Lanie M got a reaction from cali_nessa in Did You Have To Do A Bowel Prep The Night Before Lap Band Surgery?I had to do it. When I first smelled the stuff, I thought, "not bad... cross between lemonade and red bull". When it hit my lips, I thought, "not good, cross between motor oil and ass". It wasn't as big of a party I had thought though.

Lanie M got a reaction from amaral1407 in Couch To 5KTrust me... my run was more of a clumsy fast walk. I figure any kind of movement is an improvement compared o what I've been doing.

Lanie M got a reaction from tandi04 in Liquid Diet Is Making Me Crazy!@tandi04, you can do it! It IS hard, I know, but it truly does get easier. I'm on day 8 now and really, I've never felt better. Yes, I"m hungry, but I feel great, my mind is clear and my body is on it's way to better health. I had an appointment with my surgeon yesterday and he asked how the liquid diet was going and I told him that it was mentally the hardest thing I've done, letting go of the food. So much of this liquid diet is psychological. (By the way, my doctor admitted he's never tried one of those nasty protein shakes. I told him that that all of the doctors should go a week on them, so they can relate to what we're talking about. He just laughed.) Keep your chin up and think of the end result. This couple of weeks is just a drop in the bucket in the big picture.

Lanie M reacted to Corrigan in 10 Day Lap Band Surgery Liquid Diet Fail!I guess you're going to have to start over. You'll do better tomorrow. It does get easier with practice, this is self
deprivation. It's going to take a bit of will power and a bunch of determination. You have to take it one day at a
time, like a recovering alcoholic. You're a recovering food junkie. If it gets to the point where you can't stand it,
think about what you'll look like in a year if you make a success of this. If you follow your dietitian's instructions, you should lose about two pounds a week, on average. That's about 100 lbs in a year. Would that be worth drinking
a cup of tea instead of eating a cookie? Everyone here has done it and we've all slipped once or twice, but you
have to get back on the horse, and try again. you're the only one who really knows how badly you want this and
whether you're willing to work for it (and it is work!). The rewards are worth it.
