Good Morning, Violets.. Just looked at my phone and I had a message from Tracyk. She's asking us for prayers as she has been vomiting all night and is headed to the doctor. I pray she is alright and has not damaged the band. It's cold and snowing here. We are putting the lights on the front tree and will be done with decorating today, I hope. I slept in til 8:30 this morning and the Bobster is still sleeping, but I think he was up at 4 a.m. for awhile so I won't wake him now. Going to get some breakfast. Everyone have a good day and keep TracyK in your prayers.

TracyK... Because our kids had lunch at 11:15, we had snack at 2:30 every afternoon. I would never take snack away from a child for misbehaving. Recess minutes, play time minutes, those I could use. But never snack. That's way too long for little ones to go without eating something.

Yup.. very rough times. The first five years are so critical and we didn't get him until he was 5. We had glorious plans to adopt first and then have our own children. Well, we did that, but it sure didn't turn out how we had imagined. There are times when love just isn't enough. We put him in a group home when he was 18 and he went through several group home situations until he was able to live on his own with the help of the ACT team ( assertive community treatment). Yes, he is on meds and under a doctor's care. As long as he stays on his meds and follows the plan, he is ok. Long story about him, but we ended up with 3 other biological children who are the joys of my life even with all their faults.. Course their parents are perfect, or so we keep telling them!!

Good afternoon, Violets.. Have not been able to get on this site since last night. I finally rebooted my computer and wa la.. it worked! Kat.. have been meaning to tell you that my friend Kathy didn't have to have the cardioversion. They were able to get everything under control with meds. She's doing fine now. Thanks for asking. I worked my hospital shift this morning and then went out to lunch with the Bobster and our oldest son and his girlfriend. This is the son we adopted when he was 5 and he had been abused. He is learning disabled, bipolar and paranoid schizophrenic. He was a mess today. Just filthy. He's 42 years old now and lives with his girlfriend in town and delivers papers. I give him credit for being able to live on his own, but he is so scary looking, it even makes me afraid and I know he wouldn't hurt anyone. Makes for a sad day. I have bell choir at 5 and singing rehearsal at 7. Then I need to see who gets booted off of DWTS. Sure was fun to watch them dancing last night. Everyone have a great day. Just got back from dinner. ooooooooo the lights are so pretty!! We put them on a timer so we could check them out coming home and then we turned them off til after Thanksgiving. Don't want the neighbors to get hostile!! The tree in the backyard by the hot tub looks magical. I love it! We are going to do the same to the tree on the other side of the deck. Those lights will stay on year round. I've been wanting to do that for a long time, but we never got around to it til now. I'm going to go watch the local news and then wait for Joe to pick me up to take me to my rehearsal. It sucks not having my car to myself, but at least I'm fortunate enough to be able to loan it to him without it causing too much of an imposition on me. At least this way the car will be warm when he takes me to rehearsal and warm when he picks me up. Always look at the bright side!! Everyone have a good night. I'll be back after hot tubbing.

Boston Cream Pie and Pecan Pie are my all time favorite desserts. And I wonder how I got fat!!!! The lights are on the house... my fingers are numb from the cold. Tomorrow we get the lights on the big tree in the front yard and set up the lighted deer. Then we should be done with the outside.

Whew... just in from putting little white lights on the crabapple tree in the backyard. It's right next to the hot tub so it will look really pretty at night. We will leave the lights on all year. We're taking a break and then going to put lights on the peak of the roof over the porch. Can't believe how much we have to do yet! I bought a ton of lights on sale after Christmas last year so we're inventing places to put them. (dont' even go there!!!) Going to go have a bottle of my peach drink and relax a bit before heading out into the cold air again.

Wooo hoooo for Jane!! And you get your ticker updated the same day I decide to get rid of mine! I'm just too tired of seeing it sitting at the same number all the time! I'm headed outside to brave the weather and the lights again! BBL........

Just finished lunch and now it's back to putting the Christmas lights up outside. No Ethan today, so we are able to do some things outside today. It's darn cold out there.. 30 degrees and it's snowing off and on. (cue the music)It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!!

We're in this together.. I have been stuck at 178-181 for almost a year. Now THAT's the pitts! I am fine on eating the good food. Can only manage a few bites and I'm full or it's stuck. It's the crap that goes down so easily that I have struggles with. I am a junk food/sugar addict. I can't imagine what my weight would be if I wasn't exercising every day. But it's not the band's fault!!! For breakfast I had 1 egg with 1 slice cheese and 2 peach slivers. It's sitting there in my throat and going down very slowly. DS Joe doesn't have any work yet today so Ethan isn't here. Hopefully I can get some more clothes bagged up before he comes (if he comes). I need to figure out where the Christmas tree is going this year too. We got a new second couch this year and that takes up the room where the tree usually is. hmmmmmm conundrums, conundrums...

