Laura!! 42K is just shy of what I made my last year of teaching, and it took me 32 years to get to that point. Holy smokes!!! The Wii fit is a game that goes with the console. You have a balance board that sits on the floor and you step on it for certain things, like hula hoops, ski jump and step aerobics. You just use the remote for running and don't use the board. The Wii console is almost $200 and the Wii fit is $90. Wii Fit is whole separate unit. The neat thing is it keeps track of your BMI and weight and progress. I really am enjoying it a lot. That sounds so strange about your friend. What three things can she eat?? Does she take diuretics??? Chicken salad for lunch is calling out to me now, so I'm gonna go and have a cup. BBL.......

Good Morning, Violets... Ethan arrived early this morning so I haven't had a chance to post yet. TracyinKS....my continued prayers to you and your mom and family. You mom is only a year older than me. And as far as I'm concerned... that's way young. I'm glad you and your sister are going to the doctor's appointment with her. That way you can ask all the questions you need to and know that you're getting first hand information. TracyK...I slept like a baby last night too....... up every 2 hours!! lol Suzie..it's 58 degrees here now so you know my pool is freezing.. It's supposed to get up into the 80's today so my fingers are crossed that we can raise the water temp. I've never had a summer where I couldn't get in the pool in July. Pamela.. can't wait to have you home so we can hear more about your vacation! Jane.. Who knew that the Wiifit would be what everyone wants?? Well, obviously the people at Nintendo. There are a ton of them overseas. We just can't get them here in the USA... go figger. Laura... are you in Vegas???? Hope your dad is still doing well! Time to get dressed and ready for the day. No shoes for us either. I don't wear socks, but hubby does. I ordered the cover for it from Walmart. You can use shoes for the running, since you are not on the actual board for that.

Good Morning, Violets.. I'm up early to get ready for church and then the Bobster and I are heading out for the day. It looks like it will be a warm sunny one, so the pool pump and solar heater are on and hopefully will raise the water temp some. Everyone have a great day. Will check in when we get home tonight.

My son found the Wii console for me, but I had to get the Wiifit on ebay at almost double the price cause you just can't get them in the U.S. right now. Whenever they go onsale online, they are snatched up before you have a chance to grab them. And I'm sure it's by people who sell them on ebay! But I do love it!!! Bob jogged 1.999 miles last night and he hasn't done that in many, many years. I'm still way sore from the hula hoop and running. But I look forward to it every day.

Wooooo Hooooooo.. Pool Party at Suzie's!!! I sure hope to get in the pool sometime this week. Today it got to 85 air temp, but the water temp was only 78.. grrrrrrrrrr I need more SUN!! As for the fluid in the bands.. I have heard that you can put in a little more than what the band is.. for instance 4.1 or 4.2 in a 4cc band. I'm at 3.1 in mine and I'm fine as far as restriction. Just got to keep my head in the game. The Wiifit is sooooooooooooo much fun and I'm sooooooooo sore!! My Wiifit age today was 72 so that tells ya I didn't do as well on the balance stuff today. But I hold the record for ski jumps and hula hoops!! The memorial service went well and afterwards, I had 12 people in the lap band support group... 8 of them were new!! They all seemed really excited about the group and said they'd be back. Now I have to contact some of the original members and see why they aren't coming. If they were all there, we'd have about 20 people. Tomorrow the Bobster and I are going to church together since he doesn't have to preach and then we're headed out of town for the day. We're going to a little town about an hour and a half away and just do some window shopping and have dinner. He was gone all day today and we don't like to spend that much time apart since we've "retired". Time to go check the ribs in the oven and see how he's doing on the Wiifit. Will check back tonight..

Good Morning, Violets.. I'm dressed and ready to head to church to practice for the memorial service today, then lap band support group right afterwards. It's another cloudy, stormy day. No warming the pool today.. :cool: Pam.. so great to read your posts and remember all the things I loved about Germany too. Will be glad to have you home so you can post EVERY day!! Don't forget to include all the Violets in the press release, k? Ethan is here and I'm trying to get some oatmeal down, but he's eating most of it. He's here til 1 today and then I have a flute rehearsal. I'm playing for a memorial service tomorrow and my choir is singing. Then I'll have lapband support group. Another busy Saturday. Kristin has her first obstetrician appointment today. Years ago, in anticipation of her getting pregnant, I bought a Willowtree angel called New Life. I can't wait to FINALLY give it to her today!! Of course I bought a few sleepers too. This is going to be soooooooo much fun! We're going out for a fish fry tonight with Kris and Nathan. Time to go amuse Ethan for a bit. Got my Wiifit on Tuesday and am loving it. Such a fun way to get some exercise in! I've already gone from Obese to Overweight. I paid top dollar for mine on ebay even with free shipping. But no other choice. We can't get them up here in Northern Michigan. It's well worth the money, IMHO.

Well, just so you won't feel too bad, Suzie. I was so anxious to go swimming in the pool today, but it stormed and rained and the water temp went back to 78. I don't get in until it's 82. No sun, so no warm water. Guess I'll have to get my exercise with the Wiifit again tonight. Can't go biking cause it's supposed to storm again. This summer has been just the worst for warm, dry weather, but just the best for all the flowers. I don't have to water them everyday.... the rain takes care of it.

