  1. Sooo today, I was getting ready for school, just minding my own business when boom it hit me....Staring in the mirror looking at my hairline I started to notice that I can see MUCH more of my scalp in between hairs than I remember. freaking out a little I started parting my hair and combing and seeing how much of my scalp i could see here and there....And what do you know...I DO have thinner hair. But wait! This can't be! I HAVENT EVEN HAD SURGERY OR LOST THE FIRST POUND YET! What is horrible about it, is I have actually lost my hair twice before ( I am a hair stylist, It is what we do LOL) But for some reason watching it go over time like I might have to, DOES make me a little sad. So when I got home I started googling, and behold maybe an answer? I have hypothyroidism, which APPARENTLY cause hairloss but I havent been taking my meds = [. My pcp is being a bitch and wont write me another script for my meds until I come in again (I dont have insurance)...WELL I am 10 days from surgery too... I WAS planning a visit for about a month after surgery but at this rate I feel like I might be bald by then. I am actually a little scared! I havent been scared this WHOLE time about any of it.. Only excited, but now I am feeling just blahhh = [ Sorry this post is not really about anything...I am just freaking out a little
  2. I currently take 10,000 Mcg's Of Biotin a day for my hair, I have been more about 3 months....Just hoping it helps later. I havent bought my good Vitamins yet, I WILL be taking twinlab Daily Ones, because I wont need them for like the first two weeks because I will be on chewables anyway. Also I started a vlog on Youtube about a week ago to document all the stuff I am doing before, during, and after. You guys can watch all of my useless info I spew at: YouTube - MyChunkyChannel's Channel
  3. mine is just a liquid diet 3 day prior..Nothing too horrible...but just enough to make me wish I didnt have one lol...
  4. Honestly I really think that drinking while eating is how I take in such a gigantic volume of food when I sit down. This is one of the only things I am scared of after surgery. I can drink a whole 32 oz coke, or water or whatever, just while I am eating ONE meal. I am VERY worried about this aspect of recovery....I will have to just keep my drinks in the fridge and then go to my room to eat or something....Hope I can break it too...Best of luck = D
  5. Uhhh for a while I couldn't find the Carb Control Dannon in my walmart...WELL magically it popped up and it is carb and sugar control...has it always been this way, I dont know, but what i do know is, IT IS SO GOOD, and with only 3 carbs and 50 cals I am sold...I hope my taste dont change too much cause I love this stuff...:cursing:
  6. @tiffy......OH so that's where you were at...Going on Vaca without me.....I knew I felt my twin senses tingling!
  7. 4/20 here!! BUT I fly out on the 19th = D
  8. Does anyone actually use a FORUM, full of people's opinions, to make their sugery decisions? Like REALLY? I doubt it. And honestly, if this website is ALL that someone would take into consideration when choosing a surgeon, then I must say, I FEEL that isnt very bright idea. Shit happens, in America, In Mexico, at my house, at your house....EVERYWHERE.
  9. Lol I am not married but my whole family sounds a lot like this. Honestly there really inst any talking to them about it either, because they just DONT get it. They dont understand why we just dont put down the cheeseburger, Or get off our ass and run marathons. I am having my surgery in two weeks. I am super excited. I talk to people her about it because they are excited and supportive. I do not talk to my family about it because they have comments like that to make. BUT they do have the understanding that whatever I do they are required to be supportive...I mean my sisters do stupid shit all the time that i disagree with...Do i tell them i think it is totally stupid, YES. If i cant change their minds with logic, then i STILL have to support them. I mean that is just how it is, that IS family. We just have this unwritten agreement at this point that , my mind is made up, and I am doing it., and unless you have something PRODUCTIVE to say, keep your f'n mouth shut.
  10. Yeah I just read the back of tums, and then the back of the caltrate....uhh they are mostly the same thing Except tums actually says it has more calcium in it than the way more expensive caltrate...Tums= 800 mgs in 2 /Caltrate= 600 mg in 2....wow the things you learn...
  11. And I put it here for a reason, I feel like hardly anyone looks at the protein and supplement links = [..I accidentally, because I was not paying attention, just bought the first calcium I found. It was Caltrate. Well Now that I read the back of it I discovered that it is calcium carbonate, which I don't know why but i feel like i am not supposed to take after surgery. Can someone tell me why? I AM taking them back tomorrow to get calcium citrate, so no big deal...BUT I also bought tums, which I had NO IDEA but they are also calcium carbonate..Can I take those after surgery?
