3.5 Mos Out & Need Advice!
Your body could be adjusting to the loss, it needs time to reshape and settle down before it starts the losing again. I have gone through a few stalls the last one was the longest ever but when it was all over I had dropped 2 sizes. That is why I don't just weight every week I measure and keep track of it (my clothes fit different before I change sizes also). We have put our bodies through so much over the years and now we had surgery and have taken away more than half of our stomachs it requires time for healing and adjusting to everything. If you feel you are doing everything you can then don't stress about it (stress can make you gain) it will come off it has nothing else to do this early after surgery. We all have had stalls and some (like me) freaked the first time it happened. Keep up the good work and smile you are doing good.

Ladies Question
I am not a DOCTOR by any means, but I can tell you that losing weight can bring it on. My sister didn't have a period for 3 years due to her weight (300+ pounds) and when she dropped 29 lbs she started all over again. I made her go to her GYN. She explained to him that it was brown and filled with clots, he explained to her that because she hadn't had one in so long it was all the old blood and it should be normal color by next period (which it was). He also recommended that she ****** after that period was over. I personally feel that if you are concerned about it make an appointment with a GYN just to insure nothing is going on. Better safe than sorry.

Weekly Entry (21)
Doctors appoint in Vegas went really good. I am above the norm for losing which is where I want to be. He increased the amount of protein he wants me eating and is very happy with my a1c count. He reminded me that as I get closer to goal weight I will have to work harder to lose the weight. I have reached another goal 255lbs yeah, next goal is 200lbs so will increase the weight training as I can't do much cardio right now. According to the doctors I may never be able to much cardio because of the damage to my heart. Had to buy new clothes to cover, every thing was falling off, down to size 18/20 tops and pants from 28's and 5x's it just amazes me at how many sizes I have gone through. I am hoping to be n 14/16's b the end of the month. I am so thankful for all the changes taking place and I owe it all to God and the doctors for letting me have this surgery. Well time to start a new week and new adventures. Day by Day Step by Step with Jesus is my prayer.

Week 20 Still Here
Started week 20 with doctor appointment, it went very well. I am no longer diebetics, "Yea", still off most of my meds except plavix and floic acid am very happy about that. Had to take new picture for my file as the other one was horrific. according to his records I have lost 27 since January not to bad. He was very happy with all the test results except for my ldl levels they will come down in time. I am still hovering at 260lbs (265 doc scale) but my body is still changing things around I am now a size 20 and 1X in all my clothes, muscles are forming all over what a feeling. I like the way I look in the mirror more and more each week it makes me feel good. I never liked looking in the mirror because this big woman was there looking back, I am not skinny by any means but now I see a totally different person standing there. I have a doctor appointment with weight doctor in Las Vegas next Tuesday and am hoping for great results with him also. Day by Day Step by Step with Jesus On ward and down ward

Confused, Scared, Anxious & Nervous
I can only tell you my side of the story, I LOVE MY SLEEVE. At first you drink only liquids and then about 3 weeks later you start on mushy foods and about 6 weeks out you can eat solid foods. Each doctor is different and so these may change a bit. I can eat anything I want as long as it's only 4 oz total weight on the plate, and drink everything except soda (due to the bubbles and the gas it causes). I recommend you read and talk with as many people on this site as possible we all have different stories some good some bad. Also read about your doctor the pro's and con's of the surgery on different sites as well. Better to have to much information then not enough. I wish you the very best in your choice, as I stated "I love my sleeve" and only wish I would have had it so much sooner. I have not had any problems with the sleeve or the surgery.

Old Clothes
I threw all my old clothes away thinking I would never see that size again, boy was that a mistake. I am now back down to size 20's and XL (from 5XXXL and 28's and 32's) and nothing to wear. It so bites to think of all those clothes gone, but lov'in the new size. You will be able to get in them again, it will happen soon. Styles change every 10 years so you are right on track.

