  1. I just had a fill on Monday and now I can not even eat a 1/4 of a banana. Is this normal? Before the fill I had no restriction at all.

    December Bandsters!! How Ya Feeling??

I was banded Dec 13th. I am down 25 lbs. I have been feeling great but had a set back this week, I came down with the stomach flu. It was pretty scary. I vomited 4 or 5 times and was afraid that my band slipped. I called my Dr and was told what to look for once I was able to eat again. I am pretty sure I am ok. I was able to eat tomatoe soup with crushed crackers in it and everything went down and stayed down. I am thinking about putting my scale away also....I think I will drive myself crazy if I don't.

    First Nsv For Me!!!

What does "NSV" stand for? I know that it is something good but can't for the life of me figure it out. Also congrats on your progress!!

Where To Begin....3 Days Post Op I Guess

I was banded on Dec 13th. I spent the night in the hospital and was discharged after lunch on the 14th. I had a hernia repaired at the same time and I am not sure if that is the reason for it but I had a lot of nausea. Day 2 was not much better but day 3 is going much better. I have had some jello and protein drink so far today.
  7. I will be banded tomorrow and my Dr will be sending me home on full liquid diet. I don't understand how some doctors have people on clear liquids and some don't. Why do some people have to be on the pre op diet and some don't.

Having The Lap Band Put On 12/13/11

I am getting banded on the 13th also. I started my liquid diet last Tuesday, Nov 29th. It hasn't been easy but it has not been terrible either. I actually started watching what I was eating the week before Thanksgiving. I have lost 17 lbs so far. This is encouraging to me. I am 50 years old and I have had my ups and downs with my weight. It really ballooned 4 years ago. I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer and had a bilateral mastectomy followed by chemo and radiation and aprox 12 reconstructive surgeries. I gained 30 lbs during chemo partially due to the steriods they give you during chemo and then packed on an additional 40 lbs just eating anything and everything because I could. I was happy to be alive and loving life. Then when I finally stopped and got a grip on it, I could not find any diet that I could follow for more than a few days. I could not get my appetite under control. I am soooo ready to get a grip on this and nip it in the but once and for all. I wish you much luck with your weight loss journey and I will be following your progress.
  9. Congrats....My surgery is scheduled for Dec 13th and I hope I have the same results. That is a very encouraging post!!!
  10. I am scheduled for my lap band surgery on Dec 13th. I will be starting my 2 week pre op diet on Nov 29th. I am teetering at the weight that I started at and was told today that they WILL NOT do the surgery if I gain ANY weight. I am trying to watch but it is very difficult. Thus the reason for the lap band. I am not worried about Thanksgiving but Christmas will be a challange. Especially since I don't have a lot of support at home.
