  1. Hi, I was banded in 2007. I lost 80lbs and can eat most things. I just eat is smaller amounts. I do have some problems with salad.
  2. I went to Dr. Rumbaut in Mexico. It was a immaculate facility. Dr. Rumbaut and his staff were fantastic. It was about half of the us price.
  3. I was just like you. Tried every diet in the world. I got the lapband 6 months ago, and have lost 33lbs. For me, it's not about what I eat now, but how much. Sure, I will lose more if I skip the ice cream, but I am still loosing with it. I eat 2/3 less than before. It's great.
  4. He was great and worth the money. It was $10,000. It included everything doctor, hospital, hotel, taxis. I was treated well. I felt very safe.
  5. I went to Dr. Rumbaut in March. He and his staff was wonderful. The hospital was immaculate. I would highly recommend him.
  6. Hi everyone, I know this is a gross question, but is it possible to barf with a lap band. I don't mean from something getting stuck. I mean from the lower part of the stomach like with a virus or food poisoning.
  7. I can eat pizza easily if it is thin crust. I have been eating it since I have been on solid foods. Just chew!
  8. Hi everyone, I was banded March 1. I feel great. I have lost 22lbs. I will be having my first fill next week. Right now I can eat everything, and for a week have been hungry. I am hoping the fill will fix that. I have been walking, but it is time to kick up the exercise.
  9. Hi, I had the band put on in March of this year with a BMI of 35. I have already lost 22lbs and my first fill isn't until next week. The band was a great decision for me. I think I had tried every diet out there with a yoyo kind of success. I of course did not qualify for insurance. I went to Mexico, and Dr. Rumbaut did the procedure for about half the price. I would highly recommend him. I say go for it. It is a shame America is so behind on this type of surgery
  10. The best advice I can give is get a heating pad. It really helps the post op pain, which really isn't that bad. I thought the heat was better than pain meds. Good Luck
  11. Hi, I was banded by Dr. Rumbaut on March 1, 2007. It was a wonderful experience. I have lost 21lbs. The cost included all the preop tests, the surgery, hotel, nutrition support, and hospital stay. I was picked up at the airport and taken to all my appointments. The hospital was up to american standards easily. That was very important to me. The doctor even visited me in the hotel before I can home. I am doing great. It was the best decision I ever made. Another important thing, he will provide you with fill doctor references for you home city. Good Luck
  12. Go to Mexico. The price is about half. Many of the surgeons are more experienced than here in the states. Look up Mexico on this sight for more info. Its what I did.
  13. Have you tried isopure fruit punch drinks? You can get them at gnc. They have about 30g a drink. I find if I drink one a day. I can easily meet the requirements.
  14. I was banded by Dr.Rumbaut on March 1. He did a great job. I have lost 21lbs and feel great. My experience was positive from beginning to end. If you have any specific questions I will answer them.