  12. Honestly I talk to him everyday and told him I wasnt going a while ago. But now I want to go, so I changed my mind...IT really is like super motivation when you know you have somewhere to be in front of someone you like. I AM pretty sure I wont be naked and body painted...we are just friends...so maybe it will be awesome and he will fall in love...Or maybe he wont and ill find a bf while I am down there lol. The one thing I do VERY well is keep my options open.
  13. Yeah you are right... I guess I am not looking for the "Best" just an idea about it.
  14. I stopped looking for things with the highest protein content and instead started looking for things that I could mix into anything. The reason being is that I KEEP hearing that your stomach will only absorb about 20 gr of protein in on sitting. Id like to be able to mix protein in my iced tea and throw some raspberry sf syrup in it, or something of that nature. you know so no matter what I am taking in I can put protein in it so I am safe.
  15. What is the BEST unflavored protein mix??
  16. OK so I have asked this in the middle of a thread before but I still CANT wrap my head around it. Absorption. I have asked about how our stomachs absorb protein after surgery. I got the response, that our stomachs will only absorb about 20 gr of protein in one sitting. If this is true why do I keep seeing postings for like 30/40 gram protein mixes? Does no one know this info, or is it not true or what? I totally believe the person that told me this, I am not saying that he/she was wrong(sorry cant remember who said it) I am just saying that if this is true then I really think it should be shouted from building tops because all I keep hearing about are, " I found this 30 gr protein shake, and I'll drink two and that will be my protein for the day." IF the 20 gr absorption thing is TRUE then people ARENT actually getting what they think they are getting, that is important to know! HELP!
  17. OH! We have a Publix!...I googled that milk and it said that it was only sold in New England...Lies!...
  18. I dont think I can get that milk here and I am so MAD about it. It looks and sounds amazing!
  19. LOL I wish I could clarify...I have no idea what it is supposed to feel like but I have heard after surgery that people complain that they have a "hungry" feeling. In response to that lots of people say you should be taking an acid reducer because it getts rid of that feeling because you aren't really hungry, it is just the acid in your stomach..Probably acid indigestion.
  20. Ok soooo as I am getting closer to surgery (YAY) and I have started stocking up on things that I will need. Not protein powders because I know my taste will change BUT I have been getting vitamins lately. My question now is about acid reducers. I have never had a real issue in my whole life where I have had to take one. On the other hand I have read that a lot of people's answer to hunger pains after surgery is an acid reducer (because people are confusing the feelings of hunger and acid)..SOOO should I or shouldn't I? and do I just get like an over the counter Prilosec, or do I need a real script? And is it a once a day thing?
  21. Well I found a camcorder today..BUT now we are not sure if it will last that long as the surgery because it is a mini-dvd camcorder. They were saying something like the longest mini dvd-r you can buy are only 30 mins. Since I am going alone, i'll be knocked out during surgery (duh) and wont be able to switch over to a new dvd when it gets full. I cant afford to fly you out either, but thanks anyway, you are sooo sweet = ] Dr. Betancourt says he totally doesnt mind that I am doing this, but he also says I have to do it on my own, he said there wouldnt really be anyone around to help, unless I brought someone or used a tripod with a camera that will last long enough.
  22. Yep just realized I have been spelling his name wrong this whole time lol.
  23. I fly to San Diego April 19th, and my Surgery date is the next day.. the 20th.
  24. Ok so I have posted this once before a long while ago and now that it is closer to surgery, I think it will be more appropriate. I have plans to film my surgery. Like ACTUALLY film it.I have ok'ed it with my surgeon and everything. I received a digital camera for my birthday that I thought would do the trick but I am just a little scared that it wont..it only seems to want to film for like 115 mins total and that is on a FULL battery. I had planned on doing videos all the way down there and everything, so surely I won't have the space or battery life. SO I have asked once before if anyone would be interested in helping me film it. Now the question has changed to more of does anyone have a camcorder? OR is anyone going to BE at Jerusalem during my surgery that I may just borrow yours for my quick surgery. Heck I am not shy you can film it yourself as far as I am concerned. This is just VERY important to me and my Vlog and I REALLY need help with it. IF ANYONE HAS ANY IDEAS or anything please let me know. I was going t o just borrow someone camcorder, but the only two people I know who have one will be on vaca with theirs when I go to MX. THANKS SO MUCH! I know with ya'll help I will come up with something!
  25. Actually, I was just freaking out about that today!...I don't have someone to do it, but Dr. Belancourt said I could use a tripod, and that wouldnt be a big deal. Well I just bought my digital camera thinking it could possibly film it, but I dont think it can stay on long enough to do it! = [ I need someone's camcorder and the only two relatives I know that have one can't let me use them bc they will be on vacation the same time I am in MX...so yea, freaking out!
