  1. OOHHH Food is stupid and it holds you captive!! I hate it!!! And I love it. It's made me feel good and it's made me feel bad. More often than not, it's made me feel bad. I'm SICK OF IT!!! I just wanted to get to the point where food is just something that keeps me alive, and I'm almost to that point. You need to get there with me!! See the future. Don't see what you can't eat now. See how you will feel and look. While you're sitting with your family eating your dainty little portion of food, you can feel superior to those who are gorging out and are going to feel horrible later! (evil laugh here...) Once you can start eating food again (It WILL happen, I promise!) You can enjoy most of the things you did before, just in much smaller quantities. (And in low fat, sugar free versions. You can still taste delicious things. You just can't dive headfirst into the bowl. You can do it! WE can do it!!
  2. I started at 340 and would also like to get back to 140-160 range. We'll see, I guess!!! I've seen people on here do miraculous things! Sounds like you're doing great! Don't be disappointed if you are not down much your first week. It's not expected that you are down much. There is still much surgical swelling and retention, so don't freak out if you're not down. You may "feel" it though. Good walking, keep it up!
  3. Just remember: There are no dumb questions- only dumb people. hahaha sorry, couldn't resist! It's not a dumb question. 2b is correct. The old stomach goes by way of the medical waste pile out back!! (boy I'm a riot tonight!)
  4. The other day, I did something B. A. D.!! I had a bit of a chocolate craving, so I was going to get one of those tiny Lindor truffle balls, but I couldn't find them, so I got a Cadbury chocolate egg. I thought I'd put my sleeve to the test. Just see where I am with this kind of thing. (risky, I know...) So, I nibbled on it for about five minutes. Finally choked it all down. Nothing. Nada. Zero. I felt FINE. (DARN IT) BUT......It tasted weird!! It did not taste like I remember chocolate tasting. There was a day I could have knocked back about 5 of those. That one did the trick for sure. I don't think I will bother again for a long time. Anyway...I don't think it killed me. It just won't be a habit. Next time I'll go for the Protein bar!
  5. AWWW shucks. Thanks guys!!! I knew I could count on you!!! xoxo
  6. SWEEEEEET!!!!!!!
  7. That is FANTASTIC news!! Praise God!!!
  8. I constantly wonder if I can REALLY really lose 200 pounds, or if I have to "settle" for less. You are my living proof!!
  9. It should be fine. You should be drinking 64 oz. of water on a regular day, so just add more to that on a day you've been in a sauna, or exercising, or if it's particularly hot outside. This is what you will have to get used to doing anyway when you're post-op. Must keep fluid levels up.
  10. Oh dear. That's worrisome. I'm still only 42, but i fear for the future. I have a hard time pushing the liquids. Yikes!
  11. I had to laugh when I read the title of your post, because my first thought was "my very sore muscles meant my body was in shock!!" LOL
  12. Hey, I love the fancy French store as much as the next guy, but their begrudging attitude toward carrying plus sizes has always annoyed me. They had some for a while, and now they're down to like what Soon2BMiniMommy said- could fit in the back of my Suburban. A couple of teeeeeeeny tiny racks. NOw....surely, I will not always NEED to buy plus sizes (Lord willing) But I can't just abandon my girls who still need it! BAD Target. BAD!!!
  13. guest.relations@target.com It took me forever to even get THAT info. I found a web page that had a comment box with 500 characters max. So I had to CALL to get the email address where I could vent more than that!
  14. 135 down. Wow, I can't wait for that!! It's amazing how much life gets easier with even 40 or 50 pounds! I stalled right when I got to 300. I was to excited to get to the 200s, and BAM Stall out. We shall persevere!!
  15. WOW!! well, you're doing great! Don't let the stress get you! Just keep going slow and steady!!! I have trouble taking my own advice, however
  16. I thought of a couple more i see a lot: Questions about dumping syndrome, drains, coffee and sodas.
  17. I will go to the gym. I will eat the right food. I will drink my water. I will keep doing what I'm supposed to. (Long sigh....) Now if my body would keep its end of the deal...... (kicks the dirt) Pity party over.
  18. I was at Forest Park as well. My surgeon is Dr. Kim, so I can't tell you anything about Dr. Nicholson, but I CAN tell you that F.P. is an AWESOME hospital! I was at the VERY end of the hallway, but that did not stop the constant flow of attention I got. They ALWAYS answer the call button within...seconds, and the rooms are huge, and the bathroom is huge, and it has a shower. I got the princess treatment there. I've heard Dr. Nick is great too!
  19. That's riiiight I remember now. I'm glad you did wait! You can better take care of yourself now.
  20. 2/13 here. I am doing well. Maybe TOO well. If "sleeve of steel" wasn't taken already, I think I'd change my name here! Unfortunately, NOTHING bothers my stomach except those rotten chewable vitamins from Bariatric Advantage. My capacity increased way too quickly for my liking. I am hungry all the time unless i've JUST eaten, so I have to be super duper careful. I too wanted fast and thrilling, since I started at 340. I think I've lost somewhere in the neighborhood of 45 if you count some pre op diet pounds. My scale is acting weird, and the scale at the gym says I've lost more than the one at home. I've only lost about 4 pounds in the last month, according to my wonky home scale. I go to the gym 3 times a week and do cardio and weight lifting. (Maybe I'm gaining muscle?) So....anyway....doing well. I'm just very very impatient.
  21. OOOHHHHHHH i wonder if that's what's been making me so darned HUNGRY!!!! UHH DOYYYY
