  1. I have my surgery scheduled there and with him. But I'm reading some shady stories about this place. I went through 1-800-GET-THIN.
  2. Did u have to do a chest xray the day of your surgery? Where did u have your surgery? I have mine this Friday at Tri city medical region in hawaiian gardens. I'm scared something will come up to make them cancel ny surgery.
  3. Hi. I was curious to know how your surgery day went.
  4. 4 more days. So many tests to get to this point. And still have to pass 2 more. Grrrrr :/ but this friday will mark the beginning of a new life
  5. @zales126 - depending which provider u choose to do your surgery, you will prob have to wait until it kicks in. U need your insurance card and group number. There are a good 4-6 tests u must take before a request is submitted to your insurance.
  6. From wat I've observed on these boards, and from experience I feel that blue cross is the fastest and easiest as far as approval goes. U can call their customer service and get a verbal approval and they will give u a reference #. And with that in hand ur ready to book your surgery date. They make it that easy. I'm glad I have bcbs. They are awesome. Making dreams become reality one patient at a time.
  7. November 4th is the day for me. I just hope there are ni snags from now until that day. I'm beyond excited.
  8. @jennifer1 - u have really eased my worries. Cordovan- thx for the post. These are The words that help Me thru this roller coaster of emotions.
  9. I highly believe that may be an excuse. Blue cross anthem is super fast. They even assigned ne a case manager to b a mediator for me. So when my office lags it, she calls them to speed things up for me and she can fax them Watever they need. She told me once everything had been submitted to insurance, it takes 7-10 days for approval. She told me honestly it's really only 5 days tho.
  10. What kind of issues has Anyone had that were discovered in pre op tests, and were not allowed to have your surgery? I'm 2 weeks away and wondering about my low Iron levels and hypo thyroidism. I'm so worried I'll b turned down. Please anyone give me any kind if positive feedback
  11. Mine took a month and a half. That's because my surgeons r laggars and very disorganized. I been approved since early august and have been literally begging them to book my surgery. I finally begged enuf and got a November 4th surgery date. Blue cross on the other hand is awesome. In my opinion they want their obese group members to get this procedure.
  12. Was anyone turned away or not able ro have their surgery because of any unknown reason. Or is it just a few simple tests ?
  13. Did anyone have trouble getting their surgery date after the insurance approval. I'm a dr madan patient and the weight loss center people are ry dragging their feet. I have been approved since august and they haven't even called me to set up my pre op. I need some direction.
  14. Me too. Thanx for all the responses I got on this post. As you all know I'm just waiting for my surgery date. Hoping for it to be before thanksgiving.
  15. OMG!! Congratulations on ur outcome. PLZ keep me alongside of you on your journey. I'm right behind you and want to hear all the details. I'm so excited.
  16. Good luck. I hope u get TGE green light for your surgery. I have to wait til 2mro to talk to mine. Keep us posted w your outcome
  17. @lizzy~ thank you for your positive feedback to this post. It is what I wanted to hear and it makes sense. I thank you for putting forth an educated response. I haven't had any problem arise so far. I got approved 2 months after my 1st consultation and now I'm just waiting for a date. I'm almost there.
  18. @morichesdonna~ isn't it strange that something so important is not at all asked in the beginning? I wud really love to hear that u are cleared. PLZ keep me posted w ur results. I hav my 1st appointment w surgeon Wednesday and I'm going to find out if the MRSA is going to keep me from going forward on this journey. Which is more Like a freegin emotional roller coaster. Add me as a friend so we can Chat more about this. As I can tell some people r too touchy w this topic.
  19. I'm going to let my surgeon know in advance, I just hope that I can prevent having an outbreak before my surgery. I appreciate the advice and names of Rx that I will now ask my dr about. I'm hoping I can still hav my surgery.
  20. Ok so I shud prob go to the dr for preventive care. And advise my surgeon ahead of time. It's kinda strange how something that I now realize is very important. I was never asked this question out of all the millions of questions that are asked when first going into this. They make me gi through every test then at the end before surgery it is asked??? Hmmm. The mind boggles. But thank u for all who gave me information ( and criticism). Both are appreciated
  21. Will I b disqualified or rejected from ny surgery if I hav MRSA. I hav already been approved by my insurance but haven't scheduled my surgery or seen my surgeon.
