Good morning, Violets and HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TERRY!!:party: What a night last night! I brought Jetta in because a storm was coming and it got here at 4 a.m. She was on my bed right by my head panting so hard I felt like I was in a magic fingers bed!! And you have to remember she is aBIG dog.. German Shepherd size. Needless to say I didn't get much sleep last night. But at least she has been good with the yorkies. No doggie appetizers have been consumed yet! We're up and waiting for Ethan now and hopefully he'll take a nap this morning, cause Grandma sure needs one! Everyone have a good day and I'll check in when I can.

Good evening, Violets. I'm writing this quickly cause our power has gone off twice now since I got back from Kris's house and we are supposed to get a bad storm tonight. I'm bringing Jetta in for the night so I won't wake up to a big hole in the door. I'm going out to the hot tub now. since the power went out, the tub heater is off and it takes a genius to get it going again. The Bobster is going to try and talk me through it tomorrow. I had a nice dinner with Kris. Ordered a cup of chicken vegetable soup and had that and 1/3 of a Maurice salad. The waitress wanted to know if the salad was ok since I didn't eat much. Told her it was fine.. I just couldn't eat much. There was a family there from our church who left after the new pastor came. They have not seen me in about a year. I said hello to them from across two tables and she said.. OMGosh.. I thought you looked familiar, but you looked so thin. THIN!!! She actually said that word and referred to me!!! Woooooooooo hoooooooooooooo NVS's rock. I have to be up one more day at 5:30 before Ethan arrives so I'm headed to bed again. No calling Terry for me since she's an hour behind me, but I do wish her a very Happy Birthday. and just a reminder.. I'm STILL the old lady of the bunch of Violets. HUGS!!

Good Afternoon, Violets.. Ethan just laid down on the couch for a little nap (hopefully). I got my rehearsing in, nails done and picked him up from day care. We went outside here and played with Jetta for awhile and then came in for lunch. I fixed some polish sausage and Ethan ate a couple of bites. I did too, but the difference was, mine all came back up. Apparently polish sausage is right on the list with hot dogs as food I just can't eat. And I LOVE hot dogs.. But I love the new me better so I won't complain. It's cool again here today. 60 degrees for a high , but the sun is out so I turned on the solar panels for the pool. What a weird coincidence. I was thinking about Texas in the hot tub last night and was hearing Pam EL a's voice saying Suzahnee's name too. Are we a bonded group, or what?????? I'm going to try and lay on the other couch and nap too. These early mornings are not conducive to my retirement routine!! Catch ya later!

Wow... REALLY quiet in here! Good morning, Violets. I'm up early again to await Ethan. I have to take him to daycare at 10 so I can go rehearse a song for a funeral on Saturday and then get my nails done. Then I go pick him up for the rest of the day here. I'm going to DD Kristin's house tonight so she and I can go out to dinner and then I can finally watch the 2 hour episode of Desperate Housewives I missed awhile back. 30 divided by .5, move the decimal point makes it 300 divided by 5 = 60 +10=70. Ta Da.... Did I mention I got 11 out of 11?? Love those things. Got to be up at 6 a.m. again for Ethan so I'm headed to bed. Everyone have a good night!! Michelle... CONGRATS on day 3!! I biked for an hour tonight and then did 15 minutes of exercise in the hot tub. I'm pooped.

Good Morning, Violets.. It was a busy, non-stop day yesterday. No time to even catch my breath, let alone post. It's 5:30 a.m. here and the Bobster will be on his way to Washington and his "guys" trip in a few minutes. Ethan comes at 6:00 and will be here for the day. I'm looking forward to a nap after he goes home at 1... Terry.. the pics were great. Such fun memories. I'm definitely ready for a do-over as long as nobody minds the older lady tagging along! I'l be on my own for eating for the next 5 days. No meals to share with the Bobster, but no worries about when and where to eat. And I'm trying to make EVERYday a CTCD. Kat.. hope things have settled down a bit there. I'm going to go read the paper and wait for Ethan to arrive. Everyone have a great day..

My son who lives 5 hours away in a civilized part of the state got the console and the WiiFit for me. I'll meet up with him next week to exchange the goods. I can't wait!!! All the reviews I have read are positive and the demos online are kewl too!

Good Morning, violets.. Ethan is here so no time to chat, but I thought I'd show you a couple of pictures from yesterday. One is before church so you can see a little of the inside and the other is my choir! Im so proud of them, they did such a nice job yesterday. Will check back later if Ethan takes a nap!!