April Was A Bad Month (Week 19)
I knew this month was going to be bad and I was right. I gained 1.4lbs and 1.5 inches for the month. I can't let this get me down I just need to get on it and stay on top of things. But this does show me that making bad food choices and no exercise will result in a bad month or week. I think I will write a letter to the hospital about changing the food in the vending machines so there are better and healthier choices. 5 days of that didn't help me at all. I am so thankful Tia (sis) is doing good and home again. She still has to have her wound packed and taped but at least that can be done here at home. I had a doctor appointment and they have me so freaked out about going to the gym by myself, they are so worried that I will have another heart attack or stroke it is just driving me crazy. So I did some research on my health conditions and found that what they are saying is more serious then I thought. The chances of either of those happening is about 80 to 100% possible if I do to much of anything. So for now I will just be more careful and pay attention to the heart rates of the machines so that I don't over do, there is 1 good thing, they do have emergency buttons to wear at the gym when I'm alone.which is a good thing. Well time for bed and prayers, tomorrow is another day and the start of a new week. I will do better I don't want to fail. Day by Day Step by Step with Jesus

Help Not Loosing Anymore
Stalls are apart of my journey to be healthy, I look at them a little different now then I did that FIRST STALL, I freaked the first time thinking I had lost all I was going to and omg what had I done to myself. Amazingly when the stall broke and the scale moved I had lost several inches and several pounds, I was so thankful for my sleeve and relieved. I look at the stalls as a time for my body to catch up with the weight loss. Our bodies need time to readjust, change shape, and rest from all the changes we are put them through. Everyone is different and their bodies react differently to the changes. We have put these bodies through the ringer, pre op diets, surgery and then not feeding them the way they were use to, they need time to catch up. Surgery is a big part of it, the body needs time to heal. I didn't think it was that big of a deal because the outside didn't look that bad, 5 little scars didn't seem like much but when you look at what they did inside and how much of the stomach they took out, it is a BIG thing. Remember we didn't get this way over night and we won't lose it overnight either. I know that I have chosen the best way for me to over come the weight and be healthier then ever before and with everything in our lives there comes a time for readjustment and the body is no different. I weight and measure once a week (Tuesday) and have found that if the scale isn't moving the tape measure is. It's not just about the weight it is also the inches. Keep up the awesome work the scale will move.

You have done awesome, keep up the great work.

Week 18 (5 Months 5 Days)
Typing that I like the weeks better than months, 18 weeks doesn't seem very long but 5 months seems like a long time. Well as I figured the scale this morning showed 262.4 (darn vending machine food). On a bright side I lost 6 inches (all that walking). Total overall figures this far out are 75lbs and 49 inches lost. I wish I knew how to post topics I would like to know if anyone else has ever had an issue with over eating since being sleeved and what it felt like for them. I think it happened to me last night. I eat 2 taquitos at bowling then came home and hubby had fixed dinner so he fixed me a plate 4oz of round steak and half a baked potato and a blueberry muffin (he sat and watched me eat it) even after telling him I had already eaten. I was so sick headache, upset tummy, dizzy, feeling faint, went to bed only to wake up later with running to bathroom throwing up and diariaha. I will never do that again it was bad. Well better get off here and get ready for work, after work doc appoint and then off to gym and tanning for the first time after working out am excited, May God continue to bless this journey and everyone that reads this. Day by day Step by Step with Jesus is my prayer.

Adjusted My Goal
I am 5'9" and doctor set my goal at 160 but not sure about that, I was 125 when I got married and was happy with it, but now I'm thinking more like 130-140. I think I will just wait and see how I feel when I get to 160.