Well shoot.. why do they offer that kind of stuff if it doesn't work????? Guess I'll just keep punching in color and size of font each time I post. It HAS to be purple and it HAS to be BIG enough for PamELa's little eyeballs to see.

Has anyone else tried to change the default font settings?? I just tried again and it's not working.. So it's you and me Jane and I consider myself pretty computer literate!!

Good Morning, Violets.. I'm up waiting for Ethan to arrive. We have snow on the ground that isn't leaving anytime soon. Some parts of Michigan are supposed to get up to a foot of snow today. Thank goodness, we are not one of them! But Ethan and I will have fun outside today. Hope PamELa has figured out her computer problems and can get on here today. I'm not that good at texting and it takes me forever to get one typed and sent! I'm taking my friend to her radiation treatment today and then I have nothing in the works til rehearsal this evening at 7. I'm going to go fix an egg for breakfast and wait for Ethan. Will check back later...

Good afternoon, Violets... What a day I've had. First off... to answer your question, Jane.. I pay $30 for a cut and style and about $80 for color, cut and style. Secondly, the Bobster owes me BIG TIME for a LONG TIME!! He dropped me off at church this morning so I could get choir stuff ready. (DS Joe has my car). I told him I'd see him after church. Soooooo I get everything ready and church starts. The choir sings the introit and no Bob. We march up, finish the first hymn, announcements and greetings. No Bob. Choir anthem, children's message. No Bob. I'm getting worried. I look at my friend Bill in the choir, mouth the words.. "where's Bob" and he mouths back.."want me to call him?". I nod yes and Bill leaves. Still no Bob. Sermon is finished and I'm to play a flute duet for offertory. No Bob and no Bill and I'm REALLY worried. Duet went very well even though my mind wasn't in it at all, we got applause and I sit down thinking I need to get out of there because I don't know what's happening. But I figure Bill would let me know so I stay and at the very end of the service, there is Bill giving me the thumbs up sign. Turns out my big brained, highly educated, Doctorate in Philosophy husband got to talking on the phone and thought church was at the same time as his little church.. 11 a.m. NOOOOO, our service is at 10!! So instead of him being dead on the floor or taking care of our children or something bad like that... he was drinking coffee, eating a pancake breakfast from McDonald's, chit chatting on the phone and reading the paper. He apologized profusely, but he knows how it feels because he's always in a panic if I'm not home when I say I'll be. So now he's in my debt for a longgggggggg time to come. I smacked him upside the head too, of course. Made me feel a little better. As my friend Kathy said to Bob at lunch.... it's a good thing Bolenz (local jeweler) is not open today, otherwise you'd be in there getting something really nice for your wife!! I had a nice nap today after calling my DDIL. She was sick yesterday when I called her about Christmas presents and I was worried about her. If she misses her clinical classes, she's booted out of the nursing program and she only has 6 months to go to her RN. Thank goodness, she's feeling fine today and everything is back to normal. I didn't sleep well last night worrying about that. So I'm up and the Bobster got some of the Christmas lights put up. We'll try and get the rest tomorrow or Tuesday. It will be the earliest we have had things done ... ever!! I have stuffed chicken breast in the oven with some butternut squash for supper. I'll check back in later this evening after Desperate Housewives. TracyK... lmao about the cat/Jane comparison!!!

Good Morning, Violets.. We got home at 11 last night and this Gramma was pooped! We had a great day even though the crowds were unbelievable. I told you it was St. Antler's day and of course all the hunting widows were out shopping. We went to an outlet mall first and waited in line for 40 minutes for a table for lunch before we called it quits and decided to shop instead and eat later. We got some great deals on clothes. Kris got some maternity things and I got some slacks. I got size 16, 14 and 12 and they all fit. If they are zip up with no elastic, 16 fits, zip up with elastic at the sides, 14 fits and elastic all around, 12 fits. Go figger!! Kris got a crib, basinette and changing table and the best part was she paid for it all!! It's nice to have a P.A. in the family cause I sure couldn't afford all that stuff anymore. But I am so proud and happy that they are both doing so well. I woke up this morning to snow on the ground. I have church in a little bit and then rehearsal this afternoon from 1:30 - 3 and then it will be nap time for sure. I got most of the Christmas shopping done for the grandkids. Just a few more clothes items and that will be completed. Time to get some breakfast and get ready for church. Everyone have a great day!!
