    iLAP (Imbricated Lap Band)

I am having this procedure done ..Im actually doing the dreaded 6 month diet for BC/BS.. I am so excited and I think that this procedure is really a great choice. Goodluck and I would say go for it if you have the opportunity..
  2. okay.... my doctor referred me for a sleep study because he said insurance would want him to. i have as you can see in my signature more than enough health issues for qualification but my doctor says it is a formality for insurance! what really burns me up is i have to take out my hair extensions which cost $$$ for something that's not necessary. they scheduled me to come in on the 21st...the same day i go for all my other appointments which is not bad but i have to be there trying to sleep in a strange place until 6:30 am... phew.. i feel a little better that's out can't talk to anyone else about this but my lapband family

    just need to vent!!!

Victoria...thanx girl but they felt down in my hair and said i would have to remove them. but since you mentioned anesthesia that is a good point! didn't think about that. again thanx for your support
  8. well as you can see in my signature i have enough health issues to be approved on the spot. i have bc/ bs and i am also required to do a 6 month diet so hang in there you are not alone..... I'm playing the run around game as well but it's better than paying out of pocket. Hey i figure i have dealt with these issues and weight this long really what is 6 more months. think positive and keep your head up. You will waste more time and energy trying to find away around the 6 MONTH diet than to go ahead and start it......GOOD LUCK

    THENEWME2012's Before and After Pics

    My Before & After Photos!
  14. Hello everyone... I have been reading on this site for the past month and finally decided to become a BANDIT I am 38yr old female, 5ft 4, 216 pds and most people tell me that I should not do the procedure because I am not big enough (in their eyes) well for me having the procedure will be more than just being vain about my size. I have and take medicine for daily: Psuedo Tumor Cerebrii, High Blood Pressure, sleep Apnea and Diabbetes..yea I know right????? so when my surgeon Dr. Touliatos looked over my medical records he laughed and asked me did I drink or smoke and I said no and he said well maybe you should start (lol) because you have everything else which is sad but true. My procedure will be done more for health reasons than anything but the added weight loss will surely be a plus!!!!!! I am an Lab employee at Trinity Medical Center of Excellence and I will have my procedure done there as well so I will have NO OUT OF POCKET COSTS which is great and my insurance is BC/BS. I will be in a familiar atmosphere with the doctors and nurses that I have known for years so I will feel safe. I have chosen to do the Lap Band w/ Plication and I am so excited because at Trinitry the doctors have been doing the Lap Band w/Plication for the last 8 months and the results have been awesome. So far Dr. T said he has only had to do a couple of fills so whatever he is doing seems to really work and alot of patients that was considering Gastric has chosen Lap Band w/Plication and the pounds are dropping!!!! I have to complete a 6 month diet which sucks because if not for that I would be having my procedure in a couple of weeks but Im gonna have to wait this thing out which right now seems impossible. I really love this site and I enjoy reading posts from everyone and getting all the helpful tips and advice. I just wanted to say hi to everyone and goodluck! TheNewMe2012

    Anticipationi

CONGRADULATIONS!!!!! on your up coming procedure.. I wish you all the luck in the world and I can only the imagine the waiting now possibly seems like the clock has stoppped I wish you much success
  16. Well I have BC/BS of Alabama and although my paperwork has not been submitted because I have to do a 6 month diet, Dr. T said it would only take a couple of days and he would have me a surgery date!!! Now if I could just get through these 6 months of anticipation.
  17. Well Im new at this but I am a parent who has teenagers and if my 16 yr old wanted it and it was for health reasons I would support them 150%..Now with that said I do not think that you should be worried about if the surgery would do you any harm. Im sure that your parents will make sure that they find a true professional. Goodluck baby I wish you all the "good Health in the world'

    Plication?

Bromo, thanx for yor support and yes both of them Dr.T and Pennington are the nicest guys...well trained and professional. Im actually kinda glad that I am an employee at Trinity because I would have probably gone elsewhere for the procedure. A friend of mine had hers at Medical Center East but it was just the Lap Band and she was stunned at the amount of information that I was given with Dr. T. in only the first visit..... The binder??? must we say the binder again is awesome also the out of pocket costs are not bad at all.... I have been doing alot of reading & alot of people have to go to many classes, long psych evaluations etc.... I have all of mine scheduled for one day Oct 21st I will see the Nutrionalist at 1pm Pysch at 2pm and Fitness at 3 Im so looking forward to having the plication and the wait of these 6 months is hard already. Im glad that I have met someone that has already been through the same procedure and at the same facility so I can ask questions I look forward to meeting you as well..keep up the good work and thanx again for your support!!!!!!

    Advice please..Supervised Diet

I felt the same way when they told me "not to loose weight on a diet" but I guess inorder for insurance to pay we have to follow their rules I feel the same way and the waiting game is really difficult...especially considering I just started the waiting process.... Hang in there... I have faith that it will be all worth it in the end!

    Plication?

Hello, Im new here but this topic peaked my interest because I am having the Lap Band w/Plication. I agree that there are risks to any procedure that is surgically done but the choice of what procedure should still be left to the patient. I dont think that the doctor should choose the option for the patient and that the patient should familiarize themself with not only the pro's and con's of this procedure but with any. I am excited about the procedure personally and the fact that I researched and decided to choose this procedure leaves me no doubts.