Good afternoon, Violets.. I've been checking all day and my computer kept saying page couldn't be displayed so I figured it was the same for everyone. Michelle.... thanks for letting me know the site was up and running. I went up to the Bobster's computer and it opened right up. Came back down here and it said page can't be displayed. I clicked on a link and wah lah, it opened up. Well, at least I got some things done today. Made some chicken salad, planted some day lillies, did some laundry and got my teeth cleaned. It's amazing what you can do when you can't access the computer!!! The Bobster just got home from some meetings so I'll go visit with him for awhile. Catch ya later if my computer co-operates.

Ooops... sorry. Didn't realize I wasn't reading the last page of posts. What a surprise to post and then see upteen others already there. I got a postcard from Pam today too. Just got done cleaning poopy pants.. no not mine. We're going to head outside again and let Grandma get some sun while Ethan hits his baseball and golf ball around. Haydee.. I already have 4 grandchildren so this will be my 5th!! :smile:

I get my 8 glasses of water in a day and that's about it. I know 80 oz would be way too much for me!! My Wiifit is supposed to arrive today. Then that will be one added piece of exercise equipment to add to my routine. Which by the way, hasn't been much of a routine lately!! The Bobster's bike is in the repair shop, but is supposed to be back today so we can resume our riding in the evenings. Gotta go get some breakfast and get ready for rehearsal. Tracy... I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. I was watching a video on IBC just yesterda that someone had sent me in email. I had seen it before, but it was a good reminder of symptoms. My prayers to you and your Mom. I know how worried you are. (((HUGS)))

Jane.. what I see on that ticker is that you've lost 73#!!! Now that you have posted it, you can start from that figure and work your way down again. Be proud that you've lost that much and that you are going to lose that much more. We're all here to help. My weight was up when I reposted my ticker, but now it's there in purple and white and I know I'm giving it a fresh, new start. We're in this together, ya know. That's what makes us Violets. Gimme a V-I-O-L-E-T-S!! Goooooooooooooooooo Violets!! There.. I'd do the splits, but at my age, my cheerleading skills will have to be limited to words of encouragement only!!

Good night Violets.. Busy day tomorrow with hospital shift, PMS luncheon, hair appointment, dog groomer and singing rehearsal. Whew..... and they said retirement was a piece of cake!! Good morning, Violets.. TracyK... you're a lady of leisure now!! wooooooo hooooooooo As for the "naps" at school. Does she go all day or half day?? Either way a "nap" at kindergarten is just a short rest time. Ours was always just 20 minutes to a half hour and rarely did any of the kids fall asleep. It was basically a lie down rest time. (And a breather time for the teacher!!!!) I'm up waiting for Ethan to arrive. It's stormy out and the garage dog is inside of course, whimp that she is! Looks like it's going to be an all day on an off rain so she'll be in all day too. HOpe we all survive!! Everyone have a great day. Going to get some breakfast.. cottage cheese and blueberries.. yumms!

DARN!! Wish I had known that Jane. I could have saved a bundle if I had asked you to get one and ship it to me. You just can't get any of that stuff in this area. It's amazing how many of the Wii Fit are being auctioned off on ebay for a jacked up price. It's the only way I could get one, so I didn't have a choice. I'll have to work extra hard at it to justify the extra money!!

I ride a bike and LOVE it!! I also got a Wiifit from ebay. It should arrive tomorrow or Tuesday. Can't wait to try it out. Exercise is a very important part of the weight loss process. The wonderful part of the band is for those of us "starting over" with the bandster rules.. we are starting over NOT from the beginning weight or more like with every other diet I've tried, but from a new low to a newer low. I LOVE my band!!

Good evening, Violets.... FINALLY, FINALLY, we were able to get in and enjoy the pool this evening. The water temp was 82 and it was perfect. I got my exercising in and also my water "fix". Now if it would just stay that warm.. but of course storms are coming in tomorrow and Tuesday. Probably won't be able to get back in it until the weekend. The Bobster and I had burgers, corn and carrots outside on the deck tonight. It's so beautiful out there with all the flowers and green grass. I could only eat 1/2 a burger and a couple of carrots, but the ear of corn went down fine. I love that stuff. Ethan comes tomorrow for the day and it's supposed to rain all day so I'll have my work cut out for me. Gonna go watch tv with the Bobster and then head to bed. Everyone have a good evening! Oh... my friend whose husband says no to the surgery said he is not stopping her, but will probably never stop nagging her about it. So it sounds like she is resolved to do this. I'm proud of her!!

Good afternoon, Violets. Had a really nice church service today, but was bummed beforehand. My friend who was all excited about getting the lapband surgery was bold by her husband that she couldn't do it because of statistics... he was quoting me things like... 88% of people have complications... 34% have slippage, no long term studies on effects... blah, blah, blah. I countered with.... how many complications does she have with the extra weight she's carrying?? What's the long term prognosis for her at this weight? He says she can do it the "right" way. I said 92% of people that do it the "right" way fail. I emailed him just now and said they needed to go to the seminar so he could as the doctor there all the questions. I said I don't know the stasticts and facts. I just know in my heart it was the best thing I could do for myself and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. He's extremely stubborn and is afraid of losing her.. she's 9 years older than he is and it's a second marriage. It's just heartbreaking to see the difference in her attitude today when she was so excited Friday when we talked about it. I feel so helpless. She was standing next to me after church when several people said I looked really great and that I'd lost a lot of weight. I know that bothered her as it would me if the roles were reversed. Sounds like we're all raising our hands to get back to the bandster rules and knock off those remaining pounds. I'm definitely in. Got to be a slim and sexy Grandma by next March!!!!
