  1. All of this is new to me so i wasn't sure if i was supposed to be blogging, posting or something else. I'm computer literate but I'm not super savvy with this blogging/posting thing so i'm trying to work the kinks out..Thanks
  2. I have my fingers crossed and will pray for us both. The sleeve is another option but I'm trying to wrap my head around having 85% of my stomach cut off with no turning back....... I agree with you, gastric is way too drastic for me and not an option. So now I wait!!!
  3. Endoscopy is next week - we'll see what it reveals (or not).
  4. Something to think about. Nothing worse than asking a question and getting completely ignored. Thanks for responding.
  5. Hello All I've suffered from GERD (acid reflux) for the past five years. I'll be having a panendoscopy next week to see if the lining of my esophagus has been damaged and this will determine if I am a candidate for the lap band. It has gotten a lot better over the years but my doctor wants to be sure all is well. Has anyone had this procedure done? Also, for anyone that has dealt with acid reflux, have you noticed an increase/decrease in reflux issues since being banded???
  6. What an inspiration.....congrats to all!
  7. Am i doing something wrong? I started out by creating blogs to ask my questions and didn't get any response so i figured i was doing something wrong. Then i started looking at all of the different forums and started posting my questions there. I noticed some questions/topics get a lot of views and response and some get nothing; mine being one of them. Am i posting incorrectly? I am new to blogging so if I'm not doing it correctly could someone please help. I'm getting frustrated with the lack of response to my questions. HELP
  8. Justin - hope things are going well for you. There is so much to learn on this site and connections to be made. Finding this site was great for me. Not a day goes by that i haven't found a topic of interest or a question that I was going to ask. I haven't been banded yet but if you need a good laugh or need to scream i'm on here....
  9. Wow! you are knocking it it out of the park. Can i be like you when i get my band? Safe to say this working well for you. Please keep posting - i am so inspired by what you've done.
  10. Thank all of you for responding. I've had big girls for so long I can't imagine not having them. After I'm banded and start losng weight we'll see what happens. If the girls decide to "hang" around I'll look into reduction.
  11. Happy New Year!!! Just a quick question for anyone that doesn't mind answering. Just curious to know if anyone well endowed lost a lot of inches after WLS. I was contemplating a reduction but thought I should hold off until after I'm banded. I've lost some weight over the years but don't recall seeing a noticeable difference in the boob area. Does anyone mind answering this.

  13. Welcome! Haven't had mine yet as I am still completing insurance requirements. Keep us posted...
  14. Good luck. You picked a good place for info sharing.
  15. Good luck to you. Please keep up posted. I'm still completing apps per insurance requirements but maybe in a couple of months.

  17. Glad to see this. I'm excited but also scared of surgery. I have to say that today I've read a few negative and even scary lap band reviews. Everytime I question going through with this this forum reinforces the reason for me doing this. To all of you newbies we are all family and here to support each other.
  18. Thanks to all that responded. My thoughts are the same as everyone else. I dont hear complaints of the band not working more so the annoyance with the maintenance. I'm going to do some research on the band plication. I have a few months to go to complete everything so this gives me time to make the right decision for me. Lord knows I'm only planning on going under the knife once. Thanks again.... Merry Christmas to all
  19. Maybe I'm posting this wrong. I asked this before and didn't get a response. I'm just looking for a few comments on why you chose Lapband over sleeve. Both appear to be the same (somewhat) minus the maintenance required by the band. I'm just getting started but would love to know why the band was chosen over the sleeve.......
  20. Congrats on taking steps towards your new life with your family.
  21. Your emotions are shared by many. I'm nervous wondering if I should opt for the sleeve versus the band. As long as you have a good support system everything will be fine. There are so many people here to get us through this journey. Get ready to enjoy the rest of your life.
