Good Morning, Violets.. Boy did we get slammed with snow last night!!! All area schools are closed today. We got about 8 inches and it's still snowing. It's heavy snow and all the tree branches are bent down. I got some pics I'll post in a little bit. Slept in till 9. Today is Bob's pension day so I got online and paid all the bills. Easy come, easy go!!! He needs to go out and shovel. At least the driveway won't be too bad before the car smooshes everything down. I'm going to go get dressed and help him. Will check back in later. Everyone have a great day. No Ethan for me so it will be a day when I can get some things done around the house. BBL...

Good evening, Violets.. Well, they said the storm was to start at 7.. it's now 8 and it's starting with rain. The police scanner came on and said up to 10" tonight and tomorrow morning. Ah the joys of living in Northern Michigan. We went out and got milk and snacks for Ethan for tomorrow if he comes. Bob will be taking my friend to her radiation treatment if the roads are really bad. Michelle..I always knew you were a thread started.. :thumbup::tt2: TracyK.. congrats on throwing away that cake. It's an empowering feeling, isn't it? The Bobster and I went out for dinner so we didn't overdose on turkey noodle soup. I order a sandwich and ate half of it. Bob ate the other half and I brought all the onion straws home to warm up tomorrow for Ethan and me. Well, Pistons lost this afternoon, no hot tub cause of the weather, but Desperate Housewives is on and so is the fireplace. I'm a happy camper. Everyone have a good evening. Sleep well!!

Good Morning, Violets.. Almost good afternoon!! The winter storm watch has been changed to this evening so nothing happening here yet. I slept in till 10 this morning!! The Bobster didn't have to preach and I had no choir so we both took a Sunday off and lazed in our pjs, read the paper and chit chatted. Sooooooo nice! Ethan is coming in a few minutes for the afternoon. I'm anxious to see what he thinks of all the decorations. His eyes will be bugging out!! TracyK..that cake look lucious... I think I gained a pound just looking at it!! And no.. I've been very good to the neighbors, justincase it snows and I need help.. :cursing::tt2: I just got my Christmas letter done for the cards. Now just have to print off copies and wait for the cards from Walmart. The Bobster is going to take our 3 foot tall stack of newspapers to recycling today. Can't wait to get that out of the corner. Other than that, he just has to chop up some ice in the driveway before the snow comes and that's it for the day. We'll need a lazy one today cause starting tomorrow it will be a crazy month. My calendar is full of things each and every day right up til Christmas. Off to warm up some turkey noodle soup and wait for Ethan. Everyone have a great day!! BBL...

Yup.. very quiet in here today. Just got back from the movie. It was cute. A no brainer and that's what I was looking for this time. We're under a winter storm watch for tomorrow afternoon through Monday afternoon. 6-10 of snow on the way and our snowblower is at the shop!! Course it's ready to be picked up, but getting there is going to be the problem. Hopefully our neighbors can bail us out one more time if we can't get the snowblower back here. We got the inside of the house all decorated and the Dicken's village put up. Everything looks so nice. We're headed to Walmart to get some mittens for Ethan and some stocking holders for the fireplace. Everyone have a good evening. PamELa.. hope you had a very uplifting celebration of life today. Good Morning, Violets.. I went to bed early last night and slept for 10 hours!! Guess my body was trying to tell me something! DS and family made it home fine. They called about midnight when they were just a couple of hours from home. Today they have to be at grandson's hockey game early. I see naps in their future!!! The Bobster is taking his shower and then will get the tree and all the decorations out. I was able to get to the Pam's dad's obit this morning. He looks so young!! And then I realized he's only 5 years older than I am. He certainly had a good life and was beloved by many. PamELa is a very lucky lady to have had him in her life. I know when we "experience" Pam, we experience her dad too. TracyK, I saw the article about the man trampled at Wal-Mart. What a waste!! I'm so glad I passed up that early morning shopping yesterday. I got SIL Nathan's gifts online. His pants are 36/38 and shirts are 16, 38/39. Can't find those sizes in stores!!! I ordered some stuff for the Bobster too. All that's left to get is a gas card for my Godson and I'm done gift buying!!! woooo hooooooo!! I sent our family pic into Walmart online for the Christmas cards and will have those next week. I'm also sending out baby shower invitations. Can you say "a loan for stamps, please"?? Time to go get some breakfast and get busy. Will check back later!! Have a great day!