Terry and Kat... welcome back!!! We missed you both. Now if we can get Jennifer to post, we'll be in business! Terry.. the bead lady didn't know how to make the beach boots. They were a pattern that the minister's wife from the sponsoring church had. She said to just tie a square knot at the back and then put a couple of little beads on to finish it off. Easier said than done. If the bead holes had been big enough to put the ends in it would have been fine, but noooooooooooooooo. Suffice it to say, I'm going to stick to singing and playing flute. Beading is NOT for everyone!!! We have doggie valium for our Yorkies when they get groomed. I gave Jetta one the other day, but they take a half hour to take effect and I only gave her a half cause I didn't know exactly how much to give. I'll have to check with the vet. She went bonkers again today during the storm, but I was sound asleep upstairs with the A/C on and didn't even hear the storm. She was fine in the house, so that was good news. Hey.. guess what my son was able to find for me?? A Wii!! He's looking for WiiFit also. I can't wait to try it out. We live out in the boonies and there are no Wii's available here and they are always sold out online. As he says.. he lives in a "civilized" part of the country where he can find such things. sheeeeeeeeesh. The Bobster and I went on a 10 mile bike ride tonight. Sure felt good. I did my exercises in the hot tub too so I did double duty today. I'm headed to bed since Ethan comes early tomorrow. Everyone sleep well. Will check in tomorrow. Nighters, Violets!

Suzie.. we just have to click on them and then we see them bigger. No prob. Here is a pic of my DD Kris in her nursing graduation outfit. I'm sooooooooo proud of her! We had storms today so Jetta, the garage dog is laying next to me right now. She is in a storm kinda like Jenn is on a plane. Only problem is I can't give her several stiff drinks to get her through the storm. Gospel Sunday went very well today. Everyone sang really well and now we're ready to relax for the summer. Bob and his crew leave Wednesday morning, so I'll be on my own for several days.. well, along with Ethan that is. Then two weeks from today at this exact time, I'll be on a ship with Kris and we'll be waving at the shore as we sail away. Can't wait!!!

Good Morning, Violets.. I'm headed to church for Gospel Sunday. My choir wears denim shirts with the church logo on it for this special day. Last year I was wearing a men's XXL and it was tight in the belly. This year I'm wearing a women's XL and it's loose all over except the belly. But I'm wearing it proudly with a pair of size 14 khakis. It's gonna be a hot one again today, but I won't be as uncomfortable as I was a year ago. Everyone have a great day!!

We're back from fishing. I caught a nice size small mouth bass, Kris caught 3 and the Bobster won the prize for catching a HUGE bass. 18" and 3.5# We are a catch and release family so no fish to clean tonight.. The chocolate mousse is made and yes, I had a little bit, but didn't go overboard. There is a ton left for the derby tomorrow. Sorry Big Brown didn't win. Bet Laura had fun anyway. she'll have tales to tell us when she gets back. Pam EL a... hope you had fun with your nephew. Going to go have a Weight Watchers dinner and then get ready for the hot tub and bed. It was 90 here today. My pool is up to 74. Getting close!!

Good Morning, Violets.. No more storms last night, thank goodness. Jetta slept well especially with the doggie valium I gave her! I turned the pump on the pool and took the solar cover off so hopefully with the sun shining today, it should heat up at least past 70!! I have choir rehearsal this morning from 10 - ? Tomorrow is our biggie singing day in church. We have 5 anthems to sing and then we're done for the year. I also sing a couple of solos for my big finish. I am making chocolate mousse today.. pray for me!! We have a Dessert Demolition Derby every year. People sign up to make desserts, then give samples and people bid on them. The winning bids get the dessert made for them later. Sooooooo not only will I be tempted when I make it today, I'll be tempted again when I have to make it for someone else. LOTS of prayers, please!! We're going fishing tonight with DD and DSIL. the Bobster got me a new rod and reel so hopefully I can catch something! Gotta run. Everyone have a great Saturday.

Wow.. really quiet here today. Well, Kris and I went to the beading class. Terry, you have my utmost respect. I discovered I am not cut out to be a beader. Got all my beads lined up for my beach boots and discovered the elastic wouldn't fit in the holes... so back to the drawing board. Got the beads to fit and it was a constant battle to get the right amount so they fit my feet. Then tying off the elastic at the back looks funky, so I wasn't really happy. Then when we went to pay for them and it ended up $24 for these two strands of beads, I was shocked. She was going to charge $70 but then decided that probably the elastic was a lot less expensive than the wire that she said was "the best on the planet"...duh!! So 2 and a half hours and $24 later, I have a pair of beach boots that look almost ok except for the elastic ties in the back that I don't know what to do with.. arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh Let's just say I'll be commissioning my jewelry from you from now on.. I love my cruise bracelet and can't wait to wear it in 16 days! We were under a tornado warning today, the sirens were blaring in town, but nothing happened and we didn't even get the bad storm they were predicting. Jetta, the garage dog was going bonkers so we let her in the house until the thunder died down. She did very well in the house with the two little guys, but she's still way too big to be an inside dog. She's content now and looks like things are back to normal. My swinmming pool temp is only 70 so no pool swimming yet. It has to be 80 before I get in! I'm going to go watch a little tv and read all my Friday tabloids. Everyone have a good evening.

Good Morning, Violets.. It's finally summer here. Temp is 84 right now and I just got back from a long walk with Ethan. Actually I walked and he sat in the stroller. Soooooooo I have my exercise in for the day and it's not even noon yet. DD Kris and I are going to a beading class today. Hopefully we don't both flunk! Jane.. the pandora heart arrived today!! Thank you so much.. it will be a special reminder on my bracelet of a sweet violet. Lunch time here and Ethan is hungry. Everyone have a great day!!

