had a 1-week fast. The first 2 days I had a heavy headache. I did find it hard to follow the diet but for the most part, I did it. Confession, one day I took a bite of my daughter's pizza. =-( I was just banded yesterday and I feel great! I would definitely suggest that you do nothing but rest the day of your surgery. My surgery was at 8:00am and I was home a little past noon. I needed to sleep a lot the day of surgery. However, it is Day 2 and I am walking around with no problem! In fact, I planned to start work on Monday but I have decided that I will be fine to start tomorrow. Everyone is different and everyone's body responds to surgeries differently. Good Luck!
  5. Thanks everyone! It's night #1 and I am very impressed with my comfort level. I can't wait to hear everyone else's stories!
  6. WooHoo! I was banded this morning. For the most part, I feel good, considering. I am walking around the house just fine. FYI...the worst part, for me, is the pain in my chest and especially me neck! The left side of my neck feels like I have 5 pulled muscles in one spot. This is all from the gas and as soon as that goes away, life will be great! Congrats to all who were also banded and the others with a lapband in their very near future!
  7. I begin my pre-op diet tomorrow. I am looking forward to the journey. My surgery is August 1st so my pre-op diet is one week. I notice that many people have 2+ weeks of pre-op diet. Why the variation? Any insight? I'm just curious.
  8. Thank you all. It is comforting to not feel alone with my thoughts. tiggergramma, thank you!
  9. ...of failure? I'm sure this is somewhat normal but I just want to hit the ground running and find success. I am mostly nervous about the time between having the surgery and the first fill. My doctor schedules the first fill after 4-6 weeks of the surgery. Do people still lose during that time? My surgery is August 1st. I'm excited for the journey.
  10. I am scheduled for August 1st! I go next Friday for all my pre-op labs, meetings etc. I begin my pre-op diet on the 25th. Then, I am so excited to be banded on August 1st! I look forward to getting to know you all. =-)