Good Evening, Violets.. Had a great day today. Ethan came at 11:30 and stayed until just a few minutes ago. We went out to eat and he behaved wonderfully, saying hi and bye to everyone in the place. Then we went to the parade and he sat in the stroller the whole time and waved and said hi to every float that went by. We came home and had Amelia's birthday cake and then sat and talked for a while before DS Josh and the family headed home. They won't get home till about 2 tomorrow morning. At least the roads are good for them. Eating was very good for me today. I could only eat half my one egg and cheese for breakfast. For lunch I had one piece of pumpkin pie and for dinner I had a cup of soup and one spring roll at the chinese place. I had half of a piece of cake and 1 little scoop of ice cream and that's been it for the day. Yes, a variety of crap, but not that much of it and I'm not hungry this evening. Just really tired from all the fresh air and activity with the family. It's nice and quiet now. The Bobster and I will put the tree up tomorrow and decorate the inside of the house and then go see 4 Christmases with Kris and Nathan. I'm guessing we'll go out to eat too. My soup stock is made and is cooling now. I'll throw all the veggies in tomorrow and we'll have it for lunch and probably for the next several days. Was anyone able to open the obit Pam sent in email???? Mine said it couldn't be opened. I was disappointed. I'm going to go clean up toys from the living room and then put my feet up for the evening and probably fall asleep in the rocking chair. Everyone have a great evening. Sleep well. Good afternoon, Violets.. I got my first Christmas card in the mail today! Thanks, Laura!!! The soup recipe is basic. Just put the carcass in my Nesco roaster, fill with water and a spoonful of Better than Bouillon chicken mix and leave on 200 degrees for a day and a half. It makes a dark, rich stock. I strain out the liquid, add corn, carrots, celery, noodles, onions, the meat and wa la... turkey noodle soup.

Good Morning, Violets.. Didn't get up till 9 this morning!! No early morning shopping for me. I did it last year and swore never again! Couldn't believe the rude people and not being able to get what was advertised. It's so much nicer staying in my jammies and reading the paper with the Bobster. Kids are coming over at 1:30 today. Ethan comes at 11:30. We'll have a birthday celebration at 4:30 at the Chinese restaurant and then go watch the parade. I have soup steeping and the house smells wonderful. I missed that Thanksgiving smell here that we had at Kris's. I'm going to go get ready to take my friend to her radiation treatment. Everyone have a great day!! BBL...

Good evening, Violets.. We're back!! Had a great time, though a little stressful. The turkey was put in at 9:30 this morning so we could eat at 2:30. Well, it wasn't done and wasn't done and wasn't done. Found out the lid on the roaster was not on tight so the temperature wasn't getting up to where it needed to be. Sooooooooooo We rigged up a "redneck" roaster with a big ol' orange strap around the roaster and lid to keep it tight and that did the trick. We ate at 4:30 and I had been grazing on chips and pickled beets, pickles and M&M's all afternoon. When I sat down with my reasonably portioned meal, I took two bites and had to go to the bathroom to pb. Tried again with the same results, so I gave up. Had a little sliver of pecan pie, minus the crust and the pecans and a tiny sliver of butterscotch pie, minus the crust. So of course not much protein in, but lots of crap!! I have the turkey carcass and will start cooking it tonight for soup. Plus I cut my finger on one of Kris's sharp, SHARP knives!! Wouldn't stop bleeding and hurt like heck, but it's better now. I had a great time with granddaughter Amelia who will be 2 in a week. She is talking up a storm and just a little sweetheart. She looks so much like me when I was a baby, it's scary!! I sure missed Ethan today, but hope he will be over tomorrow. I'm going to go start the soup and sit and relax for awhile in front of the tv. Everyone have a great evening. Don't even think about the scales until Monday when it's a new month!!