As you heal you will feel better, the first few weeks are hard but you can get through them, we are all here for you. I like the new me healthy, happy, and getting skinny with every day. Out with the old me and in with the new me. This journey you chose to take is not a walk in the park it is a life change and well worth it. 3 Months Out..am I On Target?
We all lose at different rates depending on what you are doing (biking, running, walking, sitting and so on). I was sleeved December 12, 2011 so far I have lost about 78lbs, averaging about 8-10lbs a week, but the last 3 weeks have been very slow if at all (1-3lbs a week) but I was unable to get to the gym during that time and eating bad choices (vending machine food and take out) as I was on the go. There are many things that will effect the amount you lose as I have expressed. You are doing awesome congrats on the 50lbs . Welcome to the group and keep up the losing.

Becareful!
Family members are the hardest people to understand or make understand. Your sister should be hog tied for that remark. I am so sorry she said that to you. YOU will not be fat you will be happy, healthy, and even more beautiful then yo already are. You are doing this for you not anyone else. My husband says I'm eating to much my sister says I'm not eating enough my kids think I'm crazy for having it done. Now I just listen to myself and my God I don't need any nay sayers in my corner and when they try to get me to eat the wrong things I just tell them to back off I can do bad all by myself and don't need any help in that area, but thank you anyway.

What Do Mrs Potato Head And Dr Frankenstein Have In Common?
I'm so glad I am not the only one trying to make a new body for my self by looking at everyone else. I want J-Lo's butt and Dolly's boobs, Jane Fonda's legs and Wonder Woman's torso lolololololololol and her super powers, then doing house work would be quick and easy. heheheheheheh.

Week 17
Boy this week started off with a large bang. Sunday was wonderful with all the family here, I cooked for 2 days and it was great. My sister (Tia) went to church with me for the first time ever. The service was so moving and so emotional what a blessed day. That night Tia found a lump under her arm about the size of a quarter, we thought it was just another ingrown hair but by Monday night it was the size of an orange and really hurt. She still wasn't ready to go to hospital, so we waited until Tuesday after I got home from working for a friend. By this time it was the size of a softball and she was running a fever. So off to the hospital we went. The doctor on call was awesome he has taken care of her before and knew her history thank God for that. He called the surgen and they decided to admit her right away and do surgery the next day. Needless to say I was right there for her. It was a long night and vending machine food. There went my diet but she is so worth it. Wednesday early afternoon they came and took her in to surgery. Old habits die hard off to the machines I went. The only thing they have in them is junk to eat. by the time she was out of surgery I had eaten a cookie, crackers and drank a full tea. Thank God she did good and they had drained about 20oz of infection out of her underarm. Well they are still talking about not letting her come home until Saturday. Now we are just waiting for the results of what they found. The doctor says she could have just scratched herself and caused this because her sugars are out of control. He also said that this could happen again because of her sugars, he is going to repack it and check it out if it looks good she may get to come home that would be great. With all this walking the scale has moved and I have lost a couple of inches but the bad thing is that the darn vending machines bite, I have been so bad about my food intake all junk and very little good food the last 4 days I'm sure it will show up on the scale next week lol. Enough about my week hope everyone is doing great.

Craving Cold ?
The day after surgery I was eating ice chips. I can't drink anything warm or hot, except hot coco. I drink everything over ice or frozen. I think you are just fine. Doctor told me "If the cold liquid hurts your tummy don't drink it". So far I have no problems with cold stuff (food or drink).

Truth Moment: Does It Piss Anyone Else Off To Hear People Say The Surgery Is The Easy Way Out? Or You Could Just Stop Eating.
So far I have been very lucky and NO ONE has said a word to me about it other than "I am so happy for you and you will be so much better for it". I tell everyone that asks about my weight loss that I had the surgery, I am so proud of myself for having it done and not just sitting around complaining about how much I weight or how unhealthy I am. I want the world to know that I took the first steps in getting healthier and happier, I love sharing my story with everyone. I was very sick and taking a ton of pills had 5 heart attacks and a stroke, not able to exercise or even do house work (dishes, laundry, even make the bed) so this surgery (even though it could have killed me) was not the easy way out. It is my way back in to the world of the living and am so thankful for having it done.
