  1. That's awesome!!! I'm excited do u have to do a pre-op diet? I have to do 2 weeks of nothing but yogurt, pudding, cottage cheese, 3 oz. portions of meat and tons of veggies but nothing over 800 calories a day
  2. I heard that most people feel ready 2 weeks out
  3. Well we will be using condoms lol I was on nuvaring but had to stop it due to severe abdominal pains due to it. I have to wait until a month after surgery before I can go on the pill
  4. I have surgery scheduled for Friday August 3rd WOOHOO but I have a question and I know my husband is going to ask me lol my husband is an over the road truck driver and I see him 2-3 times a month. How long do u have to wait after surgery before having sex? I'm sorry if it's a TMI question but no one ever asks or talks about it. Thanks Everyone

  12. So I found out today that my insurance approved me for gastric bypass and that my surgery is scheduled for Friday August 3rd WOOHOO I go for my pre-op diet class this friday which is my dad's birthday then Friday July 20th I start my pre-op diet which isn't all liquid. I'm now down to 257 pounds I weighed 315 pounds back in September/October time. I'm excited and nervous. I do suffer panic attacks so I hope those will get better also with weight loss.
  13. Okay so I'm a little frustrated right now. Friday I had scheduled my surgery date for July 18th but then the woman called me back and told me that the woman in charge of getting approval from insurances emailed her to tell her that they need to cancel my surgery date because I have VT Medicaid and it could take 1 week to 1 1/2 months to get approval and they don't want to have to reschedule my surgery at the last minute if they still hadn't gotten approval. Once she gets the approval from my insurance company I have to schedule my surgery date again. Anyone with state insurance, how long did it take before you were approved?
  14. You're in my thoughts and prayers
  15. Wow that's a great Pc I can't wait until I have some of those pics I can't wait until I have surgery
  16. They gave u pain pills? I haven't had surgery yet. I should be finding out on Thursday when I meet with my surgeon but where I'm going they give u a prescription for liquid pain medication because they said u aren't supposed to swallow anything bigger then a baby aspirin for the first month of surgery and all Vitamins u have to cut. Huh I guess each place is different. I'm glad ur surgery went good
  17. Does anyone know how long it takes for state health insurance to approve gastric bypass surgery? I go for my second 2 hour long pre-op appointment and I meet my surgeon. Now they are either going to schedule my surgery then get approval from my insurance or get approval from my insurance then schedule my surgery date. I have Vermont state health insurance and they said it could take awhile. Anyone know?
  18. It will get better I'm 25 and I'm trying to stay on track so I can keep up with my 4 year old daughter and 10 year old step daughter and my husband. I have cheated a few times also. I find out Thursday when my surgery is and they said I should have surgery by August 1st hopefully. Just keep reminding yourself why you are doing this. Also what I have found has helped me and post pictures of yourself at your heaviest all around your house especially in the kitchen. I did that and when I want ice cream or cake I see those pictures and I automatically get nauseas and grab a piece of fruit. It'll get better once your surgery date gets closer keep your head up
  19. Welcome I'm also going for RNY I should be finding out Thursday June 14th when my surgery is
  20. Wow that is awesome!!! I should be finding out on Thursday when my surgery is keep up the great work
  21. The program that I'm going through does have a support group but it takes 2-2 1/2 hours to drive there one way. I'm trying to find one closer to my house but I'm just thankful for this group. Reading everyone's stories and hearing about their surgery and what they have gone through has helped calm my nerves a little bit except for this whole drainage tube thing lol I hope that I don't need one but if I do then I do. I'm excited that I only have 6 days left until I meet my surgeon I'm hoping I find out then when my surgery date is
  22. Oh I'll be supporting u also how did your surgery go? Did u have tubes afterwards or no? I'm nervous about if I'm going to have tubes coming out of me or not lol