Make it a habit to weigh only once or twice a week. Every day weigh-ins will drive you nuts!! I'm up and ready to do some house cleaning before we leave for Kris's house. Wow.. nice place ya got here, Michelle. Looks a lot like the old place, but just... well.... new!:grouphug::tt2: Terry.. I'd like my hair that short, but not that severe. I'd like little wisps around the hairline. Mine is cut shorter than it was before, but still not short enough for me. She changed the color too and called it winter blonde. It's not blonde enough for me, so we'll be changing that again next time too! Got all the presents wrapped and/ or bagged for the grandkids and kids to take back home with them on Friday. Just have the ones close by to finish up. I'll be done by Saturday. Can't BELIEVE it!! Everyone have a good night and a wonderful Thanksgiving tomorrow!!

Good afternoon, Violets.. Got my two squash dishes done and in the fridge and went shopping for a Christmas sweater. I got a sweatshirt AND sweater. I'm good to go for all the musical gigs coming up in December. Bought a pair of black pants size 10!! Course they are elastic all the way around, but a 10...!! I'm so thankful for my band and for my Violets... Off to get some Christmas bags at the dollar store. We've decided to send the Christmas presents home with DS Josh and family rather than risk not being able to get down there if the roads are bad after Christmas. That means marathon wrapping sessions tonight and tomorrow morning. Catch you later!

Good Morning, Violets.. Just sitting and waiting for Ethan to arrive. Kat... sounds like Kinsey had a great birthday party! We are having a 2nd birthday party for granddaughter Amelia on Friday. Her birthday is the 2nd of December, but since they will be here and not 6 hours away, we're going to have it at our house and then go to the Thanksgiving parade in town. DD Kris says she wants to take advantage of the Friday sales, but I'm not willing to get up that early!! Besides most of my shopping is done! Jenn...be careful on the roads out there. Lots of slip sliding on the roads here the last couple of days. Susie.... BACK AWAY FROM THE FUDGE!!! That's our traditional give away present at Christmas. The Bobster makes it, I package it and it goes to neighbors and friends. It will be hard staying away from it for sure and I'm not even a big fan of fudge! Gotta go get some breakfast ready for Ethan when he arrives.. Everyone have a great day!!

Just finished watching DWTS. I would have been happy with any of the final three winning. Great show! Off to bed. No hot tub cause the Bobster didn't shovel a path out for me, nor did he get the 6 inches of snow off the cover!! Flutes in the morning and then cooking my dishes for Thanksgiving and seeing my other grandkids tomorrow evening!! Everyone sleep well!!

Good Afternoon, Violets.. Just in from trying to shovel the end of the driveway where the snowplows tossed all the snow. We have a good 6-8 inches on the ground now. It's the heavy, wet stuff and my wrist, stomach and back hurt so I'm letting the Bobster do his thing while I try and catch my breath. Did my hospital shift and then got my hair cut and colored. Not as short as I had thought, but it will be fine for 5 weeks. Now I have nothing to do until singing rehearsal tonight. Bob is working on getting the snowblower to work. It's always a chore the first snow of the season. You'd think he'd plan ahead, but noooooooooooooooo. I'm going to make my butternut squash and another squash dish tomorrow to take on Thursday. That's all I'm responsible for, but I go early and help Kris make the turkey and potatoes and whatever else she has planned. My boys came back from the groomer yesterday with little bows in their hair. Kirby has a red one with a green jewel and Chippy has a green one with a red jewel. So cute, but you'd never know they were boys!!! I can't wait to see who wins DWTS tonight. They all were so much fun to watch last night. I'd be happy with anyone of them. PamELa.. you have a good week. Take care of yourself and know that you have lots of Violets there in spirit with you. I'm not even going to attempt personals... just know that you're all in my thoughts each day. I'm going to go rest up my weary body and hope I hear the snowblower start up soon. BBL...........