Good evening, Violets.. Suzie.. I was bored today so I changed my avatar. It's my profile pic from ISPQ, my video messaging program. I kinda like it. did you get any bad weather today?? We got a storm this afternoon and our power went out for a little bit, but it turned warmer this evening. The Bobster and I went for a bike ride and I was comfortable in my sweater. Pam EL ah... congrats on the good news on your dissertation. I remember typing out the Bobsters Master's Thesis and then his Doctor of Ministry thesis. It's a huge project and one you're going to be very proud of when it's finished. Not to mention freeing up a lot of your time! I was going to go to my school for their end of the year breakfast, but Ethan is coming tomorrow morning and I really don't feel like getting up at 5:30 to make the 62 mile trip just to have some breakfast. I saw everyone I wanted to see last week for two days of Kindergarten Round Up, so I'm going to skip the breakfast. Terry... I'm going to a beading class tomorrow afternoon. A lady is coming in to show us how to make some bead projects. DD and I are going to make beach boots. Should be fun. Does anybody have a Wii?? DDIL and DS have one and they just got the Wiifit and love it. I'm thinking of getting it, but of course nobody has them in stock around here. I bid on ebay,but the totals were outrageous and I didn't bid higher. TracyK....hope you beat your munchies!!! I'm heading to bed so I can be up when Ethan arrives at 8. And thanks for the Red Wings mention, too. I'm happy at least one sports team from Michigan was able to do well! The Detroit Pistons basketball coach was fired and some of the players will be gone too. As an avid Pistons fan I'm holding my breath until I hear who will be leaving.

Good Morning, Violets.. It's a lazy day here today. No meetings, no Ethan, no nuthin. We're supposed to get thunderstorms today and that always sends Jetta, the garage dog, into hysterics. The Bobster has to get the cover on the boat propped up so rain doesn't collect in it. I bought him a new system, but after opening it today we discover a wing nut is missing.. grrrrrrrrrr Pa-MEL-a.... though I would LOVE to come out over Labor Day, I just checked prices and it would cost about $800 for a ticket not including the hotel cost for us because the airport is 5 hours from here. I didn't even check on connecting flights as that would up the cost even more. The crisis for airlines is in the news a lot now. Prices up, service down. Not so sure I'll be flying much in the future. Luckily our upcoming cruise flight tickets were bought almost a year ago. If we want to meet sooner than a year out, I sure hope it's somewhere we all can get to otherwise I'll be really sad!!!:thumbup::frown::thumbup:

Great pics, Jenn. Glad you're loving your job! I remember those days of working and taking care of a family along with church committments. I sure do enjoy my "free" time now. Yes, I use the hot tub every night. I have it turned down to 97 now and it's perfect in the evenings. It's darn cold here today. 57 degrees, but it's supposed be in the 80's by Friday and a couple of days after that. My poor pool isn't getting heated from solar heat like it should since the sun isn't out long enough or often enough to do it's job. TracyK... so glad you could make the decision you did. I worked all the time when my kids were growing up, but then again I had my summers off and to tell you the truth, I would have gone crazy if I had not been able to teach. I love my family, but I loved my job too. But you will really enjoy your time with Macy. It goes by too quickly. Suzie.. hope your pool gets in soon and you can use it more than I'm using mine!!! arghhhhhhhh It's really tough to do laps in a hot tub :ohmy: Roomie.. I went to bed early last night so didn't see your post until this morning. I would have called if I had seen it! I think we're all going through Gruene withdrawals. Coyote Ugly was on tv yesterday afternoon and it brought back ummmmmmmmm interesting memories. :cursing: One more choir rehearsal tonight and then I'm done for the summer. The Bobster and guys leave for Gettysburg next Wednesday. DD Kris and I leave on the 21st for our cruise. Time sure is flying by!! She's having second thoughts about parasailing, but I'm still good to go, so I'm yanking her along. Laundry calls so I better get off here for a bit. Everyone have a great day!!

Ahem.. roomie. don't you read my posts?? In case you missed it... here it is from long ago. Like one week ago today. Good evening, Violets.. I got back from school at 5 and just got back from eating dinner out with the Bobster. I got 3/4 of a Butter Burger down without the top bun. I had a cup of chili for lunch and nothing in between all day. I think I need to go back to school to keep me in line on the eating!!! The teacher who took my place had gastric bypass and she has lost 101#. She's just a petite thing now. I can't believe how little she is. She looks amazing. I got lots of compliments and a new resolve to get those 10# off!! Kat.. WOW!!! So sorry to hear about the accident. Ethan is a big boy and is still in a car seat, thank goodness!! Sure hope Connor is feeling great tomorrow. Angels were watching over them for sure. Glad to see you posting too. I'm so thrilled for you and your flat tummy! I too had just the mostest bestest time in Texas. You all are very special friends and I just felt so at home with you all. Pam MEL a.. thanks for the card. That was sweet of you to send and I appreciate you taking the time to do it!! Makes me love my roomie all the more.
