  1. I have a mean craving for frozen yogurt from red mango...i dont think its horrible but i'm not sure if i should...any thoughts?
  2. Mine was supposed to come days b4 the surgery and it came over a week after. I think between the liquid diets, surgery and all the weight loss my body just got confused. Hopefully this is my new normal but I guess I'll have to wait and see. Fingers crossed so I don't get it again in 2 weeks or it doesn't last for 3.
  3. I asked my doctor b4 I booked the surgery. He told me 3 weeks.
  4. I had frozen yogurt today from red mango (I figured not so bad) but now I feel like it was a gateway food. I can't stop thinking about fatty fried foods . I'm hoping after my protein shake and some sleep the cravings will go away
  5. Mine was actually supposed to start a few days b4 the surgery but I figured since I was on the preop diet it did something to my cycle. I'm now 9 days postop and it still hasnt come and I used to be very regular. I'm sure it'll come exactly when I dont want it to and ruin my plans but I'm hoping that once it finally does get here it doesnt change too much. I think u should contact ur GYN about the 20 day part though
  6. I find that I sweat more too. I went to the movies on tuesday and got up to go to the bathroom and when I got back I was sweating, I did the dishes last night and I was pooring sweat. I thought it was just me. I think I may have to email my doctor to find out if this is normal.
  7. HELP!!! I'm 8 days post op and now that the majority of the CO2 is gone I'm hungry all the time!!! I eat at around 8 then again at 12 and i have dinner at about 7. I wait 30 minutes after meals before I drink anything and I try to drink my protien shakes in between so that it curbs my hunger. I'm in the mushie stage but i'm allowed to have flaky fish and i chew it until my teeth hurt. I dont think I'm losing weight and I'm trying my hardest not to slip up but its starting to get to me
  8. Everything depends on ur surgeon and ur insurance. Before u schedule an appointment check ur coordination of benefits and procedure guidelines with ur insurance company. Determine the type of coverage u have. If it's a *** u will need a referral from ur PCP. My surgeon had criteria of his own that needed to be fulfilled, he sent me to a cardiologist endocrinologist pulmonary doctor nutritionist and psychologist. I also had to have an endoscopy so he was able to determine my overall health based on the reports so don't worry if u don't have everything already.
  9. Good luck tomorrow. Pls keep in contact and fill me in on the whole experience (anxiety is getting the better of me). Hope everything goes well
  10. I'm scheduled for august 9th. Everything happened so quickly it just hit me that it's only 6 days. My pre-op testing is tomorrow and part of me is beyond thrilled but the othe part is freaked out...i've never had surgery b4 this is kinda scary.
  11. I started my liquid diet last Monday. I lost 4 lbs in the first 4 days and I thought things were going great but I haven't lost a pound since. I think I may be retaining water but who knows. I spoke to my surgeon about it and he said that my body may recognize the starvation causing my metabolism to slow. I can't help but think "if my metabolism is slowing now without the band is it going to be just as bad if not worse when I can only use a portion of my stomach?" My surgery is in 6 days and though I'm excited to shed the lbs and start a new chapter in my life I don't want to go through with this if it's not gonna work
  12. I'm very nervous 2. My surgery is August 9th and my pre op is tomorrow! I know I'm ready but now it all seems so real. I met with my PCP for clearance yesterday she said something so discouraging (i wont share b/c i dont want you to start thinking like me) that I started to freak out. The ppl in my life dont really understand the process and what it is i'm going thru mentally and emotionally during this process so i registered here! I'm here for support if you need me. We're gonna be fine
