  1. My good choice radar wasn't working this past weekend. If it was food wrong, that is the way I went. So silly, I knew I shouldn't be having the sweets and the pastas and all the other stuff, but my mouth kept saying "yes, please". Thankfully my sister did more games and toys for the Easter baskets than candy. But everything else was a problem. Only managed to exercise two out of five days, our schedule was super busy so things got pushed out of the way. And portion control was non-existent. How does a person fix this? It felt like I abandoned the band rules this weekend and the band abandoned me.
  2. 172.8 moving in the wrong direction.
  3. I agree with everything that has been said here but would like to add something to the mix. You are talking about liquids for a week, soft for two and easing into solid foods. My docs instructions were, liquid 5 days, mushies 5 days then regurlar foods after that. If you don't think that was confusing after seeing the comments at this site! I have lost to date 42 lbs, so I'm not going to question my doctors instructions, but it does make a person sit back and think when reading about other banders who are on strick month long liquid diets. Is there a right way or a wrong way? Who is to say really. What works for one person may not work for another. I wish you continued success with your band and remember to take everything said on this site as a guide and not as fact. Everything is based on a very personal level and again it may or may not work for you. You have to find what works for you and push forward.
  4. Apparently I don't know how to quote anything on here. Sorry, I was just trying to put in an accurate start weigh. April 1st-171.2 I can do this. I know I can.
  5. Feels great doesn't it. Keep up the good work and enjoy the attention, it never gets old.
  6. Thank you for posting. I have had 3 fills, 1cc, 1cc and the last .25cc. I have not had this experience nor have I felt any type of restriction. Since reading this post I believe I am in a better position to find the green zone without going back and forth. If I get the gurgling sensation, I'll know it is too much and request some be removed. Thanks again for the info.
  7. Great job. And thanks for sharing. I've been a bit down lately and reading NSV's always perks me up. Thanks again.
  8. Final weigh in 173. Up one pound. I hate this. Can't seem to get below 170. Haven't met a goal yet and getting very frustrated.
  9. Hugs coming your way. Hope they help. I have to agree with everyone above, perhaps it is time to talk with someone and let go of your burdens. Perhaps getting them out in the open will make them more manageable. I also agree that you have a whole lot going for you. Keep your eyes on the positive and fix the things you have control over. I wish you the best. Remember you have a lot of people here pulling for you.
  10. Congratulations, there is no better feeling than surprises like that on this weight loss journey. And kuddos to your daughter for knowing better than you what size you needed.
  11. Surgery date was 11/18/11 and I'm down 8 1/2 bags of sugar. How weird to think of it this way. I'm not sure I could carry 8 bags of sugar....

Exercise goal for April~zumba twice a week, add in another two days and stick to it Personal goal for April~to start recognizing the thinner person in the mirror and to be happy with the changes instead of seeing the imperfections Date banded~11/18/11 Total weight loss since banding/pre op diet~Down 42 since meeting my band doctor 6/12/11 What is your favorite part about spring~ The buds on the flowers, being able to spend more time outside doing instead of in the house flattening the couch cushions. I've been stuck on a scale plateau for about six weeks. I had a fill on March 7th and unfortunately I saw the scale move in the wrong direction. I got that under control but haven't been able to get it lower than the day of my fill. Very frustrating. I hope April brings a new focus and some noticeable weight loss. I'm tired of this defeated feeling. 13. I agree with the above posts. I did not measure prior to surgery and regret it quite a bit. I do have the measurements the doctor took but it isn't the same. I wish I'd taken all kinds of measurements pre-surgery. I have hit a plateau with the scale the last six weeks and while I was getting super frustrated, I realized when I went shopping to replace the clothes that were falling off, that I was in a smaller size. Having my measurements might have prevented the cloud of depression that settled over me. Perhaps my plateau wouldn't have lasted so long.

    Awesome. Congratulations.
  16. If you don't get the answers you need from your doctors office, you might want to contact these people: Lindstrom obesity Advocacy and the email address is walter@obesitylaw.com. My doctors office uses them to fight insurance appeals. Not sure how it would work from an individual standpoint but I did nothing other than sign an authorization form. The doctors office forwarded my medical records to them and they dealt with the insurance company directly. I had a response from them within two weeks. And whenever I had questions, they were quick to respond via email. Good luck with whatever you decide.
  17. That was an awesome article. I needed to read it. I've now printed it and will refer to it often. I know this band is a tool, but find myself wondering occassionally, why I can eat as much as I can? Isn't the band working. Frustrating really. This article is a wake up call for me to be more accountable to the band not the other way around.
  18. Congratulations and Happy Birthday.
  19. 172, still. Going on six weeks with no change. So unhappy.
