I was told that if all went well, I'd be cleared for full physical activity at 6 weeks. I have a pretty conservative doc too, when it comes to healing schedule. I'm 4 weeks tomorrow, so looking forward to getting back to the workout.
  2. That makes me sad. I pray his heart changes before you marry him.
  3. I was a bit manic myself yesterday. My stomach just kept growling and growling. Woke up today and it was gone. Whew. We'll be eating normally soon. I had a really rich bisque a week ago and it made me nauseous as well. Too fatty.
  4. Patience dear Frodo, patience.... all in due time...
  5. I hope you are able to speak to him freely. Ask him if he REALLY loves you. If he does...then he needs to love you NOW. Not "when you get skinny." I'm married to a skinny guy too. They don't understand what we go through, but as a husband, it's their jobs to love us and live with us in an understanding way. If he can't love and accept you the way you are right now for the rest of your married life (assuming you never lost one pound...) then HE needs to change his heart and attitude. If you get skinny, that shouldn't be the basis for his love for you. Please tell him not to humiliate you any further and to just love you. Sorry...I get passionate about this subject! Marriage is sacred. BTW, you have pretty hair!
  6. Please try to push any liquids you can tolerate. Gatorade, Powerade, chicken broth, low sugar apple juice... I would say G2 or powerade zero, but at this point, I don't think the real version would hurt you! Please drink something. A lot of something. Don't push the protein shakes if that's scaring you away from drinking.
  7. *CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP!!!*
  8. Ooohhhhh. Well that's good, at least!
  9. Ya, the first week, they don't really expect you to meet any protein requirements. The focus is on liquid intake. Isopure makes a clear protein drink (fruit flavors) that GNC sells if that would help any. Not TOO tasty, but does the job. Don't stress about it this early. All you can do is what you can do, right?
  10. Sweetie, please do yourself a huge favor and let go of what ANYone thinks of how you look, especially a bunch of slobbering morons who can't see past a few pounds to who you really are. (Calm down guys, I'm only talking about the creeps!) A good man worthy of your attention and affection will love you just like you are right now (however that is;). I met my husband when i weighed 225 and he's been with me all the way up to 340. He's only loved me more every day. (Thank God!) I hope this decision is for how YOU feel about how you look and for your health. Don't try to please the meanies. Do it for you. I wish you all the best!
  11. Depends on how far out you are. Are you newly sleeved? Oh wait, I see you were done 5 days before me. I have had days like that. Not for a week or so though. If you're having trouble for a couple days, focus on getting as much liquids down as possible and take your vitamins. At least the multi. Do NOT get dehydrated or you will have a ticket straight to the E.R. If it goes on for more than a couple days, I'd call the doc. Do you think you have a stomach bug?
  12. Ohhhh...mashed potatoes never tasted SOOOO good!!!!
  13. It only seems like it will be this way forever, but it won't. I keep forgetting myself, that I won't be blending my food forever, and I get all happy thinking about chewing in a week. It's been a long....6 weeks since I've chewed. You WILL get there. AND.....when you start looking at that shrinking body in the mirror....you're not gonna give a rat's patooty what you're giving up for now! You'll start looking at people indulging and think "they don't know what they're missing!" Chin up! It's all normal feelings that will pass and/or change.
  14. Wow!!! What did they say was the cause of the obstruction? Was it an impaction or something else?
  15. I'm only down 40, but it's kicking' in!! YEAH baby!!! Hubby is very happy for himself! hahaha
  16. Hmm. It could very well be lack of fluids. I woke up today though, and that gnawing feeling is gone. I just feel normal today. It was just this constant thing yesterday. Really weird!!!
  17. (to all the grammarians out there, my title should say "its" not "it's." just had to clear that up!)
  18. Hey all- I will be 4 weeks out from surgery on Monday. Of course when I was on clears and full liquids, I got hunger pangs, because my stomach was always empty. No brainer. Now, however, I've been on blender foods or "mushies" as some say, for almost a week now. That has been very satisfying and mostly I haven't been able to eat but about a couple of ounces at a time. So, today comes along and I woke up with the hunger monster hovering over the bed! (For Dr. Kim's patients, you know that it looks like a smiling taco! ) I was eating 4 ounces at a whack today!! Tuna, cottage cheese with blended fruit, more tuna, squash... all kinds of stuff. I DID try to stay heavy on proteins, and I was around 600 calories or so, low fat, pretty low carbs. I DID take my acid medication. The only thing I did not do was have a protein drink. Could that possibly account for the continual rumbly in my tumbly?? It was not head hunger either, it was gut-wrenching hunger! My head was sick of eating! Does/has anyone experienced this? Is it a phase? sudden lessening of surgical swelling?? What???
  19. This Monday will make 4 weeks for me, and the scale hasn't moved for about 5 days. I know it will drop soon. My clothes are getting looser.
  20. Mine was two full weeks of Bari Essentials liquid diet. It had all the necessary nutrients to keep up energy. That and any clear sugar free liquids. It was pretty brutal for the first week, but apparently my liver shrank sufficiently, because I did not wake up with one giant incision! Whew!
  21. I bet it IS!! That's awesome!! Can't wait to join you... (happy dance)
  22. OH no! What's DVT? Did you get a blood clot? Is that why you got anticoagulants?
  23. Don't worry ladies, you do have restriction. I thought the same thing when I was on Protein shakes and cream soups. Then when I got to blender foods, and a few bites of real food protein went down, it HIT bottom and OH BOY!!! THERE's the restriction!! Be very careful when you get to that stage. One bite, then wait...then one more, then wait... You'll feel it, I promise.
  24. You've really been through the ringer! So, all that said...would you do it over?
  25. Don't forget it does grow back!! (stay up with your vitamins and protein)
