  1. I don't really have an answer for you except it could not hurt to talk with your Dr. I saw them in a segment on Dr. Oz, & he was talking to folks that found themselves munching all day. I thought I fit the bill so I tried them out. Love Love Love them.
  2. I just follow the package directions, which is 1 tbs.
  3. You mix them with and let them sit, that is when you eat them, after they have expanded. They don't expand anymore once they are in your tummy. Im in love with them. I find they help me control my appetite. I get my fluids in with no problem, I don't mix it in my water just my shakes and yogurt.
  4. I have never tried Flax Seeds so I cant compare. Now I am over a year out from surgery, in fact it will be 2 yrs for me in Dec. I cant say how far you should try, that's something I have no suggestions on. You should ask surgeon. With the seeds I mix them in my yogurt or shake and let it sit so the seeds absorb the liquid. They expand to like 10x their original size. They are soft with a crunch in the center. I tell people it has the texture of tapioca pudding with the bubbles in it. However these seeds are tasteless, they pick up the taste of whatever food or drink you mix them with.
  5. I went over to GNC and picked up two bags, they have a buy 1 get 1 for half off special going on right now, so I was happy with the price. I am loving them. I sipped on my protein shake/seed mix after my workout yesterday that was around 5pm,& I could not eat anything else for the rest of the night. And that is great bc I didn't undo my whole day. Got up this morning and had lost 2.8lbs so I feel like a rockstar who is motivated to go the extra mile at the gym today. LOL my new saying is Yay Sleeve&Seeds!!!
  6. I stopped going to the gym and eating right, before Thanksgiving. And I just started getting back on track this week. It took a while but I was not eating correctly & also not working out. I didnt even jump on the scale.
  7. I am actually not at goal numbers-wise I guess I should say. My clothes goal was a single digit size. My goal numbers wise I dont know, still don't know. I started at 298lbs, was sleeved 12-14-2010. Lowest weight 171lb but with my turning a blind eye and grazing on horrible food& did I mention I hadnt seen the gym in ages I managed to go back to 190lb. Well I stopped fooling myself and purchased these seeds, eating right& kicked my own butt at the gym so I am down 1lb in 1 day. Thank God I have my sleeve to help or I would consider it a lost cause and just accept the weight with open arms or should I say open mouth, lol. Thank u guys for listening. It always encourages me to pick myself up and get back on the wagon.
  8. Ok so I am over a year out, & I have seen/not seen (turning a blind eye) that I can eat way more than when I first had surgery. Well I was watching my fav dr, Dr Oz, and he was raving about these things called Chia Seeds. He said they did wonderful things like fill you up and keep you full longer. They are filled with wonderful omega's, Protein, & Fiber. I was like hmmm really... Well I went to my little health food store and purchased some. I tried them & I honestly feel like I just had my surgery (quanity wise). I can not eat much at all. I am talking like within weeks of surgery, when my tummy was swollen and 2-3 spoons of runny mashed potatoes filled me up. And I can not go back later and try eating more(grazing) as the chia seeds stick with you. Ok is this stuff for real? I am in love so far. I have even started working back out again. If it is just all in my mind maybe it does not matter since it is getting me motivated and up and moving again, fighting the good fight, you know?
  9. Omg, I have had this conversation with my hubby several times, I thought I was just trippin. I have noticed people, men especially seemingly breaking their necks to be nice or help me. At my job I am an office coordinator, I have to pretty much do everything. One day I am unloading supplies onto a dolly and getting ready to pull/push it into the bldg. Mind you I have done this same task countless times as a big girl and nobody moved a eyelash to help me, not even to hold the door. Well fast forward 1yr/127lb loss and I am doing the same task & co-worker & supervisor of the dept are both at my truck unloading supplies&pushing the dolly into the bldg for me, I actually had to tell them I could take it from here. Now this type of thing has been happening alot, I would be flattered/unfazed had it happened before my hefty weight lost. I was the same woman I am today, very independent & fabulous darling. The confidence was not/is not a question. I know my self worth as a woman&child of God. This prejudice type of behavior rubs me wrong bc I feel like if you wasn't checking for me when I was 200+lbs please dont try me now. I am in love with the person who loved me all of me when I was 298lbs. He loved me then&still does now.
  10. Wow talk about a transformation...you look great&i like the dress.
  11. Thanks sooo much. I had them on under my bridesmaid dress! Lol!!! thank goodness it was long. I have a shoe problem and now that I can wear them comfortably for hours I have become a buying maniac. I sneak them in the house. LOL. Oh and hubby is happier now that I am happier. Have fun you guys.
  12. Thanks, I have lost 127lbs, could be more if I got up&hauled my booty to the gym lol, I gotta get back in the swing of things, workout wise I mean.
  13. Thank you so much....I am beyond happy!!! I love the new me & all the changes.
  14. Thank you guys so much....I feel amazing, blessed,&full of life. Doing it all with an amazing amazing man by my side....Oh side note I think the ladies will understand-> I was able to rock those shoes from 3pm thru 11pm...entire wedding & reception...Go Sleeve Go!!!!
  15. I was in a wedding this weekend, I had a blast and I felt great. I just wanted to post some pics from the event of me in my regular sizebridesmaid dress that did not need any alterations & was ordered a size smaller months before the wedding. I also have some once changed into my LBD and started getting loose with my (short, just cuz of the heels) hubby...Hope you all are enjoying the wonderful new life with ya sleeve cause I sure am, as I am sure you will be able to tell by my Charlie Angel (kinda) picture....LOL...enjoy your life you guys.
  16. WOOOW!!!!!!!!!!!! You look fan-freaking-tastic!!! You should feel so proud, blessed, & happy. I imagine you doing a Naomi pose and strut. LOL!! enjoy every moment.
  17. OMG!!! I have a new problem. I have become a shoe-slure. I bought 7 pairs in one night. Now in my defense, (that is how I justify it in my head) they were all on sale. I did not spend too much. But turn around and 2 weeks later I bought 3 more. LOL I told my husband, "Look I know I have a problem, you don't need to stage an intervention with meetings and cameras to make me admit that I have a problem. I know this already and that is the first step to getting better......right?" And besides seeing how fab I look in new shoes motivates me to keep going towards my goal. (At least that's how I rationalize it in my head.)
  18. That is how I know my TOM is coming. I start to have super cravings, for sugar and carbs. I feel like I can inhale the entire fridge. LOL. It does go back to normal once it has passed. But yea I can eat more. Very weird.
  19. Me and DH started the P90X series. We did not finish, like the above poster said, it is very time consuming & serious. You have to be ready b/c the guy goes hard. It does work though. I notice a difference after 2weeks.
  20. Yes. Lol Still adjusting to 2012. I did correct.
  21. Ok so for me: Sleeved Dec' 2010. Lost 127lbs since sleeve date.
  22. Isn't that amazing. I think about it all the time, I have lost both my kids in weight, plus someone else's child. Or I have lost a regular size adult. I find it mind boggling that I carried 2 people around on my body. My joints, back, heart, muscles all must be ever so grateful to be free of such a huge weight.
