I had the same problem after my surgery.. i was banded March 28th.. Turned out I had oral thrush.. Im assuming i got it from the hospital.. My whole tongue was covered in yucky white sh?! .. Call your doctor.. youll get a oral med that you swish and swallow and it oes away after about 4 days =)

Buy Carnation Breakfast Essentials NSA packets.. the vanilla ones. Mix 1/2 scoop of choc. protein powder with 1/2 packet of the vanilla carnation.. Takes the whey protein taste right out..

I lost 12lbs since my surgery March 28th, yesterday was one week=)

Yepp.. They said it was required I lost 13 lbs before.. so they wouldnt review anything until i lost it.. once they submitted it they reviewed it and approved it.. I lost 13lbs in like 12 days.. talk about motivation! haha

Yuh know what.. I just googled "thrush" and that's what my tongue looks like!!! Thank you!! I'm gonna make sure i ask my Dr about it tomorrow! Thank you sooo much everyone!! =) =)

I had antibiotics in my IV.. Idk but its nastyy! lol

To be honest.. I did not even follow a diet.. Bad, I know.. when i went to the doctors each month I would just make sure I stayed at the same weight.. i had to have a gall bladder sono, an egd, and bunches of other random tests. when all my paperwork was submitted my insurance company would not make a decision unless i lost 13 pounds.. I did it in under two weeks.. got approved 2 days later and had surgery 1 week later=) .. Btw the 6months flyyyyyyyy byy!! literally!! Good Luck!! =)

Hello All!.. I was Banded on Wed. March 28th and since then have had a yucky.. never yucky.. white tongue.. with an actual layer on it.. almost like a layer of my tongue died and its dead cell coming off.. when i say my tongue.. i mean my wholllee tongue.. today its alot better with now just the tip left all white and "dead like" but i cant have anything grainy.. like applesauce or even really runny mashed potatos because its hurts my tongue from the grainy feeling.. today i noticed too that the roof of my mouth and kind of grainy.. like might even itch a little.. has anyone ever experienced this?.. idk if its from the liquid pain meds or what.. which i stopped taking saturday night. Im lost?.. I have a post op appt tomorrow and I fully intend on asking them about this but just wanted some feedback from anyone else.. Thanks in advance=)

Congrats!! I too was banded on March 28th.. Around 4:15pm. The gas pains were the worst!.. Esp the shoulder pain! I'm starting to feel like my old self again.. actually slept comfortably last night! Yayyy for us!! =)

Glad your feeling better! =) @ snielsen.. It's not an easy process by any means at all.. The first three days you'll just keep asking yourself what did I.do to myself.. It does get better.. I'm only 5 days post op and feeling so much better.. I can actually get out of bed on my own! As With any surgery the pain is there.. Good luck!! =)

I just had that fixed when I had my lapband done Wednesday.. I didnt have any symptoms or anything either.. they found it when they did my EGD. Be prepared your chest hurts afterwards.. almost like its hard to breath. but you'll def notice a difference afterwards. Good-Luck!! =) =)

I'm 4 days post op today and I can't imagine going back after 1 week.. Not that it's horrible.. But uncomfortable.. I'd take 2 Weeks..

Yah yesterday I felt really dehydrated.. I just upped my liquids even though i didnt want more.. but i refuse to get sick from dehydration.. Hows your throat?.. Mine is so sore and my tongue looks disgusting! lol Hope your feeling better =)

Oh man lucky you. I have been so uncomfortable. 3Am and I'm walking around my house because my back hurts from laying in the same spot. Any shoulder soreness? .. I just keep telling myself in a couple days.. Itll be gone! lol .. guess i shoulda read the previous post haha...
