Waiting!
I have BCBS Kansas. Submitted 1/17, approved 1/19, surgery 2/20. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Decreased Restriction After Vomiting
I wouldn't be so much worried about your port being flipped, but about if the band is leaking or it slipped (common when someone vomits a lot). You really should see your doctor as soon as possible.

What Is Your Signal?
Nope, I am only a week and a half banded and no fill. Thanks for sharing everyone! : )

Insurance Question
Wow, I totally forgot I had even made this thread. Well, my insurance did cover it (all but my 500 dollar deductible) and here I am almost 2 weeks post op and feeling great, down 13 pounds!

The Beginning Of The Rest Of My Life!
It's weird to think that just 3 weeks ago I was still on pre op! I am a week and 2 days post op. I went for my appointment yesterday and I have lost ten pounds since my surgery so I'm pretty happy about that and I'm pretty much pain free at this point! So glad I did it!

What Is Your Signal?
My doctor said that most people get a "full" signal, other than the actual feeling of being full. I do get that, but I have found that when I am full I also hiccup for about two minutes. It's weird! What about you guys?

How Long Should I Expect This Pain To Last?
- Getting My Band In A Couple Of Weeks I'm Super Nervous!
Well if you are too young at 24 than I am way to young at 19! I was banded on Monday and I feel great! No worries! : )- Bruising?
Glad I'm not the only one! Thanks guys!- How Long Should I Expect This Pain To Last?
- Bruising?
I had my surgery on 2/20 and today I noticed that there is a bruise by each incision that was not there yesterday. Anyone else? Thoughts?- How Long Should I Expect This Pain To Last?
Great, thanks : )- How Long Should I Expect This Pain To Last?
Awesome, thanks! I got prescription pain meds so hopefully those will start helping soon!- How Long Should I Expect This Pain To Last?
I only just had surgery monday, but I was just wondering how long you guys had pain at your incisions and port site?- All Done! : )
- All Done! : )
I had my surgery at about 11am yesterday morning (was supposed to be at 9:15 but the doctor was running late). I had to stay the night but I just did barium swallow about an hour ago and now I have to wait until lunch so that they can make sure that I can eat and then I should get to go home! Thaks for the support everyone! And thank goodness I haven't felt much pain at all!- Tomorrow Is The Big Day!
Thanks everyone!- Tomorrow Is The Big Day!
Boy, time sure did fly! I submitted to insurance on 1/18 and was approved 1/20. Surgery is tomorrow at 9:15am! I have to stay the night because my doctor requires it, so what did you guys pack to make the time go faster? Books? Cards? Computer? Any advice on what to expect right before and right after surgery? I'm so excited!- I'm Sick And Tired Of...
These are all such "great" things, guys! I think that putting these out there is a great motivation for everyone to see what they want to change with the lapband. And I agree, kids are very honest! But sometimes it works out to be the best. My five year old cousin Macy is the sweetest little girl in the world. She loves to just climb up in your lap and say nice things to you. She tells me all the time "You are so smart. You are so beautiful. I just love you." It melts my heart! Kids are often such self esteem boosters! ; )- I'm Sick And Tired Of...
JustDoIt130 - Thanks for the tips for NSV's! I'm going to have to put that in my notebook that I started! Everyone is doing so great, it's so awesome to see how well you all are doing! : )- I'm Sick And Tired Of...
Wow, I didn't expect to get so many responses to this post! Everything you guys have said about the "sick and tired" is so true! I can't wait to be like some of you and say that these are things of the past. And yes, I am sort of in the KC area, I live about an hour away from KC in Ottawa. So excited for everyone!- I'm Sick And Tired Of...
Hey all! I am due to be banded on the 20th of this month (so excited! I'm 19, 5'9 and 340 pounds) and I am trying to get more involved in lapband communities such as this one as well as going to support group meetings. I thought that this would be a fun little topic for us to all share what we are "sick and tired" of when it comes to our weight/size. Even if it's just one thing, I'm sure we would all be interested in hearing what it is that you are excited to see change when you lose your weight! And those who have been banded, tell us newbie's what went away for you! ; ) - I'm sick and tired of having to ask for a seatbelt extension every time I travel on an airplane (often) - I'm sick and tired of not being able to steal my mom's cute clothes out of her closet because she is like a million sizes smaller - I'm sick and tired of people asking me why I eat too much - I'm sick and tired of wearing my pants over my fat and not at my waist where they belong - I'm sick and tired of not being able to wear pants with buttons anymore. Hello stretchy jeans... - I'm sick and tired of not being able to get a massage from our masseuse because I don't want to get (basically) naked - I'm sick and tired of dodging out or faking sick when it's time to take pictures/family pictures - I'm sick and tired of thinking about food all of the time. I need to break this hold that food has on me! - I'm sick and tired of not being able to work out like I want to because I can't do it for more than twenty minutes at a time - I'm sick and tired of being judged for how I look - I'm sick and tired of not being able to ride on most rides at World's of Fun because I can't buckle or fully secure the bar - I'm sick and tired of not having more cute clothes to choose from - I'm sick and tired of thinking that I might not be able to have kids because my biggest goal in live is to be a teacher and a mom And dang it, I'm sick and tired of all of this weight! I need help, so I went off and dove into the great unknown of WLS, hoping for the best. My AMAZING insurance (BCBS of Kansas) covers all but my deductible for the year, so I am thankful for that. But who would have thought that ten months after I first questioned my doctor about the surgery that I would have a scheduled date. Not me! My insurance approved me on a Thursday when I sent for it on TUESDAY! Two days! But anyways, enough with my ranting! - Getting My Band In A Couple Of Weeks I'm Super Nervous!
