Good evening, Violets.. I just got my Grady fix. Kris and Nathan dropped him off here while they went grocery shopping. I got to hold him for almost an hour. So kewl. I have pics I'll post in a little bit. Terry.. I've got the chicken in the oven as I type. It sure smells good. I added onion flakes, parsley and minced garlic to the recipe. I almost called you from Walmart today. I was there getting a birthday card for Jen's son and decided to get the ingredients for the chicken, but I didn' thave the recipe with me. Luckily I remembered all of it. Reception isn't very good in Walmart so I didn't want to call and then not be able to hear you or you understand me.. lol I've spent most of the day recording our concert onto the computer so I could burn it to a CD. Finally got that figured out and now have to make copies for the group. Off to work on some choir music and then look forward to Desperate Housewives tonight. Catch ya later!

Good Morning, Violets... I'm up and dressed for church. Just have to curl my hair and put on my make up. I had a granola bar for breakfast and am waiting to start my first liter of water. It's 22 degrees right now and ice all over from all the snow that melted yesterday and froze last night. It's supposed to get up to 50 today and then 20 tonight, so it will be the same thing. The Bobster left at 7:15 as he is preaching at a church 3 hours away. He won't be home until this evening, so I have the whole day to myself. What to do, what to do?? A nap is in order for sure. Terry.. I haven't had a chance to try the chicken yet, but definitely this coming week. It's on my grocery list! Gotta scoot and get ready. Everyone have a great day! Good evening, Violets.. Back from the dinner and get together. It was loads of fun and I resisted the Baklava and the chocolate cheese ball, but Bob and I did split a small piece of banana cream pie. It was DELISH!! We only had a salad, a small piece of corn pudding and some baked beans for supper so we didn't do too badly. Time to relax and watch some tv and then head to bed. Everyone sleep well!!

Good evening, Violets. Just up from a little nap. I have baked beans in the crock pot to take to dinner tonight as the New Day Singers get together. Support group was great today. There were 16 of us there including 2 gastric bypass people and 4 who will be having lapband in the near future. I have to let you know that we are all struggling with plateaus there. I'm concerned about one lady who was banded in October, has lost 40+ pounds, but is at her limit as far as fills. She's 8.5 in a 9cc band and says she's hungry all the time. She doesn't eat much at a sitting, but is constantly grazing. She asked how I do it, and I said I was the same way until I took the pouch test and it got my head back in the game. It's a mind thing with head hunger, not real hunger. I wasn't hungry, but I was putting food in my mouth every time I went by the kitchen. I hope she can get herself under control. It's a tough thing to do, but at least she is getting exercise and isn't gaining. This is a tough road to hoe and takes constant attention. Tonight there will be Baklava and banana cream pie at the dinner. I must be strong, I must resist!!! We shall see. Time to get dressed to go. Everyone have a good evening.

Good Morning again, Violets.. I got up again at 7:30 and feel like I've been run over by a truck. Hopefully I can get a nap in this afternoon. I'm sure it's a residual effect from the build up to the concert last night. We're headed out to breakfast in a little bit and then to the lapband support goup meeting. I copied most of the thread "You know you're a Bandster when....." and will read that at the meeting. That should add a little humor to the meeting. Headed to get some groceries after that and then out to a dinner party with the other singers to celebrate a good concert. Have a great day! Make wise choices.. I'm trying to!!

Good Morning, Violets.. I bet I'm the first one up this morning!! Actually, I got really warm and realized the Bobster didn't turn the heat down last night when he came to bed. So I had to get up and go downstairs and turn it down from 70 to 64. Now it will take a while to cool off. Of course the garage dog wanted out. She went back upstairs to sleep, so I guess I will too. I'm trying not to find something to eat. Success so far. See you in the morning....... again!

Back from the concert. It was a hit. Now it's off to bed and hopefully a full nights' sleep. Lapband Support group is tomorrow. Everyone have a good evening. Sleep well!!

Off to my concert... Note to self.. do not try to eat a few bites of left over fajita salad before a concert. Even though you don't think you are nervous, your band is telling you otherwise... big pb episode.. yuck. Catch you all later this evening!!

Sorry.. don't do Twitter. I'm a facebook kinda girl. I love being able to talk to former Kindergarten students on there. Ethan is taking a breather from Wii bowling and is "reading" some of his books. I need to go practice a little for the concert tonight. Sure will be glad when that is done!! Catch everyone later.. Good Morning, Violets.. I got to sleep in late today since Ethan doesn't come until noon. Good thing too since I tossed and turned all night. Our concert is this evening so of course all the songs were running through my head. I get to wear the yucky black shirts someone picked out for the ladies to wear, but the nifty part is I will wear my size 10 black pants and I will NOT be the heaviest woman in the group. yippeeeeeee!! (also not the thinnest, but that's ok). Michelle... so what you're saying is "keep Judy separated from the rest of the group?" hmmmmmmmmm You get the lovely house and I get the BASEMENT??? What's wrong with this dream??????? 6 degrees here right now and the only thing that is keeping me sane is the fact that two weeks and one day from right now this very minute, we'll be on a plane to Hawaii!!!! Jane...hope your neighbor does well and hope he shares with you!! :thumbup: TracyinKS... ummmm you WANT the dog to lick the stitches so you put tightie whiteies on him??????? Off to take my shower and get ready for the day. Everyone make it a good one!!!

