  1. That is super stressful!! I am not even sure how to handle that. On the upside, you will find that a lot of us paid more than the $2,500 to have a chance at a new life. Best wishes and I hope it all works out in your favor!
  2. I was banded on 9/5, with no Fluid in the band. Had my first fill of 1cc on 10/22. I have felt restriction the whole time. I can probably eat more than I should, about a cup of food. I don't really feel hungry, but eat at 7, 12 & 5 (or so). I keep expecting to wake up and be hungry or be able to keep eating (normally cannot finish what is on my plate). Seems too good to be true with so little in the band.......is this normal????
  3. I was told nothing with carbonation.
  4. If you get a window at all....I have a few things that I have already missed the window. But it is definitely ok!
  5. Just left goodwill with 4 pairs of work pants for 15. My husband asked if they all fit. I said one does, the others will next week..lol!
  6. Not that low yet. Started in 24's. Can now fit in 18's.
  7. I had a pair of jeans that were super cute. I had never worn them before. I tried them on last week and they fit! Well I was finally able to wear jeans today to work (casual Friday). I did not even get through the day before they were falling off. Could not even wear them to dinner so I pulled out a pair I had tried last week that didn't fit....they fit. Success, but I really didn't think I would change sizes that quickly!
  8. Congrats, you are doing great!!!!
  9. A few of mine never dissolved. One had to be taken out in the office and another came out when I was drying off. Everything was fine and the nurse told me that I could have snipped them if they were bothering me, but I was too scared.
  10. Wow that is a ton of questions! I have no idea what they would ask. My eval consisted of a conversation with a professional. He went over my childhood, and my relationships with the people in my life, where my eating habits come from, etc. Pretty basic, nothing super crazy! Hope yours goes well!!
  11. MamaRita, my port area is still very tender. That is the only part that hurt during the fill was when she pushed around to find it. I even asked if it should still be pretty sore almost 7 weeks out and she said it was normal. Good luck with yours!
  12. Name - Jenn Age- 33 Location- TN Date of surgery- 9/5/2014 Current weight- 257.7 Weight lost since surgery- 36.8 lbs Goal for November- Walk everyday! Favorite thing about Thanksgiving- time off Weight loss goal for November- 247
  13. Banded 9/5....including the 2 week preop diet I am down 36 lbs. I will finally get a fill tomorrow. I currently have no fluid in my band.
  14. Actually lost 0.5 ....super excited!
  15. I think it was about 3 weeks to a month before I could lay that way.
  16. I am on vacation this week....just praying I don't gain....well if I do there is always next week. Making good choices but so much harder to control your food when you are away from home.
  17. Pre-op diet started 8/22, surgery was on 9/5. Since 8/22 I am down 35lbs. An average of 5lbs a week is great and I am feeling awesome!
  18. I am 4 weeks post op tomorrow and I have read that you have to diet before the first fill. I don't really have much hunger, but I have found that if I don't plan out what I am going to eat, I definitely want to eat bad foods. I would suggest planning out your day and portion out the foods in containers so you can just grab what you need and close the refrigerator.
  19. I was banded 9/5. I have lost 10lbs since surgery, for a total of 27.5 since the start of my pre-op diet. I don't have any liquid in my band, but still feel restriction. I should be getting my first fill next week sometime.
  20. I am not hungry at all. I was just planning on the shakes to make sure and get my Protein in. I drank them for 2 weeks pre op so I may not be able to do that. They got really old. I will look into the soups you mentioned.
  21. I start full liquids tomorrow. What are some things that qualify as "full liquids"? I will probably do Protein shakes to get in my protein, but what else can I have? Any suggestions are appreciated!
  22. I did leave early. Sitting up was too difficult. I am also having pretty bad diarrhea so my stomach was killing me.
  23. I feel exactly the same way. I was banded on Friday (9/5) and expected 3-5 days of being uncomfortable, but I was wrong. Went back to work today and there is no way I will make it to the end of the day.
  24. I have never had issues with reflux until surgery 5 days ago and now it is pretty bad. Wish I could find a solution also. I am also dealing with horrible bloating.
