Tuttle, can I ask how your weight loss is going?

Regret
I agree with both previous posts. Turn to one One who created you for true comfort. And remember He gave us Doctors and Celexa! There are also natural supplements that replace seratonin, which is very important for mood. Celexa is good for that too on a temporary basis. Gets you "out of the hole" so to speak.

Anyone Not Losing Their Hair?
Well, that gives me hope then! Although I've got hair loss issues due to menopause anyway..... It falls out then grows back. Repeatedly. Blech. I'm going to do my best to keep it, but I'm with bionicbroad.... i'd rather be skinny!

Anyone Not Losing Their Hair?
The info pack from my doc stresses the important of protein in regard to hair loss. It says if the body has to make a decision of "should we grow hair, or beat the heart?" It will choose "beat the heart" every time. Hair loses. Unless you are very faithful about consuming enough protein. I've heard that some lose it in spite of their best efforts. I fear this. :s BUT....it will always grow back. That's the good news.

Traveling? How Soon Post-op?

February 2012 Surgery Dates- Who's Ready?

Coffee After Gastric Sleeve Surgery ?
I don't know about decaf relating to the symptoms you describe, but everything I've ever heard or read says to avoid decaf. Especially chemically decaffeinated coffee. It's even being linked to increased LDL cholesterol rise. You're better off with a real cup o joe. That said, I don't think two cups (total) of ANYthing is going to do what you're describing. Better call right away!!

How Does The Stomach Heal Together From Vsg Surgery? Can Anyone Tell Me?
Great thread Penpen, thank you! Thank you everyone else for your input. It IS comforting. My BMI is almost 55, so some of this info is a bit disconcerting, but does not kill my resolve to get this done. The things I deal with on a daily basis and could face in the future make it worth it. Any other input is welcome. -danielle

How Does The Stomach Heal Together From Vsg Surgery? Can Anyone Tell Me?
Thank you. How long is leaking a risk? Just in the healing phase, however long that is?

How Does The Stomach Heal Together From Vsg Surgery? Can Anyone Tell Me?
I've been wondering about the process of healing along the staple line of the sleeve. I know on my surgeons website, there is a description of the stapling and then sewing up the outer edge of the staple line. Does the stomach itself actually start to grow together, sealing things up, or is the leak factor entirely dependent upon the staples and sewing?

Support System After Vsg
With women, EVERYthing seems to have an effect on estrogen levels. Age, weight gain, weight loss, the earth revolving around the sun . So, I'm guessing surgery and weight loss you've experienced before and after and the gravity of the permanent change in your body and your life.......just....might make one emotional and any changes in estrogen are going to exacerbate this emotional reaction. (I could be wrong )Give yourself some time to adjust. If there are people you need or need attention from- tell them! I'm sure they will care enough to do that. Chin up dear. Praying for you. -Danielle

We're going to Colleyville in the Dallas area. I'm going to Dr. Kim. I wanted the best and he seems to be right up there. We'll be there at least a week. Texas seems to have the best bariatric surgeons. Boy, I can't wait!