Good evening, Violets.. Ethan left at 4 and I laid down for an hour long nap. I was one pooped Gramma. I fixed beef short ribs in the crockpot with a couple of potatoes and some baby carrots. The meat was from Schwans and was super tasty, but didn't go down well. I PB'd and Bob could only eat one little piece. We ate the potato and carrots and called it a meal. I put the rest in the fridge and we'll try it again tomorrow for lunch. Kat.. I talked to Kris today and she said she feels like a cow.. all she does is get milked all day. She also said she thinks she has a dog instead of a baby. All he does is eat, sleep and poop. I welcomed her to the realities of motherhood.:w00t: PamELa.. I saw that email awhile back. Cute! Nothing planned for this evening except for watching CSI. I got all my laundry done today and the house is in pretty good shape even after Ethan was here all day. Everyone have a good evening. I'll check in later on the laptop while I'm watching tv.

Suzie.. my pool is still under about 6 inches of snow on the cover. I hope to get into it the end of April. It's 18 degrees here right now. Not quite swimming weather. I haven't even been in the hot tub much this winter. There was either too much snow or it was too darn cold!

After I get done THINKING about it, I'm getting my ticket this month!

Good evening, Violets.. It's been a fun day. Ethan was here all afternoon. I had a great flute rehearsal this morning and then a church meeting. When I got home, Ethan was so excited to see me. That sure makes me feel good. I took him to his home and his brother so I could go to choir. Had dinner out with friends and I couldn't eat a thing except for a couple of pieces of chicken. I ordered what I always used to order in my fat days when I thought I was being healthy.. chicken fajita salad. I brought the whole salad home. I'll know better next time. Kris, Nathan and Grady came over after they had their taxes done, so I got to have my Grady fix. I also got to change my first Grady diaper. Kris has lost 20# and looks so much better than when I saw her on Saturday. Her stomach is almost a normal looking one already. I'm so glad for her. I told her not to be upset if people asked when she was going to have her baby... that's how big she was, but now ...no problem. TracyK... I'm really going to miss you in Alabama!!! Suzie.. I don't Twitter, but I do Facebook. I love it because I'm finding some of my former Kindergarten students all grown up. It sure is strange remembering how they looked in Kindergarten and then seeing them as adults! Time to watch CSI:NY and then head to bed Ethan comes over first thing tomorrow morning. Bob leaves for a meeting out of town and hopefully Joe will come and pick up Ethan on time so I can get to choir rehearsal. Denise... HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Good evening, Violets.. It's been a very quiet day here today. No Grady, but then I forgot his doctor's appointment is in a town closer to Kris and not here in Alpena. So I don't know when I'll get to see him next. The dogs are groomed and look so cute. I'm off to my New Day Singer's rehearsal. Last one before our concert Friday. TracyK.. I commented on your blog. Tracy, you know how I feel. I've been at a plateau for months now.. almost a year actually. I gained 13# and lost the 13#, but nothing since. The lady that got me onto lapband info and had hers done a few weeks after me has lost 115#!!! I've lost 60# and I think that's great until I think about her and then I get discouraged. And then when I think it's been 2 years and that's only 30# a year!! BUT.. we are all different. I'm not her and you're not me. You need to take care of you and not worry about the scale or how everyone else is doing. Get rid of the things that are hurting you. concentrate on protein. Cheese, meat, yogurt. Don't make cookies if you can't resist them. Don't buy the ice cream. Let Frank take Macy out if they need it. But YOU need to take care of YOU! YOU are the most important part of the lap band journey. Do you know how awesome ALL of us would be doing if we were close enough to exercise together, call for someone to spend time with us when temptation calls, just be near each other???? But we're not and we really have to be true to ourselves. We have no one to answer to but ourselves. So keep on keeping on. Don't let it get you down. Just like an alcoholic, it's one day at a time, one meal at a time. Love ya!!!!!!!!

Good afternoon, Violets.. I'm back from my hospital shift, luncheon and taking the dogs to the groomers. It sure is quiet around here without the dogs and Ethan. Nothing on my agenda for the rest of the day except picking up the dogs in a couple of hours and then rehearsal tonight for a couple of hours. We are under a high wind advisory for tonight and tomorrow morning. They are calling for gust of 50-60 mph. Batten down the hatches!! It was raining this morning with a little snow mixed in. I hope the roads don't get bad before I have to leave tonight. TracyinKS posted on Facebook that she had been in an accident. "Battle of the fords..... my f-150 crew cab vs a Mustang.... rain and careless young driver....... don't worry I had a dukes of hazzard moment and landed in a bed of soft grass... I'm all right.. my truck not so much....... but better than the stang........ could of been a lot worse....... upside is the police officer complimented me by saying that I was a "hellofa" driver." PamELa.. got your card in the mail today. Thank you soooo much!! I'm going to give the gift card to Kristin today... hopefully she'll come over after Grady's doctor's appointment. I haven't seen the little squirt since Saturday and I'm having Grady withdrawal pains!!
