Oh Lord that was me 2 years ago and now 2 years later I am inching to get it done. My date is February 21st but I am trying to move it to the 19th. It sounds weird but you need to sit down and have a heart to heart with yourself. I thought to myself I am going to decide once and for all no going back or second guessing. I made up my mind and now that's it and here I am ready to take the step. Nobody on this forum can make this decision for you but think of where you truly see yourself in 2 or 3 years and no second guessing !!! I wish you luck and offer my support either way

Girl I know and I cannot wait and what sucks is my husband got his passport denied because he oweq back child support to me . We were divorced for 5 years and got remarried LOL so now Ihave to find someone else to go with me grrrrr

My date is 2-21-2011 in TJ Mexico and I got my passport ID card today yippy. I am trying to buy things here and there to make things a little easier . Anyone that had there surgery in mexico find there was something you wish you had brought after you got there ?

I am so excited for you ! I had a friend who used him 2 yrs ago this feb and is still doing great!!! I will be there the same week but with Dr. Kelly on the 21st so let's stay in touch . Congrats and don't be scared , you got this covered!

Oh yea they said for my BMI I will need to do a 10 day pre-op diet and the last three of them clear liquid only. I think I will do ok with that because I know I have no choice because it is for surgery. I think my brain works like that because I couldn't quit smoking in my own but as soon as I got pregnant I stopped that same day.

Well thanks everyone just knowing I am not a loner gives me a confidence boost. There is just something about saying it outloud ( or a post ) that's helps you get past it . I am having my surgery in Fed 58 days from now so I think I will have time to clean up my act. I hope to start 2011 off right

Now that I am closing in on the date of my surgery I find myself eating an extra super amount of food. It is like something inside of me feels like I am never going to eat well again. I feel like a inmate on death row everytime it comes to eating as if I better make every meal count. I know in my head it is not truely the end of eating so why cant I kick that urge to eat like its the last supper ?1

I think you have your answer ! You don't go to a restraunt and ask the waiter what you are having do ya? Nope you tell them ! If there is no sound medical reason for you to not have the surgery kick that punk a$$ Dr. to the curb. I let what others thought hold me back from doing this 2 years ago and boy am I kicking myself now . You don't have a back up life waiting this is it so live it the way you want. I hope it all works out in the end

I have 5 kids ages 14,13,11,9 & 6 months . I am just being honest about the whole deal with them. I told them I am going in Feb to get skinny surgery.I haven't given them details and they didn't ask . My kids seem excited they can't wait to see how I look

I think that is because Texans are bigger we are raised to eat good and not to waste food. I know not finishing my food is something that will be hard to over come post surgery. Ya just can't always carry your left overs home some things are just no good reheated . It gives me stress to think about wasting food .

:rolleyes:OMG that is pretty neat and he is so right about TX and they do say everything is bigger in TX . By speaking out he is taking the hush hush attitude away and making it seem ok .....because it is ok to be happy

Well I am going with Dr. Kelly in February and it was just a couple hundred more. From what I understand they do leak test before you leave and it is all included if you need repair. It is a different story if you leave and develop a leak later. I would go to ER and not try to go back to Mexico because that is life threatening

Thanks guys that's pretty helpful advice and makes me feel A little more comfortable . At this point I don't think anything could keep me from my surgery . I have 3 different sitters lined out and already paid for our passports. This is a huge deal with so many kidos ages 14,13,11,9 and my Lyla 6 months. After all this prep and planning wild horses couldn't drive me away. I was just here thinking man being sick sucks and I worried it cod be worse post op

Me and 3 out if my 5 kids are all stuck in bed with a mean nasty stomach flu and I wonder if things like this will be worse after surgery ? With 4 of my kids school age and a 6 month old at home reality is that I will be dealing with things like this post op.
