Pjtp...again!
I saw Rocky Horror numerous times when I was younger, and I am so sorry about the over-zealous fan with the water pistol. I WANT to see Good Hair, but I can't find it playing anywhere near here. It is really ticking me off. One of my best friends and I were planning on seeing it.

Home Thread...for the thread homeless :)
I am so glad mine are older now. My rule was we didn't open the door for anyone, not even daddy. Anyone that was supposed to be at our house had a key. Even then, it was probably not until they were 6 or so that I would take a shower until my husband got home. It is a sad world we live in...My kids are older now, 15 and 17 and my fears are different, but you never stop worrying about them.

Jenn: I hope your son feels better soon. I hate it when my kids are sick and they are old enough to handle it.

I plan on making homemade chocolate chip cookies tonight for my students. It is the dough that kills me. I can not step away from it. I am just hoping to make it until the end of December without gaining any weight at all.

Halloween Candy House of Horror
You are stronger than I am... I bought the aforementioned candy of Satan, otherwise known as Reese's Peanut Butter Pumpkins. The dang possessed things called my name ALL NIGHT LONG! Cindy...Cindy...Cindy...eat me. It was creepy, so I brought them to school, and fed them to the kiddies. Well, I fed MOST of them to the kiddies. Some disappeared on the way to school. I have no idea what happened to them, honest.

Is anyone paranoid about moving the port with excercize?
I have not tried to do crunches or ab work, frankly because I am lazy, but I have ACCIDENTALLY done a crunch-type movement while putting on pantyhose and I must say it felt "weird". I could definitely feel my port being squished. That is the only way I can explain it, and I didn't like it at all.

PCOS+LapBand+No Fertility Drugs=Pregnant? Anyone done this?
My friend is 32 and was banded 2 weeks before me in July '08. She already had a 6 year old boy and twins that were 6 months old. Both pregnancies required fertility drugs. She simply did not ovulate without it. 4 months after being banded, she lost 40 lbs and began ovulating without realizing it. She found out she was pregnant when her twins were 11 months old! Her baby is now 5 weeks old and they are both fine.

Pjtp...again!
Speaking of surprise visits...try having your assistant principal come in for a 5 minute walkthrough and see you are eating ice cream while teaching!!! My para brought ice cream to make sundaes for our students, which we made for them and they ate at recess. WELL... I ate mine after recess when social studies started. This is, of course, when she chose to walk in and observe! I made no apologies and continued my lesson on Plymouth. Too bad they didn't have ice cream back then or I could've worked it into the lesson. Dang those Pilgrims and their crappy food. I guess that is my punishment for eating ice cream.

I don't know if I can get caught up Michelle: I hope you get a lot better soon, being sick sucks. How is your head? Tracy and Suzie: I HATE THIS RAIN....DANGIT! and Suzie: step away from the candy, remember, it is the food of Satan! Jenn: sorry about the court crap...that sucks Irene: congrats on your mom being cleared I am so tired...oh, and I ate ice cream at school:ohmy:. Michelle, my para, brought ice cream to make sundaes for our students because in BOTH of our classes, every student had their agendas signed by their parent. She is so sweet to our kids, and she is an incredible asset to our classroom. I love her!!! But, she brought that ice cream...I would like to pretend she forced it on me, but alas, my big butt willingly ate it:blushing:. Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

July Butterflies Master Thread
Oh no, hun, he bought them for ME, AS A SURPRISE!!!! Gee thanks, dear....reallly, I appreciate it. I do love him, AND those peanut butter pumpkins. I am just glad they are now gone and there won't be any to be found after Saturday. The stores never have extras. Two years ago that would make me angry, but today, I am thankful.

Ok, so I may be starting this a little late...
I am sorry about the gas pain. Most people say that this is the worst part.

It is hard when my husband is so SWEET to me...NOT! Read what he did to me LAST NIGHT! Ok, I am now convinced my husband must secretly love torturing me, or he wants to keep me fat so no one will look at me. The man I have been married to for 19 years, came home with a 1 lb 10.8 oz bag of REESE'S PEANUT BUTTER PUMPKINS!!! I hear the possessed demon things calling me. I am right now trying to type this and still cover my ears. cindy....cindy....cindy Can you hear it?! AAARRRGGGGHHHHH:scared2: I need help...or a divorce:crying:

Pheterine
Everything they said above. Took it, lost on it, gained back everything I lost, plus some. If you have gained and lost numerous times before, I would probably forgo the drug route.

Anything I should know about having a cold with the band?
I just had the flu with pneumonia last month. I did all of the above. I consumed basically just fluids for about 3 days. I also drank lattes and hot chocolate for the warmth and protein from the skim milk. I wasn't on liquid meds, just capsules, but I can see how NyQuil would be good.

Ok, so I may be starting this a little late...
Good luck with your surgery and if you want to talk post op, feel free to pm me. All of these thoughts sound a little normal pre op. I had many of the same fears. As far as clothing...oh my, I am one of the best dressed teachers at my school. The administration NEVER worries about whether what I am wearing is nice enough. Prior to surgery, it was khakis and tees every single day! Food? I eat all of the things you are thinking you will never again have. It depends on how restricted you NEED your band to be for you to lose. I eat most anything I want, just a lot less of it.

Simple Poll - If you had it to do over...
Being banded was the best thing I have ever done for myself. I would do it again in a minute.

In need of advice from my fellow bandsters
If you exercise 7 days a week and eat the above amounts of food, you probably aren't eating enough. Journal everything you eat and drink for a week and write down the activities you do. You can use fitday.com or sparkpeople. But, it definitely sounds like you aren't consuming enough calories for the amount of activity you are engaging in every day.

Tracy: It hasn't rained here today, thankfully. It looked gross almost all day, but no rain. Suzie: regarding Halloween candy, I do believe that reese's peanut butter pumpkins are the work of the devil...they will be the downfall of me yet! Luckily they are so yummy,:cryin: there are never any left on the shelves close to Halloween, so I am almost safe!:wink2:

Smoking and the Bandit
Congratulations on your decision to be banded and quit smoking. It is such a big step on your road to a healthier future. Be aware that if you are using patches, you are still getting nicotine in your system and it will should show up on the test. You would be better off trying Chantix or Wellbutrin. Many say Chantix is better, but more expensive. If you want to be quit by December 2, please try to get one now. Good luck!
