  1. Anybody here from South Texas?? Brownsville, Harlingen, Mcallen area??
  2. Thanks! But just be mentally prepared for it is all I can say. Start taking biotic as of now. I made the mistake of not doing that. I started using Nixon last week so I'm hoping that will help grow it back soon.its mentally traumatic, for me at least, but I still don't regret the surgery. But I hope this stops soon. My hair started fAlling out a month ago already. I would actually like it if it maybe even slowed down Thanks everyone for listening!
  3. I know it's been talked about here A lot but I'm freaking out about my hair loss!! I cry every time I shower and see the chunks of hair that fall out. I've been taking my 60-80 gems of protein a day, my vitamins and everything the dr told me but it didn't help I had my surgery in January and I knew this was going to happen and I thought I was prepared to handle it, but I'm taking it hard. I know all the reasons this happens and all that but I just need to vent. I feel like I'm going bald!! Sorry if some of u get annoyed by this post but I really needed to vent! Thanks to those who took the time to read this.
  4. Hello friends, Can anyone tells me the difference ($) between the basic and standard versions of federal bcbs when it comes to getting this surgery?? I'm thinking of switching to Basic for next year. thanks, Melissa

    January 2012 Sleevers!

I haven't even walked into a clothing store to loom for clothes for me. I'm actually fitting into my old clothes. I don't think I can even start looking for new clothes without feeling overwhelmed as well. Its scary... And I haven't even tried drinking a diet coke! I'm scared to! But I'm dying for a diet dr. pepper! Its the little things in life I miss. Sometimes I feel depressed, then happy, then mad.... Talk about mood swings! Lol

  9. My face is completely dry! Its flaky and rough! Has anyone ever experienced this after surgery? I put on moisturizer all the time and it doesn't help. Does anyone know what's going on?
  10. I'm gonna go get those Chrystal light things tomorrow and try them out. And peanut butter... I LOVE it, so I'm gona start eating more of it. Thanks everyone for the advise! I was afraid it was dehydration :-(
  11. Besides drinking more water, is there anything else I can do? I've been drinking g2 since I got out of surgery but I guess its not working :-(
  12. I'm trying to drink as much liquid as I can but I don't think I'm drinking as much as I'm suppose to. :-( I'm only about a month and a half out and I find water disgusting now. Before the surgery I use to drink water like nothing and now... Ugh! What moisturizer do u recommend?
  13. Ok, I tried these but only for about 3 weeks. I couldn't stand the taste! Its a good way to get ur protein in but after a while, you get tired of the gross taste. I started gagging after a while and got to the point where when I looked at one and was about to open it, I started gagging and cringing right away! Ewww! I'm going back to protein shakes. At least they taste better than the protein shots. And do remember that ur body can only absorb 25 to 30 grams at a time. don't buy them in bulk until you are sure you can handle the taste.
  14. Ok, so I've Ben M.I.A. From the forum for a couple of Weeks cuz of work and Ive been at a training facility since Monday until today. I'm one month out if surgery and I haven't been able to eat anything for the passed 3 days! I don't know if its because the food I ate from the kitchen here or what's going on with me but everything I swallow, even in the morning or on an empty stomach, it hurts going down! I called my Dr and he said that it might have been the food from the cafeteria since I don't know what they made or cooked it with. Maybe it had too much fat even of I didn't mean to eat it. I ate very healthy, fish, fruit, chicken breast, etc. That was Monday and Tuesday, but Wednesday, my esophagus and stomach just started hurting even with water! It hurts going down! I have an Appointment with my Dr on Tuesday but has anyone fine through this? Dr told me to just stick to liquids til I see him but I'm really freaking out! I can't eat anything!

    Exercise Poll

I have to admit that i have been sleeve for 3 weeks now and i haven't gotten the energy to even start walking much less excersise. Is there something wrong with me? Not to mention that the weather has been crazy ugly outside and i don't have any work out equipment at home. i do get up at work and walk around every two hours, but i don't think that's what the doctor was talking about when he said i needed to work out. I feel so ashamed. Also, i drive and hour to work and then an hour back so by the time i get home it's about 6 or 7 in the evening and i'm completely exhausted. I feel so guilty!!! Anyone have any advice?

I think it is. Search for 3 week stall and there are a few discussions on it. And yes, it really sucks! :-(

    January 2012 Sleevers!

em, I'm on the exact same phase you're in!!! i've lost 21 lbs and i've also been stalled since Wednesday!! I feel so crappy right now!! I think from what i've read on this, this is the dreaded 3 week stall. plus, i just finished AF and i'm hoping i start losing again. i'm still on mushy and soft foods and i start on regular foods on wednesday. i can barely get 700 calories in. I don't know how to get out of it. i've been losing a pound a day since the surgery and then last wednesday/Thursday i stopped. I've been losing a pound and gaining a pound everyday. kind of like bouncing back and forth between 200 and 201. it sucks!!!
  21. Okay ladies, I'm exactly 2 weeks out of surgery and i'm trying to weigh myself at least 3 times a week. I got my period about 2 days ago but it's very light for now. I weighed myself this morning and I've gained 2 lbs!!! The same rules still apply, right? I'm talking about the weight we gain while we are on it due to bloating and Water retention. I just feel like crap cuz it's only been 2 weeks and i gained!!! I know you probably think i'm being dumb, but i really do feel discouraged. melissa
  22. I got mine almost 2 weeks out of surgery. But since your body is going through so many changes, you need to give it time.
  23. Thanks everyone for your feedback and support!! i really, really, really appreciate it! being on an emotional roller coaster cuz of PMS while just out of surgery is probably one of the worst things ever!!! again, thank you!!!!
