  1. Thanks side note...Can you believe the crap that Howie Mandel went through to avoid the public toilet, jeez!:tongue_smilie:
  2. Ok, I saw the followup of Daniel, but I didn't see Shay's. I saw when she went home, but not the "look what she looks like now". Dangit. Did they show it?
  3. At mushy stage you can try eating some refried beans with sour cream and cheddar or even chili that is blended up with the sour cream and cheddar. Try foods that have a little higher calorie count for now just to try to get more in. The tuna is great, but isn't helping you get your amounts in. Or, make the tuna into tuna salad by adding a little mayo and relish. Also, I realized I never answered the original question... at my 4 week appt post-op, I had lost 25 lbs.
  4. Try to get your calorie count up some. Are you on liquids, mushies or solids now? At whatever stage you are on, you need to find a way to get more food/nutrition in. You are probably correct about not getting fill, but if you aren't eating now, you don't need one. Please be honest with your surgeon when you go for your checkup. List what/how much you are eating on a daily basis so they can analyze it for you. Good luck and update after your appointment.
  5. Michelle: I already told you on another post, but "I love it" Tracy: We are planning on going to Florida for Thanksgiving. My kids are older, so we are going to Universal Studios for 4 days. We haven't been on a family vacation that didn't revolve around my daughter playing ice hockey in over 4 years, so we are really looking forward to it. I am NOT, however, looking forward to boarding my sweet doggie.:tongue_smilie: Suzie: It saddens me on a daily basis what some of my "babies" go through everyday. Many of them hate to go home everyday. At school, they know just what is expected of them. It is consistent, and positive. At home, sometimes they never know what is going to happen. Jennifur: I am doing ok, thanks for asking. I just talked to my dad and I will need to take a day off on Thursday to try to help him get my mom to the doctor. My brother and my mom have appointments at the same time and my mom can't be left at appointments anymore. Her Alzheimer's is too advanced. She walks around angry at him all the time for some imagined thing he has done. She refuses to have tests done because she has irrational fears that it will kill her. We are at a loss as to what to do. It is taking such a physical toll on my dad that he was in the ER last week from not keeping food down. He had gastric bypass in June and if he is overly stressed his stomach knots up. It is almost like being banded when he is stressed.
  6. Short hair suits you really well. I love it!
  7. Thanks for sharing your story, you look incredible.
  8. Congratulations on your success. You look amazing!
  9. Michelle, good luck with the haircut and post pics if you feel comfortable. I would really like to see it, because the styles you have picked are great. I have never had short hair...EVER. My hair is thick and wavy, so I couldn't sport a cute hair style like those. I just wash mine and let it dry. That is why it looks like it does.:tongue2:
  10. It depends on how restricted you are. I don't have any problems taking pills, but if you are concerned, you may want to try miralax. It is relatively tasteless and can be mixed into any liquid. I just use it in water.
  11. I'm in, although I am pretty sure I won't lose that much. I am mainly focusing on not gaining anything during the holidays.:w00t:
  12. Michelle: I hope you feel better soon. I HATE when my chest is gunked up.
  13. Congratulations, that is amazing!
  14. I attended a seminar in May, called the surgeon's office on June 23rd for a consultation, they called and told me my insurance approved it on June 26th, did preop on July 3rd and had surgery on July 14th 2008. It went extremely fast. If I wasn't working summer school, I would've had the surgery on July 3rd.
  15. I had surgery at 11 and was home around 4. As far as time off work, I probably would've needed a week to be safe. I am a teacher and was off of work anyway, but a week would've been necessary, at least for me.
  16. I haven't sipped water since my post op diet. I guzzle it, and it never gives me a problem. It shouldn't pose a problem for you unless you are severely restricted.
  17. Michelle: yes, my name is Cindy. My DSD is doing a little better. Her husband has taken a three week leave to help until they can try to get her pain regulated. We will be going this weekend to see them, so I will know more then.
  18. Tracy was on the Leno show last night. I thought they weren't supposed to be seen on shows until the finale, since that is only a few weeks away. I guess not. I know that she and Abby have been on the morning show I listen to and Tracy did not say how much she lost so far and she did not tell her weight last night on his show, either.
  19. Congratulations on the baby!!!!!
  20. WOW! I am bowing at your feet! I can't multi-quote to save my life. You are my hero!
  21. Y'all are so much nicer than I am. Years ago my husband used to sabotage my weight loss efforts. He knew ice cream was my downfall so I didn't want it in the house. He complained that he had a right to have it his house if he wanted. I politely told him, he absolutely could, if he wanted his "house" to be under his parents' roof. Well, we stopped bringing ice cream in the house. This time around, he rarely sabotages. He is proud of what I have accomplished, relishes in my new-found confidence, and he realizes my weight loss has greatly increased my health; and that is more important than keeping me fat.
  22. I was a tight 26/28 Now I am a 14/16
  23. Movies.... This is It 3/5 I think his concert would've been something really great to see, although I wouldn't have gone, but the movie, not so much. Paranormal Activity 3/5 didn't scare me, but kept my daughter's friend that went with us up all night. Couple's Retreat: 2/5 been there done that movie. wouldn't pay to see it again so that explains the rating Zombieland: 4/5 I liked it, but I am not sure why. LOVED the sequence where he gives the rules for zombies.. Julie and Julia: 4/5 Liked it enough to buy it when it comes out on dvd Whip It 4/5: critics didn't like it, but I did. It was funny and entertaining. Besides, it's roller derby! Fame: 2/5 I was mad I spent my money watching this since I will have to buy it on dvd because my daughter is a dancer. If you liked the original Fame, you will be disappointed. There is no character development to speak of. I really didn't care what happened to them or what happened at the end of the movie.
  24. I bought the half-candy at Target and Walmart. I even bought chocolate because I am WEAK! BUT, I brought it to my teacher meeting today so others could eat it and get it out of my room. I also gave candy to my students, so I DID do some of what I was supposed to do with it. On the otherhand, I did consume 4 mini pb pumpkins at 90 calories each! I stand by my earlier statement. It is Satan's candy.
  25. Dang, I am getting a new post report daily from bigtom's post. What is up with that?
