To all the lapbands out there!
Yes I have been banded 6 1/2 years and some afternoons are fine and some. ??? Keeping enough water in me helps. One day to the next. I don't know. Once my band is irritated I have to back off for a day. AMs I'm not hungry and food is hard for me. Maybe a protein drink. Or 1/2 a banana. But not till 2-3-4 is my band open and I can have a meal. Just me. But it does sound a bit like you too???

Killing my progress with late night snacking!
Night time is also hard for me. Days are great. On track. Not very hungry in am. Yogurt or banana around 11. But at 9-10 at night I have to plan something good. Frozen yogurt once in a while. Is it my head? I feel hungry. Usually try to go to bed. Or take a hot tub. But feel like I need something. Do others have this problem? I am 6 1/2 years out and very happy with my choice to change my life for good. Not just for 3 months like before

Traveling
- Traveling
I do struggle when I fly. The extended sitting and my band is more sensitive. I have to be very careful first day to keep it soft and or liquids. After a day it calms down for me. Could also be slight dehydration for my band to act up nonce it is irritated I have to ever vigilant for a day. Even my doctor mentions this a lot- I felt my port fold/bend when I bent down
- The "Do Over" journey
I would love to have a support group also. I have been banded since 06 and am fairly stable weight wise. When I got too filled about 2 yrs ago, I had an unfill. Shocked myself how easy it was to revert to poor habits, even though I worked out a lot. Thanks to this site I found a local doctor who soon had me back to where I needed to be. I am so thankful for my band. I know I need it to keep me "normal" sized whatever that means to each of us personally. For me it means regular sized clothing. We all have our own sense of where we need to be size and or weight wise Please let me know if a group forms. I would really appreciate it Julie- weighing oneself
I, personally, am not keen on weighing myself often. After 7 years banded I depend on my jeans and other clothing to tell if I'm a bit up or down. It just affects my mood and attitude too much to depend on that day 's number. I'm so happy I chose to change my life❤. Sometimes I'm a bit up sometimes a bit lighter but now I feel NORMAL. Whatever that is to each of us!- Flight yesterday, stuck this morning
I know I have to try to have soft food for a day if I've been stuck. Protein drinks. Even like "boost" are usually available at drug stores . once my band is irritated I have to be diligent. Good luck to you. Hope you get some results!- Almost 4 Years
I get it too. Hard to maintain. Years later the newness wears off and the weight creeps. I am getting a fill. Keeper postef- Have Thrown Up Twice Today After Eating
For me. I have to go liquids for a day. Once I'm irritated. It's misery. I have to rest my band for a day with wet food soupthen start out cottage cheese-Type food Then see if I can be usual. Loosening is not unusual if no relief in a week. Maybe? Everyone is different. Good luck. Keep it up !- Low Bmi And Weight Loss

- Bad Stuck Episode!! :(
Where do you get papayas enzyme? I use antacids some. And the walking- Weight Gain?
- Food Ideas
Sometimes I have to go with protein drinks or bars to calm an irritated band. Also soups. 6 years and still trying to figure it out. Good luck- Tender Port Area - 3 Weeks Post Op
I have also heard of ports being placed in different areas. Some by belt line, some by bra line. Wondering what is common. Mine gets a bit irritated when my bra rubs it certain times. Any one else?- I Love Been Banded And Plicated!
Thanks for the info. I am always interested in what is new in the WLS world. Sounds like it is working for you. Please keep all of us informed of your personal journey. I, myself , was banded in 2006. One of the best decisions of my life. Not without pitfalls however. Sure helped with the onset of menopause( whole other post) best wishes for success- I Love Been Banded And Plicated!
Sorry to sound uneducated but what is plicated? Does it help? Do tell- Fell Off The "band Wagon" After One Year, But Getting Back On! Any Help?
I liked what you said about not being huge. EVER. And I could have gone that way. In my previous self. Not now. Worked too hard. For too many years..... to go back to being so tired. And not liking ME. That being said. Life is about choices. And a cocktail shall be my choice next week!,,with diet lemonade- Fell Off The "band Wagon" After One Year, But Getting Back On! Any Help?
Thanks for the comments. Like I mentioned it is nice to see some seasoned bandsters chat about the long haul. 4 years for you. That is great. Think if you hadn't done it and the weight kept going up. Crummy week to not lose. But you did it. Menopause is not helpful in my case. But also me and my personal journey. And vacation and cocktails coming. Fun !!! not helpful for weight loss. Sigh. Still. Looking forward to it❤❤ - Traveling
