So I'm home, my sleeve is done and I am walking and sipping and doing all the right things. It is sore, ut owhere near as painful as expected and I'm getting noticeably better every day. Imaging feeling like you've just done heaps and heaps of ab exercises- that is how I feel today 3 days out.Cat still sick, but can't deal with that until I'm stronger. It will be interesting to see how I manage on my own now, will keep you all posted. Off for a nap in my OWN bed! YAY!
  3. Thanks peeps, am home now. Phew!
  4. Hi Patrick, I'm also thirsty and trying to keep sipping. I have the 1000 crunches incision pain thing going on too but gas pain is minimal.I was getting up to walk and blow the respiratory thing every hour, and today I'm stiff and sore all over though from lying in one position when I do lie down, and my rear end hurts for some reason.LOL - The main thing is, I am HOME!
  5. Hey there Milca, a friend who had a lapband and then revised to sleeve gave me great advice about swallowing. She said take a sip, hold the water in your mouth, and kind of let it trickle in tiny drops down your throat. Takes some doing but I got the hang of it after a while. If I swallow a sip normally it doesn't feel great, there is a little bit of uncomfortable pressure.
  6. A high five from right beside you on the losers bench Patrick ( or should I say hospital bed) ...
  7. I'm drinking diluted apple juice and chicken broth no problem. The major tip I have for everyone is that if your doc doesn't supply a tummy pillow (like mine didn't) find a firm rectangular pillow to take to the hospital, it has been a GODSEND to press against the tum while getting up and down and walking.
  8. Great you are recovering well Milca, after your test - sip sip walk walk! we made it!
  9. No in Abu Dhabi :-D
  10. I'm still in the hospital, was sleeved about 18 hours ago- quite a bit of pain at first but not at all as bad as I thought it would be. The meds are helping and I'm going for a swallow test shortly. Then I can sip water and walk some more. Saluting you all from the losers bench!
  11. Am typing this from my hospiital bed, my surgery was about 12 hours ago. I was in a bit of pain with nausea but they have me on some meds for that. One incision is noticeably more sore and I feel Like I've been punched in the tummy and bruised. Other than that it is nowhere near as painful as I thought it would be. I'm finally on the losers bench!
  12. I'm OK- doesn't seem real! I sat at the vet today and brushed my kitty and she was quite responsive so it made me feel a bit better about her. They will do more blood tests tomorrow and I'll call on my way to surgery.
  13. Thanks for the all the support, you lot are AWESOME xox

Well it has come down to the wire finally- my surgery is tomorrow between 8am and 10 am my time, here in the Middle East - I reckon I am about 8 hours ahead of many of you. Visited my sick little kitty at the vet, bought some more rtd Isopure clear drinks, tidied the house, and chugged water all day in the hopes of staying somewhat hydrated for tomorrow. I have been officially fasting for surgery for two hours as I write- it is 10 hours until 8am! I'm quite nervous and actually I can feel I've been grinding my teeth all day. My bag is pretty much packed and I'm going to do a final weigh-in early in the morning before my friend Debs takes me to the hospital. Anxious, excited, pleased, dismayed, scared- it's all going on in that thick skull of mine... I made a youtube channel and posted my first video if anyone's interested, here it is. SLEEVIE HERE I COME!

  16. Don't worry Shannon- I'll be the first July "guinea pig" in our group as I have to go in at 8am (my time) tomorrow morning, and time-wise I am 8 hours ahead of you! I'm pretty nervous but I'm ready. I'll be right beside you and Patrick ! Good luck to us all!
  17. Maybe you are not mentally ready- my sugrgery is tomorrow too, I'm flipping anxious but I'm going for it...
  18. Thank-you! I'm tomorrow!
  19. I am having surgery on Monday and my " time of the month" has kicked in now! Aaaaargh! I usually get a really heavy flow with cramps and headaches- don't want it to get worse!
  20. Hey Patrick, I KNOW- what is with our July 2nd date? It seems to be WILDLY popular! I keep hoping it is because it falls on a mystically auspicious day for surgery... I have been doing the OMFG freaking out dance for a few days now...
