  1. I was in for 2 nights, and that seemed to be the standard.
  2. I have the Ninja Master Prep and I love it. Cost be about $30 at Walmart. It has a "traditional" blender container and a small food processor container and you just connect the motor to whichever you want to use. It turns ice cubes into snow and I add about 2-3 oz of juice or crystal light for a hydrating slush (I'm only 6 days out). I also have 3 blender bottles for mixing other drinks.
  3. Congrats to everyone going in next week-that time is gonna fly by!
  4. I was also told that wrapping your tummy in warm towels (moist heat) helps with gas bubbles too. I have a microwaveable "bed buddy" that's been soothing in that area.
  5. Please let us know how you're doing when you get a chance---keeping you in my thoughts...
  6. I too was given the lortab elixir...it is a bit--tangy, but it seems to kick in pretty quickly. I'm day 4 now, and I do feel better than yesterday...I was Rxd levsin, I think, but I haven't taken it yet cuz the pharmacy didnt have it and had to wait for today to ask the doc if a substitute was ok...gasx strips in the meantime...Hope you start to feel better soon!
  7. 3 days out know and slowly learning the difference between a sip and a drink--drinks hurt! i'm also having pain all in my belly, now that the on-q is gone--especially where the drain was placed. now it just a big ol hurtin hole. i guess it could be worse though--i don't have a fever or anything, and i chose lortab elixir over morphine so could be away at least a little while each day anyone else having all over belly pain and drain pain? i have to keep reminding myself that it's only been 3 days, so i'm not really worried yet, just tre uncomfortable...
  8. Surgery was 2/9, so i'm 2 days out. The gas pain in my belly is pretty killer, but other than tha, i guess i'm okay. Tired, and ready to go home, but hubby brought the ipad over last night, so i thought i should check in. Pardon any typos, my eyes and fingers aren't matching up too well...i think it's the drigs but i'm sleeved--yay!
  9. Congratulations--glad it's going well...I'm up tomorrow morning--so schooch down a bit and make room for me! :thumb:
  10. You're probably out by now; I hope all went well--congratulations on making it to your day!
  11. @kateyez--lol-that is hiLArious!! @kimmy thanks so much for the support!
  12. yay for day-of-love babies! thanks for the support!
  13. Thanks alexandra--be sure to keep checking in! In terms of my pre-op diet, I've done really well--no cheats--but I'm sure that's largely because I can eat protein bars, lean meat, salad/vegetables, eggs, cheese, and nuts if I get hungry beyond protein shakes. This weekend was harder than I expected, what with my in-laws being in town, eating out, a chocolate cake, and cooking/baking for 5 people. I actually got a little weepy for a minute yesterday--which felt really weird (like, why am I crying, and dang, I really do have a relationship with food!) and I wasn't even hungry! It was just that I couldn't have what I wanted and everyone else was partying it up...oh well, I made it through and I feel good about that. On Wednesday, it's all clear liquids, though. I'm sure that one will be a challenge! Looking forward to being around lots of food and not wanting most of it!
  14. you lost that much with no loose skin?! my hero!
  15. Thursday, 2/9 at 10am!! Right now I feel like this is going to be the longest week of my life, but I bet that by Wed night I'll be wondering where the time went! Good luck to all!
  16. good for you,Lyra, and funny you should ask! I had dreadlocks for 6 years, and decided to take them out (you don't necessarily have to cut all your hair off) a couple of weeks ago. my head feels so light now! I think it was all a part of that upcoming major transition...when is/was your surgery?
  17. Look at you!! Congratulations--Sleeve of Steel indeed! :Banane09:
  18. Thanks, y'all! Had a dream last night that I was at this big delicious buffett and there was nothing that I was allowed to eat! It's funny cuz I felt pretty good last night after my first day of pre-op dieting--and my diet is a little more lenient than some I've seen. Guess my mind is trying to adjust already...
  19. Yay, Darla! Will be sending good-surgery vibes to you tomorrow!
  20. I love how supportive everyone is here...and the quick replies I'd spend so much time worrying about how my parents would react when I told them--even had a dream about it--and they were super cool! All kinds of do what makes you happy, life's too short type stuff! YAY!
  21. Thanks guys! I guess this will be sort of a rebirth-day for me to share with you: Lilee and your son: Vance my actual b-day is 2/14, and I think this is a pretty cool gift to myself! I'll be sure to check in afterwards...
  22. Just wanted to share that I went to my consult with the surgeon today and was scheduled for 2/9! :woot:So now I'm really excited and nervous--ish just got real! Ok, now I have to be about the business of telling my parents and brother, and in-laws (well, I know I don't have to tell people, but I will). The in-laws will be here this weekend, so I'll be doing all of the cooking and none of the good eating It'll all be worth it though--yaaay!! :Banane09:
  23. Oh, sorry--I thought you were at the end of the process--in that case, they'll probably provide a bunch of info up front, but it never hurs to have your own questions ready...good luck anyway!
