I have not been heavy my entire life. In my teens and early 20s I had a great body and was about 110 to 115 pounds. Unfortunately I did not appreciate what I had and covered up at all cost!

When I met my husband, we used to go out to eat a lot and we would go out dancing and partying. So there was a lot of eating and a lot of drinking. Then once we got comfy, there were lots of lazy movie nights. So between the eating and lack of exercise, the weight just started to pile on.

When I got married in 1996 I was approximately 125 pounds. When I became pregnant with my son in 1997 I was approximately 140 pounds. I gained about 80 pounds during that pregnancy and only lost maybe 60 of it. When I became pregnant with my daughter in 2004, I was approximately 165 pounds. I probably gained 100 pounds with her and lost maybe 40 pounds of that weight. So at 225 pounds I joined WW. Although it is a great program, I never can stick with anything.

So I started researching the sleeve in September of 2011. It took me a year to get the nerve up to really be serious. I started going to all of my appointments starting in September and finished in December and got my surgery date of January 28th.

Stay tuned to how it's going....
