Congrats!!!!! I got my approval today as well!!! My surgery is scheduled for the 18th!!! I'm soooo happy for you!!!

I'M SOOOO EXCITED, THAT I'M TYPING IN CAPITAL LETTERS AND I KNOW HOW Y'ALL FEEL NOW!!!! I'M APPROVED!!! I JUST GOT THE INSURANCE TO FAX ME A COPY OF THE APPROVAL LETTER AND MY SURGERY IS A GO FOR JANUARY 16TH!!! YAAAAAY!!!!!! I'M SOOOO EXCITED!!!!

I'm "tentatively" scheduled for January 18th!!!! I just called my insurance and they said that the notes on the case stated "everything meets the criteria" so God willing they will be sending out my approval letter VERY soon!! PLEASE keep your fingers and toes crossed for me that everything goes by smoothly and QUICKLY!! I can't wait to be sleeved in January!!!!!

Peacequeen, You are right!! I would rather have everything right the first time. And I'm already starting to look into what i'm going to wear and where i'm going to go and who i'm going to see!!! lol And thanks for the list!!! I'm going to check those sites out today! I know it's a fortune... all the stuff we have to spend on, but it's worth it in the end, right?

Coastal, I'm sorry your insurance doesn't cover it. are you sure it doesn't?? Does it depend on your job?

Catracks, W.O.W.!!! that's a lot of stuff!! i mean ALOT!!! But oh well!!! We gotta do what we gotta do. And about your paper situation, that really sucks!! That's 2 weeks gone to waste! I can't imagine how mad you were! Hadouni, I really hope that the approval process goes by quick for me, too! I've never been so impatient in my life!! I think i'm done with all my pcp tests so all I need are my surgeon's test, but that won't happen til after i'm approved (God willing).

I've called my insurance, my coordinator and my doctor's office and they can never give me a straight answer! it's so frustrating and i wanted to cry! I just wanted an estimate of what i was gonna pay cuz i need to budget myself and no one would help. I should have known that y'all would have the answer! thank you!!!

I know i have to distract myself with something and I will, but sometimes... well most of the time, this is all I can think about !! LOL!! The sad part is that 8 out 10 people in my doctor's office has had the surgery and they know how I feel, but they aren't helping me out!!! I just wanna them to send the damn paperwork!!! But i'm already starting to research what I need prior and after surgery (food wise). What have you bought? what protien shakes do you recommend?

Anyone have Basic BCBS Federal?? if so what did you have to pay for the surgery??

So I just called the insurance and the nice lady told me that if it's a class that is required and if it's held at the hospital, it covered by my insurance. I have federal BCBS. she said the insurance covers all Diabetic and Nutritional counceling. Now i'm going to call the doctor's office back and ask what and where this class is taking place... I'm getting a little bit upset now... :-/ Former, Ex, and Wheetsin, THANK YOU for the input!!!!

Well i still don't know what all consists after the class is done, i.e. support group, classes, trainer and dietician. But if it does, I'm going to love it! I guess I'll just have to wait and see! Have you tried asking if there is anything like that you can take?

Okay, so as some of you know, last week I posted that my coordinator had sent in the paper on Friday... last Friday... the 9th and today I called the insurance and they just told me they haven't recieved anything yet!!! WTH!!! So i call my doctor's office and the coordinator says that they have been extremely busy and hasn't faxed over my packet yet!! I was so annoyed!! I know they are busy sometimes, but i hate it when people give me false hopes she said she was going to try and send it as soon as she got off the phone with me and then call me back. fyi: she hasn't yet... I want to cry!!! i wanted to start buggin the insurance already!!! lol *deep breath* sorry, i just had to vent for a bit...

former_vbg, Thanks!! I'm gonna get on that sight right now! And the doctor isn't the problem, its the Nut and psych, but since they both cleared me already, I don't have to see them again. I just hope the it's a different Nut who gives the class.
