  1. I am soo excited and soooo nervous! Tomorrow will be the 1st day to the rest of my life and I can't wait for this journey to begin. Check in at the hospital is at 830 with surgery scheduled at 11. I am most nervous about the gas afterward but Dr gave me the OK to use the Gas X strips, hopefully that will lighten the load! :wink1: Here's to the new me!
  2. 24 hour pre-op for me. I have surgery on Monday. My surg tech told me 2 days clear liquid, but my surgeon told me that i could start it on Sunday. So that is what I will do. I ate light today (soups and sandwiches, had a couple cookies with the kids after decorating the tree) and will be ready for liquids tomorrow!
  3. Thanks iegal! I am really excited! @illgeturhairdid: I will be thinkin of you! Good luck!
  4. I has my pre-op with my surgeon this morning. All is a GO for MONDAY!! I am sooo excited and SOOOO scared at the same time. I just want it to be DONE ALREADY!! I am not to worried abot the post op or anything t here after, it's just the surgery itself. I have never gone "under" and I am a little intimidated. Had my "last meal" with the DH at Pizza Rock tonight....I'M READY!! No looking back. BRING IT ON! :cheer2:
  5. Had my pre-op class today, got pre-registered at the hospital yesterday and my pre-op with my surgeon is tomorrow. I start my clear liquid diet on Saturday. Whew. Wow. I can't believe this is really going to happen! I am so anxious, nervous, excited, and scared all at the same time! DH and I will be going out for my "last meal" tomorrow night. wow. wow. This is it.....almost there!
  6. Feeling much better today. I loaded up on Vit C and Zinc and my cold lasted only 2 days! A little tickle in my throat causing me to cough, but at least it is a dry cough. Surgery in 7 days!! :ihih: I am anxious and want it done NOW! I don't want a stupid little cold to get in my way!
  7. @Sleeve 4 me: You haven't?!! You look so small and tight in your photos. You go girl!! I thought you did already! I would do it in a heart beat. I can't wait until I have to face that decision!
  8. My surg date is Dec 5. I felt a cold coming on a few days ago, so I started using Zycam to try to nip it, but today my nose is starting to run and a little stuffy. I AM FREAKING OUT!! :incazzato: I don't want to reschedule. Anyone have the same problem?
  9. I have a cold and my surgery is 10 days away!! I am freaking out! I am glad that you were still able to have your surgery, I really hope I will have mine on schedule. Trying to do research online, but this was all I've found on the subject. I am blasting myself with vitamin C and Zycam tablets to hopefully push it thru.
  10. My surg date is Dec 5. I feel a cold coming and I have been blasting myself with Zycam. Can I still have my surg if I have a head cold? No real symptoms yet other than the "tickle" in my throat. I really hope I catch this bug in time. :banghead:
  11. I could not imagine cancelling this gift!!! I am scheduled for Dec 5 and it can't get here fast enough! I have been fat and miserable too damn long. I will not spend another year trapped inside this body. I have tried EVERYTHING only to loose 40# and gain 50 back. I will not be on the yo-yo anymore. I am looking forward to my new life. I am scared of going under, I have never had surgery before. I trust my Dr and his team. I have heard about the woman that says she was fully aware of everything during her surgery, (It wasn't WLS, but thatis besides the point) I have heard from several Drs, including the 2 I work for, that it is not likely that happened. She may have been in a vivid dream state, but the Drs have you so sedated that you will not feel or remember anything. Don't let your temporary anxiety ruin your chance at a healthy life.
  12. I don't know if you have an *** or PPO. If ***, DEMAND that your pcp refer you to the bariatric specialist you chose and have the specialist jump thru the hoops for you. They know more about it than your PCP does. If PPO, self refer!!!
  13. I will be starting a YouTube journal "less0fleslie" next week. I just got my paperwork from my doc today and my pre-op diet is 1100 calories for 2 weeks and clear liquids 48 hrs before surgery. Not too shabby!
  14. Good for you!! sounds like you are coming right along. Thanks for the post, I know alot of us waiting to be sleeved are anxious and nervous. it's nice to hear you did so well.
  15. I am so excited, I am beside my self. I am like a kid waiting for Santa to come. I saw my reflection today, normally I am just mad and disgusted with what is looking back at me, but not today! Today I saw myself and just thought "eh, won't be long". I have this new pep in my step and positive outlook on what is to come. I can't wait to finally be ME, not me in this fat suit, but really, truly, Me. Dec 5 can't come fast enough!
  16. Dec 5!! Dr. Stephen Patching Sacramento, CA . I see Dr. Patching on Nov 22, I am pretty sure he will start me on pre-op diet day after Thanksgiving. I am soo excited and ANXIOUS! I just want it DONE ALREADY! Patience is not my strong suit. :ballchain:
  17. Congrats! Wishing you all the luck!
  18. Congrats! I was just approved last week and got my date for Dec 5..I am counting the seconds until then..Anxious and anxious!! Congrats!! I hope all goes well. :cornut:
  19. Edit your profile and paste the code in your SIGNATURE box. HTH!
  20. Yes, I am a Coke addict. That sounds awful! LOL. Why do I have to give up carbonated drinks?! I am really struggling with that. I enjoy eating healthy. Excersise? NO PROBLEM! But my Coke?! NOOOOOO!!!!!! Can anyone give me any insight?
  21. My insurance experience was great. They required 3 consecutive visits and 5 yrs documented weight history. Insurance was submitted on Monday and I called on wednesday and was already approved! my surg date is Dec 5. Good Luck!
  22. WOW! I didn't expect the outpouring of support with this topic! i thought I was just being a little silly for not telling people. I am glad to know that I am not the only one that has struggled with the decision on wether to tell or not to tell. I am also very touched by all the support from everyone here. I am so excited to have the surgery in December, and I just may shout it from the mountain tops (so noone can hear me in the city! LOL!! I keed, i keed!! :biggrinjester: ) that I am sleeved and I am PROUD to have made the best decision in my life!
  23. So, I am of course hiding that I will be having my VSG in December (hopefully..fingers crossed). My mom knows, of course my husband and best friend know, other than that, no one else. I have brought it up to others and they just act shocked and appauled. What is the deal with being ashamed of this? I feel like people look at it like we are taking the "lazy way or easy way out". I am SO EXCITED to have this surgery and move on with my life. I want others to be excited too, but instead it is looked down on and ridiculed. Any others going thru this? How are you dealing, or are you in hiding with it too? All of a sudden I will be losing all this weight...will I have to BS and just owe it all to " diet excersise and lots of water!" ? Or do I say "yes, I had WLS and I am proud of it!" ?
