  1. Had my five-month follow up with Kaiser bariatric two weeks ago and I have to say that I learned something! Weight loss had really slowed down... only five pounds this last month. The NUT gave me a new set of guidelines and guess what? I was eating too much. I'm still only supposed to be at 600-800 cals a day (until 6 months out). The previous Kaiser guidelines I'd been given were for more food at this stage -- one cup meals. The new ones call for 1/2 to 3/4 cup meal sizes. So I immediately started following the new guidelines and (surprise!) the weight is coming off again. Maybe wouldn't matter to those who exercise a lot, but I'm a little limited in what I can do. I'm very happy with my loss -- 78 pounds to date -- but still have a ways to go. I'm unhappy that I spent the better part of a month ready to throw my scale through the wall when it was actually me causing the problem by not following directions (or following incorrect guidelines, are you listening Kaiser?). Anyway, can't complain, they paid for everything, my out of pocket was only $200. Gotta love Kaiser. And your sleeve!
  2. Now if I could just figure out how to get rid of the old ticker!
  3. Havin' a little trouble updating the freakin' ticker.
  4. Updating my ticker now. Swore I wouldn't do it 'til I got to onederland! http://www.TickerFactory.com/weight-loss/wbTSXlO/
  5. Hey, no kidding, a pattern for sure. I finally got under 200 this morning... only 199.5, but I'll take it for sure. And I'M an October 14th 2011 sleever also!
  6. Hit 200 this morning... maybe under by Friday??? Wish me luck, been trying to get to onederland since Valentine's Day! Oh well, Easter works too!
  7. Big YAY to you! I'm at 202 and holding for the last week. More fish this week, fewer carbs... that's my plan. Cross everything!
  8. Guess I'm the oldest here... 63 when I was sleeved on October 14, 2012. Only regret is not having done it sooner.
  9. Been tryin' for onederland since February. Four pounds to get there. I've sworn that then and only then will I update my ticker! Will work out every day this week and see if that makes a difference. (I've been a bit of a slacker on working out...) Good luck all!
  10. Happy for u. Hope to join u soon!
  11. Congrats. Took forever to get back into the 16s, so I hear ya. Now it's taking me forever to get under 200... been working on it for three weeks now. Determined not to update my ticker 'til I get there. I WILL get there! I've lost 70 lbs to date and have been able to unload all of the boxes of clothes in different sizes that I saved for years. That in itself is a victory. To all of us struggling, HANG IN THERE.
  12. Crosswind, You have obviously given this a lot of thought and tremendous effort to date. There is much truth in what you say. Good luck to you, whatever your decision.
  13. I guess I'm the senior here at 64 (63 when I had surgery in Oct '11). As I've said before and often, my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. I had a perfect surgery, have never thrown up or suffered undue discomfort... I am one happy camper. I'm down 66 pounds and am just trying to get to onederland in February. I'll update my ticker then!
  14. But isn't it nice to know that you WILL get there? I never had that confidence before. You're doin' great, keep it up, keep on keepin on.
  15. I love your NUT too. Thanks for this post; it's encouraging.
  16. thank yew, thank yew very much!
  17. I'm officially half-way to my weight-loss goal! I'll be four months out on Feb. 14th. Hoping to give myself a Valentine's present of moving to One-der-land. Will update my ticker when I get there...
  18. Looking good! Way to work it.
  19. I am not just impressed, I am bowled over! Amazing job!
  20. Yeah, this and those goofy gowns at the doctors / hospitals. I thought I'd never fit ! You, my friend are awesome. Seven pounds to go??!! What you've accomplished is incredible. And yes, I can hardly wait 'til I have to put a doctors' gown on -- and be able to tie it!
