  1. haha ok, please explain the liver thing? crazy, we're pretty much jn the same boat!
  2. It just feels so premature for me to be behaving this way, since I haven't even been approved. Maybe I'm trying to guarantee a higher BMI so I qualify? It seems more justifiable if my surgery was scheduled, or just around the corner!
  3. I have a BMI of 30 and am currently trying to get approved to go down to Mexico for vsg. I am so excited, I want this so bad! However, I am completely out of control with my eating. All day long all night long. I'm also drinking too much. Anyone else have this experience? I feel disgusting, but I can't stop.
  4. I haven't yet. I am still in the phase of getting my blood work and everything to the company I am going through. I am a very similar case to you though in weight, and I am so grateful for stumbling across your story! It gave me the courage to go through with this.
  5. I am in the same boat as you with a BMI in the low 30's. I have found many people on here who seem to have had the surgery with low BMIs and much success. From what I understand you will lose your weight, but it can just come off slower than someone who would be morbidly obese. Read further down to hear lots of stories of lower BMI people!
  6. Thanks guys, there's so much to think about! Will one more diet/excercise regime work? Is this too extreme? Will people judge me? I am still not sure what I'm going to do, but at least I know there's people who have been in my shoes, and who are supportive.
  7. I am going through the same thing right now! With a lower BMI its so easy to always fall back into the diet mentality of "maybe THIS diet will finally work!"
  8. I have heard about the balloon, but I feel that this is just like going on another diet, as its not permanent. How many times have we all made the "lifestyle changes" required of us, only to crash and burn amd start right back where we were?
  9. OOPS!! I meant 29 or 30! Edited.
  10. Hey everyone! This is my first post in the forum! Where to start? I am 26 years old, with a BMI around 29 or 30. To look at me you wouldn't think I am obese or anything, just overweight. I grew up as an obese child and have since lost 50 lbs, but keep on putting back the same 10, 20, 30 lbs back on my body. ITs so frustrating. To lose I feel that I basically need to starve myself and I gain back so quickly. Even though I'm only 26, I bet I have gained and lost 250 lbs over the course of my life! I have been dieting since I was 9, and thoughts of my weight, food, and how my clothes will fit consume my thoughts everyday. I feel as if I am insane sometimes. I can literaly gain and lose 20 lbs in a month. I can't imagine what I'm doing to my body, and I just can't diet anymore. I am consdering getting the VS survery. My dad had it as a severely obese man and is doing amazingly, but I am afraid to talk to my parents about it. I know they think I am not overweight enough. Has anyone else been in this situation? I know I'm ready, and I want to better myself and my life. I know this will just be a vicious cycle that will continue for the rest of my life. I need some guidance and thoughts. Thanks so much, and I look forward to getting to know some of you!
